This year, we went to the Delphin Palace Hotel in April with our little daughter of nearly 2 years old. Actually, we booked the Delphin Deluxe hotel, but because the DD hotel is in the middle of renovation, we were suggested to go to the Delphin Palace. At home it felt like a little disappointment because of our great honeymoon in DD but arriving at Delphin Palace, every little bit of disappointment disappeared instantly. After being there for 11 days, we can say without any doubt that Delphin Palace was our second Delphin experience in Turkey, and also our second ... best (as in both hotels are equally ‘best’-) ) The hotel is big, but due to smart architecture and placing of the facilities, you never lose the feeling of the personal character of a small hotel. The room was large enough, even though we needed to place an extra baby bed. The minibar in the room is filled once a day (free of charge) with soft drinks, water and beer. Every day, the room is also cleaned and you get fresh sheets and towels.

One of the most important things on vacation for us is the food. Though we realize you stay at another country, the food is great. We read some reports from other people who don’t like the food because of strange ingredients (yes, they serve liver, heart, …) but those people often forget you stay as guests in another culture. Nevertheless, the cooking staff tries their very best to serve a lot of western dishes like pancakes, vegetables (carrots, peas, lettuce, … ), chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, rice, … The variety of food is also very good. Every day there are at least 3 sorts of potato dishes and a noodle (pasta) bar. The rest of the buffet is filled with all sorts of meat, fish, chicken, vegetables, local dishes, … Also for children there is a special buffet with child-friendly dishes. The hotel is very children friendly with a mini club, a lot of animation, stairs at every bar and of course the great staff that really made our daughter feel great! The drinks at the numerous bars are good. We have had a lot of experiences in Turkey with local drinks (e.g. cola, vodka, …) that were terrible. The drinks served at this hotel are all very good (they serve pepsi) and even some of the imported drinks are free of charge (martini, safari, whiskey, …) It’s great to order a manhattan cocktail when you don’t need to give your room number to be charged…

The Delphin hotels have created a great atmosphere where the staff (everybody!) is willing to make you feel at home and make sure you have everything you wish for. Nothing is too much for them and they serve you with a smile, even without a tip! The staff at the pool is constantly moving around to ask the guests to drink something (they are on rollerblades). That way, the only thing you have to do yourself is going to the pool and the toilets… If you pass a member, whether it’s a manager, animation team member or even a cleaning lady, you will get a ‘hello, how are you?’! What’s important for us is what the management does with suggestions and remarks. Delphin hotels have a ‘guest relation office’ where you can share your wishes. If it’s possible, it’s been done! We asked for bananas to feed our baby, the next day there was a plate of bananas in the room, together with a note saying ‘we received your suggestion and made some changes in our service’. That’s what we all like to read, isn’t it?

The transfer between the airport and the hotel was about 20 minutes, which was great because of our little daughter. In the neighborhood there are some bazars (shopping malls) where you can shop for clothes, souvenirs, … (make sure to negotiate your price, as in every location in Turkey). For western products, you can go to the Migros supermarket located at 500 meters, where they even have baby milk. With the local bus service (dolmus) it costs you about 1 euro to Antalya old town, where you can shop, see some of the remains of the old city, …
