It is typical City Hotel with 135 rooms. Since the year (1996) is not much renovated, that means a little tired, but it is already. Cleanliness was but ok.
In the reservation price the breakfast was, as well as a map for the public transport included.
To our weekend were almost exclusively for guests, which was an event (biathlon in the veltins arena) visited, available. read more

Great hotel, very friendly reception staff and in the restaurant. Very 'good' is the breakfast buffet, it has actually 4 stars! Better I had the handling of garage wish, you can go without parking card in the underground car park, for the return trip you pay the parking fees only 8,50 Euro at the front desk and receives a ausfahrmünze. Arrived in the underground garage waited already 2 cars to, that I out drive. The two other car' s could easily free behind me quickly with pull out, however without pay:-)
In short:
Very good value for money! ... As three star hotel totally acceptable and definitely recommendable. read more

For a business trip oK, but the rooms would have a renovation ( especially the carpeting) necessary.
The bathroom is but very small side.
Tip:
Business -room go to the yard out, but (currently ) 10 Euro more expensive. The investment is worthwhile but, if you're not on a busy street / intersection look/want to hear. read more

Friendly check in.
We got on demand even for our child a private pass card, although in the room price only 2 maps dishes.
Of the two room keys worked first only one, thus you had to back down to the front desk again, this enabled to leave.
Extra bed was quickly delivered. Anyway very small room offered is hardly any space.
The bathroom is very tiny, you can to not at all dry. The Duschabdichtung went away. Both soap dispensers were empty upon arrival, were on request but immediately replaced. Missing air ventilation in the bathroom and room the ... whole very, very hot and humid.
The bathroom door squeaked enormous. If at night someone to toilet had, was the whole family awake.
The noise from the street is really noisy, day and night.
The double beds are very narrow, you have as a couple hardly place for sleeping.
The breakfast was good and balanced. Luckily were enough spaces available, because the hotel not fully booked. Unfortunately the breakfast room was, in comparison to room, freezing cold and drafty. The staff made a somewhat tired and inflexible impression.
Unfortunately there was no private hotel restaurant more. The offered Pizzadienst is not quite the level of a steigenberger.
In the use of the in-room safe at the front desk there was unnecessary misunderstandings. This could also somewhat discreet and uncomplicated expire.
Otherwise worked from the two lifts only one. For the other there was apparently no Reparaturbedarf, because you never saw a Hndwerker there. In a fully booked hotel you would probably go on a elevator wait.
The rooms is loud brochure on the day of departure until 12:00 o'clock available. We were in the morning briefly in the town and wanted to 11:30 our luggage from the room get. Unfortunately were our room key there already disabled, although we still not at all checked out in the morning. That should not really happen, that one as a guest locked out, although you still officially in the room is registered.
All together a bit strange stay, in the details still needs improvement is.
Very positive is however the inkludierte pass-ticket. read more

I guess the Steigenberger hotels because of their professionalism and that applies in principle also here, the hotel fulfills a and the pure hotel manager regards. As all ic -hotels right at the train station located ideal possibilities for excursions, especially in the hotel price a ticket for the Ruhr area -association of transport companies ' Bogestra ' is included, so that you are free with the train the whole area explore can. The hotel has enough parking spaces in the TG for moderate 8,50 euros and if you have a in the yard gets the even free. The ... rooms are practically equipped, however with funzeligen lamps, read in the evening without risk of ocular lesions unfortunately not possible. The bathroom has about 2,5 square meters, is however functional, the shower even excellent!
Despite perfect bed unfortunately, I did not particularly good, because the hotel lies at the intersection of two busy, four-lane streets, of course with traffic light and there is whole night not only the post, but also fire Brigade, Police, Ambulance and so on with police from. The sound-Proofed windows fulfilled their function was poor, against martinshörner and fudged Motorrder but no opportunity, and they leave but evenly also no breath air into the room, which unfortunately neither air ventilation, let alone air conditioning returns! Of course, there is in the room therefore no danger of suffocation, but I thought it was smelly and uncomfortable. If you have less sensitive, can be in the hotel again, for me it is not more in question, therefore no recommendation!
Generally offers the Ruhr area many highlights, mentioning here especially the German Mining museum in Bochum and the city center from Bochum invited to enjoy a relaxing stroll a. read more

We are into town (5-minute walk) and had breakfast there, since we were here in the reviews had read, that the breakfast not good. On the last morning we have tested it still and it was really reasonable. You can book the good. For our car we booked a TG-capacity locally. We would for a short stay again in this hotel book.

Hotel was hostel during a fair in food.
This was by train very easy to reach.
The hotel is in a very good location, the pedestrian precinct is 5 minutes away on foot to reach, as well as the main station.
In the surrounding area of the hotel there are a lot of restaurants and options for shopping.
For a three-star hotel, the rooms are appropriate.
The breakfast buffet was also reasonable.
The price for the night was very appropriate.
Only with the Wi-Fi sadly was very high prices requires, which is unsuited to the year 2012. read more

very solid 3 star hotel, with appropriate value for money. Friendly staff, room and hotel were clean, only the ceiling on the bed was something thin for the dominant foreign/indoor temperatures. Apart from this, there were nothing to complain about. Breakfast has not been posted and used.
and of course, the intercity hotel was conveniently located, as nearby a train station, convenient.
in short: no chic design hotel, but for a single night to moderate price a good choice. read more

The hotel is quite conveniently located nearby the station as it was on a main road it was not possible, with opened window to sleep. The hotel itself has a right to be very well-kept, the staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was okay, it was 'normal ' for a breakfast everything. I found good, that fresh fruit in the buffet was to be found. For a short stay a practical Hotel, from the area but you can't expect too much. read more

We only stayed one night-very friendly young man at the front desk, very clean room with a view of the inner courtyard. It is in the night a bit noisy, if you sleep with the window open. Breakfast was very good, but I thought a little pricey for twelve, 50 Euro-as much as you can eat in the morning. We will book this hotel again, if we ever go back to the area. read more

Very good location of the hotel. With a few steps you are at the central station and the pedestrian zone. Parking in the hotel car park in the garage is free of charge. There is a pay garage. Breakfast was okay, but too few seats. If you can sit outside in the winter, it (when the hotel is full) problems to get places. Rooms have no air conditioning. Flat screen tv and fridge available. There was spider webs and the curtains were very dirty to darken. Bathroom was very small, only a shower, No bathtub. For 1-3 day city break ... perfectly adequate. read more

Service at the front desk was a disaster! The staff has 50 minutes (fifty!) took the company entered correctly on the invoice. After he has finally managed I asked him politely the bill together of proof. In response it has thrown me the staple simple and I should unite itself. That's service!HCLFHLI am staff of Siemens Poland but such treatment, I've never seen that. read more

The check-in went without problems when we were friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and large enough for two people. There are rooms on the street side which was nevertheless quite loud, if you sleep with open windows and room to the inner courtyard the are quieter. The location is very central in relation to the train station or city center. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel for a stay in Gelsenkirchen again. read more
