We really enjoyed our stay at Kata Palm! The hotel has a wonderful thai look and feel! As we notified that it was our honeymoon, we were greeted with beautifully decorated bed and spa discount for my wife. The one thing we didn't like was that the breakfast area was fully open and witout a/c. read more

The resort is ca100m from the lively main street. Away. Of the nightly action one gets however nothing with. All the rooms are the tropical pool area, which once around the hotel complex winds turned. The chairs and sunscreens are absolutely in need of an overhaul, as well as the ageing hotel. The rooms however clean and spacious with a shower and bathtub. The breakfast is american with the europeans unusual hot food. The cleanliness could be better. The beach is about 10 minutes away on foot. It is but also shuttle bus from the hotel offered. If happiness is ... a bit on your own something to do the rent a scooter on site. Beware left traffic. The nightlife is colorful and restaurants are sufficiently available. The city's glitzy nightlife in patong stat. The drive with the tuk tuk is 400 Bath= 10 Euro too expensive. Conclusion to the hotel, there are better. read more

The Kata Palm resort is not a beach hotel. It is somewhat outdated but not the worst! The biggest problem in the Kata Palm is the lack of friendliness of the staff. Apparently all annoyed, bored and unwelcoming. Itself for breakfast smiled nobody. Only the cleaning ladies were a notable exception! We have never in Thailand experienced, therefore the hotel we can also not recommend! The noise the street you get on the complex nothing and in spite of the size it is in the whole complex surprisingly quiet. The guests are predominantly russian, australian and scandinavian guests, only little ... german. Transportation to and from the hotel are not in top condition, but reasonably alright and sufficient. Our check-in was a similar catastrophe as from 'Gaby & Thomas' described. We arrived at 9 o'clock in the hotel and should until 14 o'clock waiting for the room. When we after a locker room or air-conditioned waiting area asked, one led us to the pool restaurant! Great-further sweating and no shower in sight! After breakfast questioning, we were told, that this 350 Bhat (10 Euro) costs, since we had not yet checked in could have been. (later we found out, that the hotel-breakfast never this price justifies). We did eat out and could our room then at 13 o'clock relate. What a 'erfreulicher' start in the hotel read more

    Our deluxe room was great. The room was the best at the hotel, there big enough and functional. Our friends had a very small, musty superior room in the old part the hotel. This we can't recommend, although the balcony is somewhat larger than deluxe. But apart from that is the blanket on the head, because it's very cramped and small. In the deluxe rooms there was: air conditioning, flatscreen tv (dw), coffee maker, safe, umbrellas, flashlight, mini bar with very reasonable prices. The furniture and the curtains were clean and very good. The bathroom was also very pleasant, although shower and armatures already faults had. The sink smelled pitiful, as in the overflow water and not drain. We did with a dense plaster on tap hole in the grasp. The bathroom is with rickety shutters from the room separately. Even in the bathtub sitting, you can from the balcony to look. With the room cleaning we had always worked out well. There were towels sufficient. The balcony is small, but nice, though the furniture quite uncomfortable low.

    The breakfast was amazing in the negative sense and the service there lousy. One sort of cheese and two types of sausage, you always had to wait, because they will be charged after 'out of stock' were. On the scrambled eggs, fried eggs and omelets had already a bit longer waiting for and then we had to order the eggshells even fish out. The cooked eggs were every day still half raw and the liquid protein gushed at the peel on the plate! So fit it then labbrigen, warm bacon! There was alternate waffles, crepes or pancakes, but it was always the same dough used-so it tasted also every day the same, and not particulary good! For breakfast it was partly very cramped and the tables were not wiped, only new silverware put down. The cleanliness we found overall miserable. We could at least a better tropical fruits, like mango or passion fruit desired, but there were often only lychee, bananas and melons, rarely also times papaya or pineapple. The drinks were also every day identical: even tapped coffee from the bucket, milk and three juices. The juice glasses were quite small, so you could the guests not resent, if it is just a few glasses on the saftstand are drank! After two weeks we went already annoying for breakfast, because we not any more knew, what we still eat should.

    We had a bad start in Kata Palm, since we 9 hours arrived and still until 14 o'clock on our room should wait! Without any service, like for instance drinks, food, and so on. The service in the hotel we found just as unsatisfactory, since there is nothing nice to talk! The people at the reception were always dull and seemed annoyed from the guests to be. Also the staff at breakfast were, but there was no smile was! It is encouraging, however, that free wireless in the whole hotel was offered and the room cleaning worked well.

    There is a fitness room with old, rickety and partly broken equipment. Use is dangerous. Further possibilities does not exist. Otherwise there is free wi-fi in the whole hotel, a german tv program and thank god no animation. The pools are with a few water fountains and otherwise really tidy, although not very clean. Chairs are but not sufficiently available, but beach towels there were completely uncomplicated in the room. Partly we had more than two beach towels! Palm trees and umbrellas offered little shade. The Kata beach is big, but well arranged. Extensive walks along the beach are not really possible. There is also a little trash at the beach and a smelly canal, as well as occasionally jellyfish in the sea. But we had almost no problems, also without bath shoes.

    The Kata Palm resort is not a beach hotel. You have to approximately 600 meters the lively town of cover, around to the beach to come, almost around the Tennis- and golf course around. It is although it is very loud, but in the hotel mostly quiet. At the same time, when leaving of the hotel plenty of shopping and dining options available, to mopedverleihen and supermarkets. It is way too many the good and the ' talk ' on the street and also at the beach has already caribbean, very penetrantes level! Ocean view it in the hotel not. The environment we heard in the room almost never, except in fireworks! The beach section for the Kata Palm is tiny with only 30 beach chairs, which early time at the front desk every day new be booked! Who is gladly already 8:00 a. m. on vacation for two beach chairs at the front desk at? We have never made and better 200 Bhat for two beach chairs plus umbrella on a itself selected section out. The beach is beautiful, but not with the quiet in Khao Lak comparable, although the water here clear seems to be. The number of beach chairs is remarkable and lots of people press here. We would not have thought, that we get used to it, but after the first shock goes it then actually. In any event, it is reasonably 'quiet' with the following exceptions: jet ski, beach vendors and fallschirmziehen with the boat.

The hotel is actually right on the main street but you get in the hotel anything with. Absolute peace and quiet. There are 2 pools in a beautiful tropical garden. We stayed in the older part of the hotel accommodated. The room smelled musty! The mattress was quite durchgespürt and the cushions were rock hard.! The bathroom was alright! We had a bath which we shower used. Despite shower curtain was after showering the bathroom underwater.! At least the water pressure was alright! While we were there, there were different nationalities in the hotel but mainly russians. Average ... age was mixed! read more

    Reasonable size, otherwise moldy. Tv with dw. The air conditioning was so loud that you you sleep mind had, therefore it was very hot in the room. Sleep we got little. There was a fridge and a mini bar (we didn't use it). A safe is in the closet (with permutuation lock). Balcony with a view of the pool.

    We had including breakfast booked. This was the worst breakfast was we have ever gotten. If you love in the early red curry, fish, soup and other hot meals to itself to take then it may still go, but if you like bread, cheese, sausage or similar may then you lost. There was toast and if you're lucky had one sort of cheese and 2 types of sausage. If the but was then one has to wait. That was then already times 20 minutes. Until bored the buffet restocked. The fruit choice was more than limited. The cafe was quite good. You shouldn't look exactly what vessel this comes.

    The welcoming at the reception was already not very friendly. Rather bored us the lady. Questions were annoying. In the other hotel where we during our stay we were always greeted in a nice whenever we had a hotel staff member come across. The was not sunday The frühstücksmitarbeiter were bored. Which is not even a smile on their lips scurried. We always had lunch time a small something by the pool eaten. The food is with wrong prices advertised. (on the banner on the service area ) on demand why the bill now higher is said that the banner is dated! Mmh you can then also times change...!

    From the hotel is about 10 minutes to the beach (if you walked comfortably). You can but also a hotel shuttle takes. This drives however only at certain times of the day. But we were only 1 times briefly at the beach. Completely crowded. Rather Ballermann felling! In the hotel you can get a vouchers pick-up (before 8:30 o'clock) a beach in vain gets. Otherwise one must 200 Bhat pay for it...! Better you walk to Kata Noi beach (about 20 minutes), much nicer! Shoppen goes right on the doorstep go. Restaurants there was also very many in the immediate area. 1 time we had at the thai night in the hotel restaurant part. The food was very good.

The Kata Palm resort is a good hotel, in the a week vacation to spend can. It is not our favorites, but we would stay there again. The rooms are clean and daily well cleaned. The pool area is really nice and clean! The dishes were in larger choice at the breakfast available. The quality is however unfortunately rather bad. Plus a staff, that is the case, such as the coffee tastes. Very bland! Nevertheless a recommendable hotel. read more

When we arrived at the Kata Palm resort, we still thought: wow, what a great in thai style designed reception area. The first ernüchertung followed by at the check-in. The relatively dull receptionist checked us bored a, no information about breakfast times, general information on the area, etc. Almost wordlessly she gave us our room cards in the hand and of al we our booked superior room entered was the vacation mood dwindles gone. The room smelled extremely musty, moldy and was completely damp. Everything in the room was damp, the bathroom mold on the walls. Back to the front ... desk we asked for another room. The nights room that you were shown was damp and musty. The highlight in 2. room was the abgetaute minibar, with delicious mold, on the melting water sponge. Back to the front desk. There was no other room available. One vertöstete us and after 3 hours! Wait they showed us a deluxe room in the newer part the hotel. Happy and grateful to the waiting time we thought, that we finally unpack may, until us the nice lady told us, that the booked rate of 85 Euro a night nor 15 Euro a night impact in bar should pay. Then was also slow our patience to end. We have explained to you, that it is not our fault if, when the complex was fully booked and we-if you were a reasonable superior room can offer-a höherklassiges room without an extra charge should offer. After endless discussions told us uncompromising with: either pay or from the mildew room! We do not have that so ever in a hotel experienced. After the long journey and endless waiting time we paid the extra to finally the vacation can start. When paying hellte also immediately the mine our speculating on. In spite of the great hotel in the hotel we want a fair, factual review. Likewise, we would definitely say, that we should not 'nitpicker' and not every flaw search. But for a rate of 100 Euro a night you can but a certain standard expected.     We had on the superior room already written enough. The deluxe room was very big and optically very nice decorated. This rooms are in the newer part the hotel and are therefore probably also not musty and damp. The prices the mini bar was more than fair, hardly on the prices in the supermarket. The bathroom very big and shampoo, shower gel everything available. As well as plenty of towels and 2 towels. Air conditioning system and free safe, and flat screen tv were also available. But even the deluxe rooms were very badly cleaned. Mirror, badearmaturen and the very nice glass cabin shower were completely calcified and were also not cleaned. On the tables and shelves plenty of dust. Otherwise was the deluxe room very nice.

    For breakfast there were every day exactly the same. Toast, bread, small rolls. Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, omelets, bacon, jam, fruit, muesli and some hot thai food, gek. Ham and cheese. With the choice we were very satisfied. Unfortunately also here the service the game... The tables were not wiped, only new silverware move. Crumbs of previous guests made you own way.     Well... The service in the hotel for beginners Thailand tourists took some getting used to. From the great check-in told we had already. The famous thai hospitality experienced unfortunately only outside of the hotel. We had the impression, that parts of the staff dull and unmotivated seemed. Only the maid the one over the way ran greeted, others walked just past... As in this hotel with complaints are gone around, reported we already have. We were already in all hotels in Thailand and always loved it but this hotel is really an exception.

    The swimming pool looked optically top. A pool, in once to the complex could swim, very nice tropical plants. Also enough chairs and umbrellas, but almost all were defective. And that is the large flaw of this ageing area: it seem like everything and nothing is being repaired and nothing more invested! By the pool it is very quiet and we could prima relax. Pool hours are until 19 hours. Around 6:00 p. m. the cushions eigesammelt. We wanted to have a little lie, nothing there, rising, edition pulled away and stood there we with our towels... But this also not more really surprised. In the hotel there was a gym and a spa centre, which we didn't visit.

    The hotel is right on the main street with its countless shops and restaurants directly in front of the door. The noise the street you get in the hotel nothing and in spite of the size it is in the whole complex surprisingly quiet. To the beach there was a shuttle service and on foot you needed about 10 minutes. The beach is about 3 kilometer wide and in the back part there were loads of beach chairs and umbrellas to rent. The beach was great, clean and the water crystal clear. As it was at the beach very quiet, although it in the peak season was very busy. The hotel also has its own beach section with chairs. You have to in the morning at 8:30 a. m. get a ticket and can the loungers thus free of charge. Since we were in the morning at 8:00 a. m. not already queue (the tickets are giddy way), we rent the two are at the beach with umbrella for about 5 Euro. There is also plenty of bars, the beverages and food at fair prices. In the town itself there are unfortunately no small 'classic' thairestaurants, rather everything very touristy held. Around 15 minutes away on foot out of town we found but 3 restaurants, where we delicious and local food. The guest structure in Kata stock as well as in the Kata Palm resort about 70% russians, followed by italians, scandinavians and german.

    English are moderate. But for general things. Friendliness and room cleaning were absolutely alright Very, very negative: one must in the morning to 8:00 a. m. lines, if you want a pool chair at the beach i would like. Around 8:30 a. m. is only someone there, and it is not certain, that you will still get a couch. We used this as a very annoying and we didn't use it. We are on a different quieter beach and the loungers paid. A shame...

The location is almost perfect. To the beach one runs about 10 minutes, which had the advantage that one can in the supermarket fast to pack something. The hotel itself is in a good used condition. For the money it was reasonable for us. You could clear with a little bit of color make more out of it. The staff are for thai standards very unfriendly (i know from Thailand so not). Rooms are also ok. In the minibar costs for example the beer as little as in the supermarket. read more

Top -hotel in a peaceful location. Free shuttle bus to the beach, this is however also on foot in 5-10 minutes to reach.. We had a room with direct access to the pool. Perfect. read more

We had a pool room with direct pool access leased. Own loungers on the terrace and a really nice equipped room with beautiful bath. Pool area is great laid out. Check in ran fast and smoothly, you can tell that you are in a larger hotel is, the staff are friendly, but it was quite anonymous and the typical thai hospitality leaves something to be desired. It is about 10 minutes to the beach, described as from previous guests, on the road along, at supermarkets past, so you can as well, with cool drinks supply. The beach itself is very ... nice, while we were there with high waves what we found super. We were before in kamala beach, on koh lanta, there was the sea very quiet. Outside of the hotel everything there that you need. A instruction to audience on Kata beach, but the hotel can but nothing. There were tons of russians locally, to Russian billboards and menus. If you like it, ok., we have can do without. There are certainly still other beach sections on phuket where it may not be so extreme. The hotel we could definitely recommend and is a small oasis in the hustle and bustle in front of the hotel! read more

I can highly recommend the hotel: the room is classic thai-style furnished, the balcony is big enough, the bed linen had from time to time a small hole, but it was clean. Some towels already seen better days, however otherwise everything was ok. The breakfast was varied. Absolutely great was the inside area: there is-next to restaurants and pool bars - a large, deep pool and a lovely planted, somewhat flatter water landscape, by the swimming pool and within walking distance. The loungers are easily accessible, it is nice and quiet. The beach is quickly reached. It is worthwhile, at ... the beach (or on the small street directly behind the beach) further to the rear to walk, since not every pool chair is occupied. read more

In the all in all a very nice resort. The rooms were okay, a bit small and the air-conditioning was bad until not at all chilled. The staff is not as friendly as one it from other corners of thailand knows. The breakfast was ok, not so tasty, the selection was also ok. There were some stores and restaurants all around. The beach is far away from the hotel and one must be very early in the morning a bon at the front desk get, with the you get a beach chair at the beach get (think no later than ... 7:30 a. m. you have to this got, if there is ) the beach me not at all good, everything is completely seats on the whole length. However the pool or rather said the pool area i really liked. So in the all in all the resort is ok, but i would probably not more dorthinziehen. Nevertheless i can recommend it, if the aforementioned not too much to heart is. read more

    Had a ' normal double room ' with a pool view. Room and bathroom in the all in all clean! But: it smelled extremely musty, which inevitably right on the clothes gave, in the closet almost no storage space available. Bed linens and towels old, with holes and stains!

    The well-known and cordial ' thai friendliness' we have all been met during our stay, not in the Kata Palm! Sluggish, unmotivated and disinterested meet here the point, specially the staff at of the lobby and in the restaurant. Room cleaning was very ok.

    Pool area is around by the complex and is great! It is a shame, that the entire area including outdoor area completely was in need of a renovation. Each 2. umbrella folded regularly together, on a bridge over the pool hung the railing broken direction water and to care seemed the anyone. One of the two swimup bars was only on the stools in the water to identify, otherwise it could have been the 'junk room' from the obviously not existing caretaker can be... At the beach there are 30 beach chairs, which guests can be used for free. Vouchers for these to 08:30 to get one must at 08:00 o'clock at of the lobby wait, which for the number of guests: number not verwunder! Freshwater showers are at the beach unfortunately not available! There were daily good beach towels fresh to the room put!

    The pretty crowded beach are less than ten minutes of restaurants and supermarkets, so that you with drinks etc. Supply. 'phukets traumstrände' we went to our first Thailand-stay different! The fine sandy beach as such and the turquoise water are very nice, but with its neighbors left and right almost on body contact to beach chairs, nobody had, only when around 80 to 85% russians... Conclusion : way too many people leave from as such beautiful beach not a lot of see. Near the hotel there are many beautiful restaurants in all price ranges. We found the restaurants right high direction Kata center consistently better, but that's a question of taste.

The hotel is already somewhat outdated. The staff are very friendly and helpful, also with a complaint was fast and friendly one acted. We had a pool-access room, what really recommendable is, here you can also in case of bad weather on the chairs relax on the terrace and feet into the water or a swim go. The pool wafts through the half garden area, is however on the one side only 50 centimeter deep and so not so ideal for swimming. The breakfast buffet is sufficient stocked, however not really tasty. The food by the pool restaurant was very ... good. Annoying were all the taxi drivers in front of the hotel the a every time in the past chat up, generally Kata meanwhile unfortunately very crowded and built up, you will be on every corner accosted regarding various einkaufsaktivitäten. The way to the beach is reasonable, not too far, however are the hotel's own loungers within 5 minutes run down (one must in the morning at 8 o'clock at the front desk his). The rollerservice in front of the hotel seemed a bit strange is however recommendable, when we were there no problems for the 3 days scooter hire. Overall it was okay, i have already clearly better hotels for the same price seen, but also some worse! read more

Good recommendable holiday hotel, the at some places already getting old is. Beautiful pool area in a beautifully designed tropical garden. Within the hotel It is very quiet and relaxing, in comparison to the surrounding hotel area the very lively and Lively. We had a pool access room which was very nice in a thai style decor. The loungers on the Terrace are very comfortable. The selection at the breakfast is good. There is something for every taste and who finds here nothing is Your own fault.
