Very nice hotel with excellent service and food in the south of morocco. Especially for observers of the night sky and visitors of the sahara an excellent choice.
Only if you want party-life and shopping in your holiday, you should look for another place.
For all others i would definitely recommend this hotel. read more

Sahara sky has the advantage the location. It is an ideal location for excursions into the desert. As a hotel it is not remarkable (it is worth noting however the need to be renovated). The rooms are modest, the furnishing is taste and carelessly scrappy, occasionally fall electricity and water from. In view and earshot of the hotel is open-pit mining businesses.
The hotel has a 2. advantage: a bar with alcohol. I recommend however urgently, drinks directly pay. Who only for the return trip paid, a mean surprise experience. Include does not belong to the strengths of the staff. read more

We travelled to the sahara desert on 12.12.2012 for 3 night (but we stayed for 1 night more) to see the Geminids meteor shower and to catch an Asteroid on photo.
The first impression when I got off the bus, I really fell on my "behind" so much there were stars in the sky!!! We walked to the hotel where the owner Fritz greeted us at the front door. The place was simply magical. All the arrangements for the room and the sauna and dinner/breakfast was in order. No fuss, no problem, pure vacation!
The next morning we ... woke up and saw the hotel in broad light, it was fantastic, in the middle of nowhere, just sand and dune. The room was really clean and the beds where comfortable (the blanket was the best, as it was so big, you could wrap yourself in twice). As we used the telescopes in the night, the breakfast could be served still a little later than usual.
The telescope is just the cream of the cream! State of the art telescopes/mounts and accessories. It was great! I could be there in the early hours of the morning by my self and use the big telescopes and no problems (I guess you have to know a little bit of telescope use before). If not, Fritz is there every night to give a little course on astronomy and let you see the wonders of the universe through the telescopes.
The evening dinner is usually a typical Marrocan food and it is DELICIOUS (even if I am a light eater). The restaurant in the hotel is grand and it feels like you are in a royal palace with high ceilings. The bar offers all kinds of variety of beers, alcohol and wines. The Sauna was a luxury, imagine taking a sauna in the Sahara desert, just unbelievable feeling (for us anyway as we are Finns). Nice jacuzzi, great heat in the sauna and the showers work well. The sun-chairs gave you the impression you where in a resort vacation type of hotel!
All in all, I have to say, it impressed me very much this Sahara Sky hotel. If you have astronomy/stargazing as a hobby, this is the place to go. Really this was the top of the top of the TOP!
I recommend it to everyone! read more

This is the perfect place for star gazing. The roof has a perfect view around and a lot of telescopes to use. If you just pass by you can get an excellent evening with lot of explanations about the stars and have a look through a telescope. For amateurs there are perfect conditions - very good telescopes on stable mounts and connection for power supply. There are all kinds of telescopes - refractor, Newton (Dobson), Schmidt-Cassegrain. Even a Coronado for the sun can be used.
The light pollution has increased a bit over the last few years. There are some ... street lamps visible in a distance of 7 km. But in the very dry air this doesn't matter. M33 can still be seen with naked eye.
I just finished my third stay after 2005 and 2011. I really like the place a lot and will come back again. read more

The hotel is located in an incredible desert landscape. The hotel is not a luxury hotel but very comfortable when you keep in mind that you stay in one of the remotest and hostile areas of the world. Service is friendly. It´s interieur is warm and charming. Our room had a excellent view over the sanddunes. The absolute highlight was the big stargazing terrace. Lying at night in a deckchair and watching the incredible Milky Way was unforgettable for us!

We felt in this hotel very comfortable, the food was very good. Under friendly and attentive guidance of Fritz and courteous employees we enjoyed to stay. Our 4-year-old son has even every time an extra Kid get, which also tasted very good. The hotel is wonderfully located, in absolute silence in the desert. It is very clean and tasteful equipped room with a impressive balcony view of the Draatal or Tinfou sand dune or the surrounding mountains. You feel in a science fiction movie offset, as on a other Planet-the large telescopes on the roof terrace confirm this impression. Great ... experience! read more

The exposed location right on the edge of the Sahara offers the hotel extraordinary facilities. Apart from the everywhere existing sand this place daily perfect kept in good shape. The attention to detail the Mr can be found in all of the corners. In the existing bar, the people of the nearby place and pool play, you may find yourself waiting in vain for the occurrence of Humphrey Bogart.
