Even when the hotel already old and a bit shabby is, compensate the benefits in any case.
It offers a perfect location for a London stay: directly behind Covent Garden, next to different theaters, Somerset house and nearby the Trafalgar Square. The single room was small, but very nice equipped, included flat screen, in-room safe, the uk usual tea -possibilities the preparation and even a free bottle of water. The bed was no typical single bed, but more broadly and the bathroom was large and nice. There is no mini bar, but for ' emergencies' are vending machines available on ... every floor.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. No matter wether about organisational issues or tips, it was always gladly helped. Beautiful was also, that the luggage on the day of departure windsurf board could (and safe).
Had no breakfast and preferred in the morning in Covent Garden for breakfast.
Altogether for London good value for money. read more

A reasonably priced hotel near Covent Gardens in London. The hotel is generally pretty good, although the decor in the hallways is starting to look quite shabby and dated. The rooms themselves though were fine, read more

we were fully satisfied.
the hotel has really a great situation. Therefore the hotel is however also very expensive, nevertheless you should breakfast book in any case, this is indescribable good. The price can be however a bit if you have a room without press view adopted, one on the situation particularly beautiful Backyard but you are not in London the whole day in the hotel room to sit and look out to the backyard. Furthermore, it is quiet as to the street out.
all in all the hotel is surprisingly large. We had booked over the Internet, where we ... were very nice advised before we booked. Check-in was quick and easy manner. You can even on the day of departure your luggage in the hotel store for only 2 GBP per piece, which quite cheap. read more

The Strand Palace London
centrally located and freshly renovated
the hotel lies absolutely great in London, direct at Covent garden, from where many sights on foot rEACH can. For all, the from the airport Heathrow arrival, is great, that one direct with the tube can pass through.
the hotel is in the meantime at least inside finished renovated, all rooms are newly remodeled. From the outside runs the renovation. For our stay we only noticed, that the hotel's exterior have scaffolding was.
the lobby is spacious and opportunities for sitting and a tour desk equipped, at the front desk were ... enough staff around no choice waiting time to leave.
after I a lot of unfriendly staff in this hotel read have, I can absolutely not confirm, neither front desk, or in relation to the room service still in relation to the staff in the breakfast.
by one of four days was one of the lifts broken. On this day it went a bit slower to above, otherwise were the lifts always quick. The staircase and the halls seemed a bit frumpy, but not unclean.
the rooms are with light wood equipped and have shutters, the noise and light good steams. Our room went at the back, there no choice noise from the street, only sometimes arguing Passers-by or Sunday downside: it was a bit badly soundproofed to the neighbor room.
the room was small and had little space for storage space. For this, what you are on a city trip for a few days carries, handed it however absolutely.
the free Wi-Fi identify, was not easy, but once found, it was mostly stable, although a little weak. In the lobby but it was not a problem.
the TV was broken, a bit surprising in the freshly renovated room.
there was every day two small free water bottles, toiletries were anytime again filled, towels there were enough.
pillows and blanket were pleasant, so there is no choice the blankets usual in the sheets, but a related thin Quilt.
good the room service was, that here very on safety respected. Thus the cart with the cleaning agents always close to the the cleaning door opened and I had to take my keys to prove, that it was my room was, when I wanted to.
Generally there was everything great organized, in particular with regard to breakfast. It was anytime again cleared, newly set, only rarely caused waiting times.
our room rate the breakfast included. The offer was not immoderate exciting, but it was something there for every taste. This was the typical British breakfast in offer with baked beans, fried egg, sausage. There was fresh fruit, cereal, good coffee, strong tea, different juices, rolls with cold cuts and marmelade, Croissants and sweet Particles.
therefor, that hotels in London often quite shabby are, if you are not a property you want to spend, we found it here, very good. Real points of criticism we didn't and we would at any time recommend. The three stars of the hotels are totally justified, I would recommend this hotel even a trace better estimate. read more

Has a really great flair of a old house from previous hotelserien. Very smart! Nice!
One is in the middle of the city. Within walking distance of everything within reach. Covent Garden is not 5 minutes away.
And close proximity to thames is indescribable, is just beach! read more

The Strand Palace Hotel captivates with its excellent location. Covent garden is nearby, many West End musical theatre are within walking distance.
The club room cost only a little more than the standard rooms and are highly recommended. As almost everywhere in London the rooms are very small.
The courtyard rooms are quiet but had little natural light. The rooms facing the street are a bit noisy.
If you compare the price with other hotels in this situation, is the beach Palace Hotel and for a City Hotel perfectly OK. read more

The Strand Palace is absolutely fantastic central location; a few minutes' walk from Covent Garden. Also Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, China Town ( Soho) can be reached in a matter of minutes. In the middle of theater/musical scene. Hotel room was a bit small ( Twin superior) but very clean. We had a room at the courtyard. A quiet location in the heart of London from the pulsating life. The bathroom is newly renovated. Showers a treat. The hotel staff was very nice and accomodating; the English fine way. Va. The two gentlemen at the concierge stand ( information) and ... at the luggage. Breakfast was plentiful. Buffet with the type. English dishes, but also fruit, juices, bankcard. Service, despite very many people, efficient and friendly. Tables were always cleared immediately. In summary, for me, there is to London this hotel. It is not luxury, but due to its excellent location, cleanliness and the nice staff. read more

I had to be moved twice. The first room was in the 1 Floor toward the street, so that you couldn't sleep. In the second room we couldn't turn heating off, despite 30 degrees outside. At my complaints excepted some excuse. I had to beg for almost to get a new one. All bathrooms were black hairs that was not mine. disgusting. The flush also did not shut properly. A there's no minibar. A day from mid-afternoon until power outage at night. No light, no television. When we complained there was no apology. Like it was quite normal. All rooms ... are very small. Beds are extremely soft. read more

The hotel is on the outside, inside as well. It is already in the lobby a very well-kept impression, it has a good feel. Our room was a little on the small side, but it was clean, tidy and completely enough for you in London only in our room to sleep. We had a TV, bathroom with shower/bathtub/note: There was no hair-dryer available so bring a. What the power goes: My cell phone in the bathroom, which had the shaver point I could recharge normal, the hair dryer didn't plug for work, I told the reception bought an adapter (4 ... GBP. The price is OK, you can watch the parts was kept) breakfast I think with 15 GBP per day and person a bit overpriced, but probably couldn't judge if it was worth the money maybe because we didn't use it. The average age was mixed, as far as I could tell. read more

Very well located for a city break many places well within walking distance. Subway stops in the immediate vicinity. The rooms are very small - good illusion the pictures on the internet! - But you're only overnight in the hotel. The only complaint is that the windows to open only 5 cm, no window in the bathroom and fan despite Reklamierens did not work. Although this is a 4 star hotel do not expect too much, however well known to be expected in London always at least 1 star--. The price is too high. read more

The location of the hotel is excellent, you could reach everything on foot, by taxi or subway. Check in was smooth, we arrived at around 10pm and being able to our room, although the hotel was fully booked. Rooms and bathrooms are relatively small, but for a 5 day stay for a couple. Windows only a small crack open, as we had good weather, it was unbearably hot in the room, day and night. read more

The location of the hotel was wonderful for London. There are many places within walking distance, and has almost directly in front of the house three different subway stations (maximum 5 minute walk). For London standards, the rooms are really very large and very clean. The breakfast was also very good. Two minor points: rooms to the street side are ( very) noisy - please for a good nights sleep definitely bring earplugs. In our room was no air conditioning, so it was a little warm. The great location that suited us just trying to overlook. You're hardly in the ... room anyway. read more
