Hotel South American Copacabana^{(3 stars)}

Rooms are big enough and functional furnished. Bathroom was clean and with good shower and lots of storage facilities. Hair dryer available. Air conditioning available, as well as safe (free of charge). Tv available, but no german channels. We had a room to the rear with views of backyard and a favela. Not much of a view, but quiet. Rooms to the front were louder because of the road.

The breakfast is in buffet form offered. The selection was sufficient and the dishes of good quality. There is a selection of hot and cold dishes, to sweet pastries and fruit. No service, but quick clearing of the table. The atmosphere is loose - no allocations of seats or examination of the room number. The breakfast room is also restaurant. But in the time, in the we were there, not much used. We have better ate out.

Staff very friendly. No german, but at the front desk also english is spoken. Check in was done very quickly. At the front desk you also got towels free of charge to the beach (as the from the room not to the beach should take). Room cleaning regular and good. Transfer service to the airport can the front desk be requested (flat 80 reals ).

Small pool on the roof terrace available. Really very small, but for cooling after a long city tour enough. Some beach chairs available, as well as some seating. Barservice not generally available, but call be requested. Here also a sauna available-with over 30 °c was this but didn't use it.

It is a 'typical' city hotel. High-rise building with lobby and front desk, and breakfast room/restaurant on the ground floor also a bar available. From 1st floor the rooms accommodated. On the roof terrace there is a (very) small pool. Not pompous or impressive, but they are well maintained and clean. In of the lobby some seating. As well as two computer for the free internet access. Breakfast included. Guests international and all age groups. Hotel is also used by tour groups use.

The hotel is situated in a residential area. Even if there is no direct beach hotel is - the location between ipanema and Copacabana is great. Both beaches are on foot distance. As are shops nearby (small supermarket, pharmacy and so on), and restaurants on foot to reach. If you want more shopping to have would like, in the district of ipanema find (also on foot distance).
