Nice resort, bad management! archiviert
- June 2010
For breakfast everything was said in the previous reviews, so just to the rooms. The family rooms are excellent, quite large and new. A very good thing for families up to three children. The garden laid out. The pool was nice but not to use, the management was not in a position, within ten days the water to get to grips with. Looked like all guests only the lapidaren comment: pool not available! On request we were put off every day, late there were 100 baht for the Council in the pool one of other hotels to bathe! For me ... simply an incredible offer! You have to say, that the front etatmäßige manager of the hotel had an accident and for a few months is, this is however not type situation, to greet his guests if he goes through the complex. If local staff and the manager (David) not have closed in our hearts, we would definitely not have stayed two weeks in the area. For the mango can only hope, that the real manager will soon get and return to the place.
Cute bungalow area-is more than enough! archiviert
- April 2010
The mango village is a small, cute and clean area with a very nice laid out garden. The garden bungalows are small pool (more than adequate and warm) aligned. The family rooms are with views of the sea. The rooms were cleaned every day. The towels were changed every day. The beach towels could be changed every day at the cleaning staff. We had a family room number 22. The mattresses were rather hard and the view of the sea unfortunately with very nice big banana blocked. The rooms are equipped with safety deposit box and tv. Bathrooms were nicely ... tiled, clean and we always had hot water. Hair dryer was not available! The drinks in the mini bar and the hotel was much too expensive (double to triple the price). We bought in the supermarket or 7-11 Famliy market and in the mini-bar tucked away. Was no problem at all. We stayed at the mango village only had breakfast, so we give for lunch or dinner table no information. The breakfast was very poor. You could choose from toast and croissants, jam (strawberry, pineapple), fruit, cereal, eggs, scrambled eggs or fried eggs with bacon select. Coffee and tea, as well as juices (machine) was offered. In the long term rather one-sided, but it was okay. You reached the beach over steep stairs. The beach was nice and small, but were less suitable for swimming. We are, in most cases, to the Chaweng beach (White fine sand and flatly sloping into the ocean) risks, this us personally the best. The Meanam beach (at the level of the hotel Santiburi) in the North invited you to relax and dream. At the beach Laimai we were only once, since our favorite was the Chaweng beach. Because the Hotel lamai beach is something eating (about 4-5 kilometer, 30 minutes walk), it is advisable to rent mopeds (not at the hotel-too expensive, 250 Baht per day-about 150 Baht). Taxi costs around 30 Baht (after 17:00 o'clock about 50 Baht) per person to lamai centre/beach. But be careful. There is traffic and the Thais very quickly. A tourist is involved in an accident with a Thai, the tourist always lose, even if he is not at fault. To mention, the right and left of the hotel was built. As we were out all day, we didn't hear any noise from construction noise nothing.
Ideal for those seeking peace by scooter archiviert
- March 2010
Very small and quiet area. Next to the hotel was built, but the noise is really not bad. The bungalows are immediate around the pool. The pool itself was clean (cleaned daily) and in good condition. It was a lot of fun, there to splash around a game or swim. It would be a few more beach chairs stood however, above all, if there is such a nice guests, who already around 7:00 the beach chairs, but not eleven. A Shame! Access to the sea was only possible over many steps. The small beach section was clean, but there ... are many stones in the sea and sea grass, which made it not so precisely, where you step. Is almost impossible. However, as we for the whole two weeks had rented a scooter (cost for 15 days = about CHF 100 and gas), that was not a problem. 15 minutes in the lamai beach, about 25 minutes in Chawang. Wore was no problem (except the left), since everything was very unhurried and well-mannered is:No eternal honking, crowd or risky overtaking. Our bungalow was always very clean, the air conditioning worked (very silent!) was wonderful. Very good we found, that the shower was a water heater installed. So we always had hot water. Unfortunately, there were no mosquito nets on the Windows installed, and that is why we absahen, the windows in the evening/night in the open. We didn't mosquito feed ☺ Restaurants are on the main road. However it is recommended here, with wheels to be traveling. At night, the road is not lit at night and a footpath not available. The separate strips is usually used by the scooters. Highly recommended is the restaurant Kraochaoban (South) or the Sabieng (North) or lay the best try ☺ The food in the hotel was okay the breakfast a little sparse and without variety. We'have survived but. The prices were (as almost everywhere in Thailand) significantly higher, than in the surrounding restaurants. We were amazed at the final bill: the three times x/2-liter of water, the every day in the fridge were, we were with 20 Baht. For comparison: in the market a half liter-bottle costs only about twelve bath. Well, we could have asked it before. Shopping possibilities were available (about 10-15 minutes), if you a motor, absolutely no problem, as in every locality many family market or 7-11 are available. Excursions, we could recommend: butterfly-garden, snake-farm, crocodile-farm, big Buddah. From the Samui aquarium we were very disappointed and it was very expensive it is right also. The best: map and just head out. Guided we didn't go on any excursions, so we can recommend to nothing. We have enjoyed the vacation and we'have seen a lot of the island and thousand impressions brought. The relaxation in the hotel is very high. The wonderful complex has certainly contributed.

Very well-kept, clean and idyllic location with friendly and very accommodating staff. The hotel is however rather for adults to be recommended. Peace and relaxation seekers are well cared for at the mango village.
