All together we had a beautiful and relaxed vacation. Recommendable is the area particularly for bathing. Sights and cultural offers there is whereas hardly any in the region. But wonderful beaches with crystal blue and very clear water. A car is very recommendable. Free parking spaces at the hotel are sufficiently available. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite noisy, which did not bother us, as not much going on was. For the hotel pool is a CAP necessary ( for 3 Euro also in the hotel to purchase). For dinner you could choose ... between two dishes to be selected. The freshly prepared meal times consist of two courses (pasta and fish/ meat dish and side dishes), as well as a dessert ( mainly fruit) and were delicious. read more

The la bussola is a small, comfortable, family-run hotel. The hotel was mostly by Italy, the age structure is multicolored mixed. Due to the location is a rental car recommendable. Both about 2 kilometer away very nice beach Grotticelle, as well as the place Tropea is so independent from the hotel-shuttle bus easy to reach. The cleanliness in the room and the entire area was in any case immaculate. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Knowledge of Italian are however due to the lack of knowledge of the staff an advantage. We found however the Italian flair as ... very pleasant and funny. At the review the half board we can only the above reviews follow. The breakfast was except for the coffee from the automat for Italian standards completely in order. The dinner with pasta and either fish- respectively meat was every day very good, only the dessert us personally was missing. The kalabresiche evening with buffet and music a real highlight! The beaches offer consistently Turquoise, clear water with great Prospects and steep coasts. Is very recommendable also a boat tour along the coastline to Tropea ( for 27 Euro per person about the hotel bookable). Next to the bathing fun we great excursions in the picturesque fishing village of Scilla, the medieval gerace and in the national park Aspromonte with adventurous snakes and mountain roads. A successful vacation overall in the wonderful Calabria! read more

    The rooms are fine. Our bathroom was however quite small. The toilet seat was rickety, the towel rail immediately noticed from, as well as the soap dish. Fridge was available. The balcony narrow, but it was enough. We required it only to the towel-dry.

    The food in the evening ( we had the half board) was good. But: After the first course serves and the side dishes for the 2. course ( meat or fish) on the buffet asked, started the fight at: you had to immediately get up, a plate clutch and accessing, otherwise you got from the appetizers nothing from. One gedrängelt of left and right. Within minutes was the buffet ratzekal empty and it was not refilled. That was a real shortcoming. The subsequent dessert tear one also from the stools: there was merely fruit - once apples, sometimes pears, times melons. Only on the sunday was a piece of cakes serves, but not the hit was.

    To the beach it is on foot way too far. But there is a hotel bus, the guests several times a day to the beach runs and pick you up at no charge. However it costs 4,50 Euro per drive for 2 persons Shopping nearby is not possible, you need a rental car. For excursions the location is suitable.

Dishes typical of the country, especially however fish and meeresfrüchtelastig. If you only bed and breakfast bay, as we, we recommend good evening meal. Breakfast for Italian standards good. Toast, rolls, sausage, cheese, homemade marmelade, freshly baked croissants, muesli, cakes and many more.

    Distance to the beach with the free shuttle bus (runs every hour) about 5 minutes. After tropea, a wonderful town, 10-15-minute drive. To the airport lamezia terme one and a half hours by car. A supermarket is reachable on foot, about 10 minutes. Some restaurants from minutes by car to reach. Car an advantage, but it must not be the case, as it amongst others for the beach and for tropea a shuttle bus returns. Otherwise were from the hotel numerous excursions offered, like for instance island and volcano Stromboli, culinary tour with tasting regional food, boat tour with fishing and food and snorkeling in the bays capo vaticano and a lot many more. Walks nearby of the hotel not possible, because the hotel on a street and no real on foot there is. With the volume of the cars it adhered within limits. Was times more and times less traffic. In the rooms you can hear in the closed window but nothing. Depending on uhrziet we could hear by the pool. Great beach and turquoise sea with many rocks and clear water. Snorkeling recommendable for example because of the sea urchins and colorful fish.

    Simple room, but technically on beach. Renovation not long supine and very clean. The matratzenqualität should be better. Almost no international/ German tv channels, which for us however not a problem represents. Safe must be paid extra.

    The italians are apparently crazy karaoge, we are not. One had then after eating unfortunately no possibility, in a quiet area to escape. According to the senior boss but in the winter rebuilt.     You can from the terrace from wonderful sunsets with the volcanic island Stromboli look at. It has a beautiful view of the sea and the aeolian islands. However the location is secluded. On foot one comes into a small town or village, where you can get nice stroll, or pleasant which drink can. You have to almost a vehicle available have. For sensitive is the nocturnal traffic on the through road in front of the hotel disturbing. In the rooms to the street you have to at night the windows closed and the air conditioning turn on.

Main street directly at the whole object, it was very loud during the day and in addition came still the Fahrzeugabgase. Also the nights were no different plus Hundegebelle. There were 40 °C and the way to the beach is as advertised never 1 kilometer away (maybe M )? The way to the beach went only hotel bus on the day per person 4,50 Euro Walks in the evening hardly possible as no footpath so you could without car nothing undertake. In short for tourist with the airplane journeys, this hotel very suitable. The tourist consist of 98% from ... Italian with your own car therefore also the bad communication. What is not in the catalog to run, are locally 100, -€ Zimmerkaution. Never again hotel 'La Bussola'! Travel guide locally also a flop, was only by telephone reachable you got any concrete information. read more

we had an excellent stay at La Bussola in a big room with a balcony with view on the see. Very friendly people, very helpfull. The manager speaks English very well, the rest a little, as almost everywhere in the south of Europe. But with a booklet and some effort you can learn very quickly the essential lines in a foreighn language. We can recommand the boattrip to the Aeolian islands. The service of the hotel is perfect. We saw some dolphins and the Stromboli pleased us with an eruption. We booked with a voucher of Daydreams. The rooms are ... free, you only pay for breakfast and diner E 30 pppd. And of course the drinks. Breakfast with slices cheese and mortodella, croissant, lots of fruit, juices etc. is very well. Diner is really tastfull. You can choose out of 2 for starter and maincourse (mostly fish or meat) and finishes with icecream, fruits etc. The hotel has a nice swimmingpool as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Calabria. read more

A very nice hotel, with friendly staff. Typical Calabrian kitchen, every day fresh and served delicious. The rooms are modern equipped. The hotel is located about 2 kilometer from a gorgeous beach, with the bus problem-free. A rental car is highly recommendable, as you can explore the beautiful area. When the weather was clear, we had a great view of the Stromboli and evenings great sunsets! read more

Hotel without charm and only for Italian tourists, because very few foreign language skills. Food without variety. You can visit one of two dishes. No fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, salad or regional dishes. For dessert you get apples, oranges or cake. If someone does not soon enough you get nichtsmehr, since it is cleared or is not refilled. Buffet once a week, but since there were only a few regional dishes and a refill awaits you in vain. If you don't is fast enough, has a disadvantage. read more

All in all a nice, clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff! To the beach about 1 kilometer, one is driven for 8 Euro per way and then picked up again. (The best with several vacationers together) about 1 kilometer away also train station. 300 meters bank, about 500 meters shopping possibilities. Breakfast and dinner was perfectly adequate and very tasty. For dinner two courses with two menus to choose from, side dishes from the buffet. Cheap drinks at the same time. Pool not very big, but completely enough for swimming. I can only recommend this hotel! read more

Hotel La bussola is a beautiful, unique Hotel in Capo VATICANO. We were welcomed very welcoming and the service is very good. The view from the rooftop terrace is really great and you can enjoy a wonderful breakfast buffet, among other things, more local products. The owners are very bent over backwards, to make your stay an unforgettable experience. Shuttle service, food and wine tours with excursions: very good. You can really recommend! read more

We are thrilled by the many typical specialties, which we got to eat, and the many tips, which we got for our trips. It was particularly great, making ricotta at the watch, and the hiking guide to join in with. We have seen a lot of Calabria and very much and everything away from the mass tourism. read more

Recently renovated rooms with a refrigerator,safe,private bathroom,shower.Each room has access to a private balcony and some rooms also have access to a wrap-around deck area with spectacular views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.The dining room is spacious and colorful with attached bar for after dinner drinks.A double round pool is surrounded by beautiful vegetation including various types of Palms, Hybiscus and exotic fruit trees.The guests ranged from young couples, families and couples of varying ages.A great mix of Italian,German and Americans got along wonderfully. read more

    Our room was always kept spotless by attentive maid service and plentiful towels were always provided. A TV, safe and refrigerator were located in our room but the english channels were few . This turned out to be a plus since we didn't have to hear constant bad news! Each room is air conditioned with a convenient remote to control it. The card key provided was needed to restore the power to the entire room so , when you left ,all the lights,outlets and TV went off saving power, smart idea but if you have an item charging in an outlet, it will stop charging.

    The dining room is clean and colorful,the menu is somewhat limited but the owners will have the chef prepare almost anything you request.The wines are excellent and very inexpensive but you can get pricier wines if you want. Seafood is a mainstay, as are some pasta dishes .Breakfast is the European type buffet and usually included with your room but we requested eggs (being American) after several days and the chef was happy to oblige. A small bar is located off the dining room and is open all day if you so desire. All the foods were not only delicious but very reasonably priced and plentiful. You can tip at the end of your stay if you want but you never feel put-upon to tip at any time.

    La Bussola is owned and run by one family for many years and they are very friendly and extremely helpful with any request , whether it be transportation,train schedules,maps or special foods off the menu.We even visited long-lost family members in a small village that was two hours away and the owner not only drove us there but then became our translator for a very special connection with a part of the family we had never known.The staff is efficient and helpful and the hotel is immaulately kept.The predominant languages were Italian and German but some members of the family and staff spoke English and , with our limited knowledge of Italian, we were able to communicate our every need.

    The pools are clean and beautiful and surrounded by lush vegetation.There are not many sports activities available but you can keep busy in many other ways.The real draw at this hotel is leisure and relaxtion although wireless internet access is available for those who just can't "get away".

    The hotel is situated in a quiet area away from any large towns but is within walking distance of the train station with access to the entire Calabrian coast or by ferry to Sicily.The vegetation is lush with small farms inter-mixed with some private homes and other hotels.The beautiful beach on the Tyrrhenian Sea is surrounded by cactus covered cliffs with a view of Stromboli and Sicily.Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rental at a resonable rate.Rafts,paddle boats and even power boats are also available for rental.The hotel provides a free shuttle service to and from the beach.You can arrange to airfoil to several volcanic islands near Sicily,visit locals towns or larger cities or just relax by the pools or beach.The nearest airport is about one hour by car.

To be flexible, a rental car is highly recommended, a panda is more than enough. The hotel is very centrally located around Calabria to discover, the rooms facing the garden of the hotel are quieter. The breakfast could have been more varied. read more

Pool is located on the main street: noise and exhaust air. Friendly Staff. Kitchen enttauschend: starter plentiful, the salad buffet was convival and immediately broke and not refilled, then cleared immediately. Main course only 1 St. Meat or fish without supplements. Dessert: bowl of apples. Breakfast no eggs, no fruit, only after request cheese, car rental is absolutely necessary and I think book from the hotel. Säuberkeit the room exceptionally: if a bit was (for example book on bedside table) in the closet or drawer this tucked away! Price/Performance Ratio = Adequate! read more
