Can't understand how this hotel can hold

Pinhal do sol-where the sun for us never again seems. Ok, for little money and didn't expect much, but that it is so bad, i had not thought. Incompetent staff at the reception, unfriendly and impudent 'service' staff, bad and cold food. Underkept, smelly room etc. You have to the stay rather than experience book, otherwise one is annoyed excessively. I was never on coffee trips, this could however here live to see, as in the pinhal do sol such events would be held. Silberbestecke and similar here a letargischen crowd older portuguese offered. The sales events was right next ... to the dining area of the guests and divided the already well arranged buffet. The hingekarrten retirees are of course only because of the free food on it raved about. Therefore, the 'buffet' from. It is however actually because of the 'qualität' (i must almost laugh, at the food quality to speak, apology) of the food was completely no matter, or even better, if you don't get more. We had a rental car and were then due to our experiences also only for sleeping in the hotel. As in the next room was broken into, have we our valuable articles always taken. The 'pool' was never cleaned, that floating napkins disturbed nobody. Also the types of people were because of the favourable price rather simple, as i one child (type 'Kevin-Justin', approximately 10 years old, 1,20 metres, 60 kilogram), which as cool as a cucumber in the pool spat called, that this to omit would have, (i was just in the pool!) Every day the mother only to, that i your child in peace i should. Poor Germany. Like such a hotel further exist is completely incomprehensible and i can think of the current recommendation rate of 79% only by manipulative reviews say. I have stayed in many different hotels around the world. In clearly more expensive but also in significantly cheaper accommodation. But the pinhal do sol was by far the worst hotel. read more

The hotel is without hired car not recommendable or if you have by the pool loungers would respectively with the hotel transfer at the beach want to drive. Room service very poor only against 17 or 5:30 P. M. if you were in front of the dinner something peace would. Serving staff in the restaurant very unfriendly to the German guests, difficult it was for guests the no English since no one speaks German. We had a superior double room which was noisy front desk a small fridge and kettle from the other difference. Bed very small apparently King ... size (circa 1.60 times 2 meters) with a very hard mattress. Positive was the large bathroom and the separate toilet, unfortunately everything not very clean. Perhaps it was normal for three stars standard in this country (was our first visit). One is compensated by beautiful beaches and beautiful landscape! read more

Of course not to comparisons with a resort like it Egypt or Turkey. But very well arranged. The rooms are in a long building, in two floors. The rooms on the ground floor each have a small terrace with subsequent lawn. On the first floor are all equipped with a balcony and opportunities to sit equipped. 24 hours front desk. Elevator and plentiful parking spaces. The average age goes genuinely from young to old. The nationalities were in our day 80% English, 15% German the rest is spread. We were also already times in May there, as it was the ... other way around. You can breakfast book, half board or all inclusive we didn't use, only Friday were totally enough. read more

So we were on the first floor the room was massive. Two beds, couch, balcony, TV (ZDF, RTL, sport 1), kettle, gR. Closet, gR. Dresser, telephone, hair dryer, bath tub(inclusive shower), Bidet, safe, air conditioning(- heating) and the the Surperior rooms had, a small fridge. Certainly, the hotel is already somewhat older, however therefor clean and D in the shot!

  • Gastronomy
    5.0

1 bar, 1 restaurant. The shortcoming is, if the hotel is full, it could become rather close. For breakfast there was everything. Rolls, bread, toast, Crispbread, cakes, sausage, cheese, fruit, Tomatoes, gherkins, various coffee(from the machine), different juices (Pineapple juice... Delicious!) muesli, marmelade and so on everything was fresh and plentiful! Also the cleanliness was spotless. As it is very many British people were, there was naturally an English-themed buffet, with mirroror scrambled egg, Sausages, beans in tomato sauce or roasted Bacon. Who likes it!

  • Service
    6.0

The staff are friendly and friendly. All have a smile on the lips. It was the first time, we forgot, a tip for the cleaning ladies to lay down. Nevertheless was the room always great tidy and clean. In the restaurant were all very considerate, cleared quickly, quickly refilled and so on the waiters spoke good English, the cleaning ladies English rather bad. The people at the front desk speak very good English and a few also broken German! As we have no complaints had, we couldn't judge, as it would deal. From other guests we learned only, the anything quickly (even a room changing, just because you prefer a balcony wanted)

  • Sport & Entertainment
    4.0

There is no animation in the hotel. Only evenings there was times now and then an event as for example a live band or a karaoke evening. We didn't use the bar, sat there the whole all inclusive- English and each evening were on watch football. We had no desire on it and therefore rather the area considered. The pool is not big, so if the hotel is full it cramped! But it was clean, is also regularly cleaned. Beach chairs, cushions and umbrellas are provided!

The hotel lies slightly off the beaten track of quarteira. To the beach it was about 3 kilometer, after Qarteira about 4 kilometer. It drives daily free shuttle bus buses from the hotel to destinations nearby. The airport Faro is about 15 kilometers away. The next Load is not even 1 kilometer away (Lidl). A lot of bars and restaurants are in town or a few Miles away, in Luxusort Vilamoura (upscale price range). If you a car would like to rent, you can in the hotel make, a price list in. A small car for a week is located in 140 euros. Then can one the entire Algarve explore. From Qarteira from everything is no more than 100 kilometer (the westernmost part Europe's) away.

The mattresses were worn out. The springs in the mattress digging at the beach chairs. We changed the room after a night, since there was no balcony. But it should be. The first room smelled musty very. A room change was problem-free. The second room was better. A 'terrace' , sharing the adjoining room. In the hotel description was a kettle was available. It was not. Nearby are a few restaurants and a Lidl supermarket. read more

The hotel is in the rough and whole very good, the food, the hotel still work, little varied breakfast offer. Rental car included would have been good, but it is absolutely not necessary, we had one in the trip with included, was really handy. Recommended place to stay as a base, to explore the Algarve. In 7 days no cause for complaint. Room clean, neat, well equipped (telephone, tv meter German channels, safe, closet and chest of drawers, bathroom with WC, bath, padding, hair dryer etc.) A bit out of the city center in a very quiet location, which was very pleasant. Therefore a bit further ways to stop (bus), supermarkets and city centre. Several times daily free hotel bus service to quarteira and Vilamoura. With a rented car we were independent absolutely flexible. Internet access in lobby, but a bit expensive for ... my taste (5 Euro per hour, 1 euro per. 10 minute). Tennis court available for a fee. Had booked with breakfast, good buffet. Chief responsible and helpful (for example, car hire, tours, etc. Reiseangelegenheiten) I can recommend. read more

The hotel is not too long ago painted and see it clean and friendly. The decor in our room was old and not very good, but there was a kettle, a small fridge, a hair dryer and an iron with ironing board! The staff is nice, speaks however only English. We really liked the food, there was always two sorts of fish and two sorts of meat. The hotel is located about 3kilometer outside of quarteira. Conclusion: cheap, but good. A rental car is a plus. read more

A small area, the when we were there, just got a Fassadenrenovierung. The rooms were ok, clean. The size of the room was adequate. Plenty of storage space. A small table with two armchairs was available. There was a small TV with 3 German channels (ZDF, RTL, sport 1 ), where other German guests had some other German channels. Safe could be rented. An air conditioning was available. The terrace was used to dry our wet bathing suites. Our room was cleaned well. A new furniture demand the rooms but well. Mini-bar or fridge were not available, but could have been rented for 5 Euro per day.

  • Gastronomy

There was a restaurant, in the buffet breakfast and dinner. The dinner was varied, because we have never served the same thing in 14 days. As a warm starter was always a soup, a small salad buffet available. And there were at least 2 meat and fish dishes to choose from. On the main courses however consisted no self-service. The quality of the food was okay. Dessert was a different cakes, fruit, ice cream and pudding. The prices for the drinks were cheap. (Espresso 1 Euro).

Tennis was offered for a fee. The pool was not used by us, but it looked good. A little tip: at the very end of the property is in a separate guest house has a small pool in a small garden. Tuesday and Thursday entered each Saturday was a solo entertainer, karaoke night.

The prices for the drinks was normal. We paid for a bottle of water cost 2.80 euros. The cleanliness in the restaurant was good. There were always immediately cleared away the plates and after mopped.

The hotel is cute and clean. However, the hotel is a little "off the beaten path". So a rental car on the ground. We have booked this directly from Germany. However, there is a free shuttle bus to the larger cities several times a day around it.

  • Location
    4.0

The hotel is in a very quiet location. So pure relaxation. Except from time to time a car unless you don't hear the pure nature! However you need a car. They also have a free shuttle service several times daily in the surrounding towns, but really is independent you only with a rental car. The surrounding area offers many small, but also major cities seeing. Easy access to everything and wonderful signposted. We were even a day in Spain (approx. 60km). Beaches can be found in the adjoining cities several. However all only via car. But fantastic and really worth seeing! Right at the end of the road there is a large water park with various slides and attractions. He had only been closed for us.

The hotel is a bit old. In the time when we arrived, just painted exterior. But otherwise, there is "Instandhaltungsstau", the silicone partly moldy or detaches from. Also the cleanliness "go because". Was astonished always where every day new hairs on the doors and tiles slightly You can only guess, but needs not too much really need to think about: -) TV: 30 cm Röhrengerät, 2 German channels (Pro7, RTL). Beds with Sprungfederkernmatratze, furniture was worn. Some complain about the "clairaudience" of the resort. I can confirm that it was noisy sometimes, if guests arrived late at night to your room. But that was rather due to the clientele of the guests, it would be unfair to blame the hotel. The mixed guests, about 30 - 50 years including mostly German and English, and a few from the Netherlands, Spanish or Eastern Europe.

There is a restaurant, breakfast includes everything you need to survive. (Probably instant coffee), juices (sugar, coloring and flavoring), cheese, ham, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, Früchtecocktail (canned), bread rolls, cookies, scrambled eggs. As described elsewhere is the quality of the food was rather "kantinenartig". The restaurant serves 2 or 3 times per week program offered (karaoke for example). The prices are reasonable (large beer 2,60 ) and it self service.

Without a rental car, is difficult, I can't imagine staying there without. There is a shuttle bus to the beach about 2 km away in Quarteira offered, but also to the nearby Ohlsdorf gastronomy you have to 1-2 km walk. Conclusion: without a car it could get boring.

Spartan, the double bed consisted of two beds pushed together, the terrace had about 6 square meters balkony - too small to sit and the neighbors passed by it. However, there is an air conditioning which wasn't used by us though. The phone in the room wasn't work during your stay, but that didn't disturb us no further, Moreover, there was a small TV to get news as well. The bathroom was very cramped, had a sink, bath, toilet and bidet. All in all, it was unfortunately not very clean, the joints partly black instead of white, the shower curtain was changed to our request, the bathtub very heavily scratched ...

The hotel is situated just a connection with a rental car is recommended, as it is about a 10 -minute drive from the coast and to to the beaches. To Faro - the airport it was about 20 km away, where there is also a large shopping mall. It was about 40km away, to Albuferia at the Cabo de Sao Vicente 24 90 minutes drive. There is nothing in the surrounding area, no restaurants, bars or shops. The hotel is located in a very quiet area on the edge of a newly constructed settlement. So if you want to explore the Algarve by rental car - it's really good/very central to everything. You sit without car formal firm, until the next Bushaltestation is about 2km walk.

The lounge chairs are at the pool where you like Herrings well sorted. The beach chairs were enough sometimes not. Especially because some of the guests had the annoying habit to reserve early with towels, to disappear in the afternoon and then cheerful smiling. The cost for the use of the internet are high. The hour and 10 minutes for 5.00 Euros for 1.00 €. In other hotels (3 stars) is the free access to the normal service. Shopping possibilities only by car. At the pool you should follow traffic to get used to, as the pool is located directly on the connecting street to Quarteira and the entrance to the hotel. The traffic is limited.

We went there as a couple, the wanted to see a lot of the area. car hire is a must, although the hotel 3 times daily offers a bus service to the beach. Very quiet location in the back country, within walking distance, about 40 minutes from the beach. One of the few hotels that go at this time of year. As in the category should, varied breakfast only little. Those who like it but every morning eggs and bacon, or grilled tomatoes and beans, as many English couples there might be. Like the rest of Portugal helpfulness is very ... large and also for early check out there was access to the breakfast room. When we arrived we were given instead of the double room a about 40 -Equipment large family room, which had a very sparsely furnished. The double bed consisted of two twins pushed together Klappliegen, the TV on a small cupboard, the hotel was a small chest of drawers and a small fridge in the a kettle, one seater couch and two single standing Klappliegen in the room. In the closet there was only the possibility to hang clothes. The small AC in the room had problems, the large room to "heat". Directly in front of the balcony was a huge tree, so you had no view. The next day, we could move to the ground floor in a double room, which was similar. The patio door it rained even here showed signs of mold on the window frames. The bathroom and the extra toilet made at first glance a good impression. But also here was quickly understand that the bathroom need of an update. Old shower hose in the tub, worn-out shower curtain, the enamal had the bathtub was so really worn out, on the copper showed anywhere lime around. The general cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, I could do that also expect a small price.

The large breakfast buffet offers a variety of food, which however a poor quality. We have "live" experienced as a lady from the next table took a toast from the buffet and the space she noticed that it was moldy. The salt were all blocked, the waiter had only to say that this was the humidity. The Metallverschlüsse showed the salt already traces of rust. The first morning we found under the next table the remains of the past dinner (Kartoffelviertel and lemon slices, where it is not for breakfast). Also the window frames MEADOWS a layer moldy. When the operation in a chefs drop (passage between the kitchen and restaurant) from a high closet didn't want to take a chair, used as Steighilfe from the restaurant, which you back to the restaurant was not clean either after work. For a buffet breakfast to serve you needed a plastic tray. The paper table cloth, which was changed after every guest the actual table cloth, hidden any stains. The table cloths, which also used for the buffet were very dirty. It was the same every day at the breakfast buffet, jam (four kinds of pre-packed), no honey, a little cereal, biscuits, black tea or mint tea, different coffees of the Nescafé-machine, a sort of cheese, three sorts of sausages, tomatoes and cucumbers, eggs, hot sausages, baked beans, there was also cheap excellentely tasty yoghurt from Lidl Portugal. The Nescafe machine was never cleaned, the noticed when we one morning Teewasser from this machine. of course, white cup of the water was slightly milky" and contained "Kaffeeflocken". to the dinner buffet every day different soup, the same salads, rice, chips, potatoes, vegetables, meat and twice meat twice. For dessert there were various sweet dishes and in a bowl carelessly prepared all kiwis and bananas. We only ate twice in the evening and despite half board! The ambience of the restaurant is not inviting, as everything is and placed lifelessly arranged and the cleanliness leaves something to be desired. Also, it from the adjoining bar, from the manager junior manager while we ate. Also the whole room video surveillance. The drinks are cheap, a Coke 1,80 € and a small bottle of .33L water 1.00 €. In addition, you can, if not go half board has been booked, for 9.90 euros/person from the buffet food!

Friendliness is for the hotel staff rather an unknown, because the staff made upon check-in a rather bored and disinterested impression. There was no friendly word such as. The check in went smoothly. The next morning it was by the other lady at the front desk the same, no welcome no smiles etc. The staff of the breakfast buffet were bad mood than friendly, no Begrüßung, ... We could communicate with English. The bed in the room was cleaned everyday, the floor and the bathroom stayed rather dirty. Also a small BAST basket, with soap and shampoo sachets small, on the edge was moldy. The towels in the bathroom were not anymore the newest, quite lock, and stained (you will also used for absorption of rainwater, see above). Additional servives, except internet (10 minutes=1.00 €, 30 minutes=€2.50 ), we didn't use.

We used the pool from weather-induced reasons, it was just too cold and rainy for swimming. Next to the pool there is a small playground for children, which we wouldn't recommend though, as for example the slide directly 30 cm away from the fence ended. What we found a big risk of injury for children represents.

The distance to the airport was about half an hour. In the towns Almancil, Vilamoura and Quarteira, with their respective beaches, you needed about 10 -15 minutes by car. Shopping and entertainment possibilities were also in these places. Different excursions were offered by the individual travel agents. As mentioned in other reviews this hotel without a rental car is absolutely not recommendable, located in the immediate neighborhood of the hotel only a housing estate, Orangenfelder and meadows. The hotel offers several times a free daily shuttle to Vilamoura (harbor) and Quarteira (beach) which we didn't use them because we had a rental car. The location of the hotel there was of course no traffic noise and may be "party screamings".
