Charm of the 60. Years in top -location

The Beekmans breathes the defunct charm of the 60. Years. The rooms are clean, require but a fundamental renovation. The restaurant 'top of the tower' offers however a nice view, can but apart from that not at all convincing. Night not with breakfast book! ( tip: right opposite offers a cafe good and reasonably priced breakfast at.)
What the Beekmans nevertheless makes interesting, is the top -location. It is on the corner very quiet for new York standards, in front of the hotel are bus stops in every direction, the subway there are about 10 minutes' walk. Definitely Buy ... by metrocard and bus lines study - it is worthwhile.
Who has no intention of, the day to spend in the hotel, but the city ( Manhattan) explore wants, is in Beekmans great cared for. read more

We were in the summer 2011 in the hotel beekman tower and were very impressed.
Our booked room was through renovations not get, so we were upgraded to a suite. With a living room with dining table and a couch and tv, bedroom and kitchenette.
The standards are other as in Germany, you should not be confused. Decorated the room was american.
The location in addition to the united nations was the highlight, therefore we have on our last day nor barack obama seen. Also otherwise one is fast at a metro or bus stop, the hop on hop of ... sightseeing bus stops also nearby. Also on foot the timesquare right easy to reach.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and courteous.
For our first New York travel was this hotel just perfect. And we would come again. read more

There is a clearly dated, in need of renovation in a 27-story high-rise Hotel.
The room-Suite declared-turned out to be a shabby, simple furniture equipped mini apartment with a kitchenette: the view (2. Floor) was about 1 meters away, with sandwiches thick clinker wall, as far as the dirty bit slices.
The only highlight of the hotel is the restaurant on the top floor with a little view, but rather moderate breakfast.

For a city trip absolutely perfect. Location directly at the United Nations-to walk in 15 minutes in the middle of Times square, Central park etc. would recommend this hotel definitely, even though it was a bit old. At 70 euro per night I have stayed in NY but didn't expect anything more! read more

The hotel is a beautiful old brick building with 26 floors. It is situated close to both the United nations and across the street from the German Embassy on 1st Avenue. On the top floor is a restaurant/bar with a nice view. Included in the room rate is no food, however, you can have breakfast at the restaurant from 7.00 hours. In the rooms is wireless internet (fee) in very good speed available. read more

The size of the room was OK at the hotel. The furniture was very old, and is not bad but so far. Bad which was dirty, for example very much dust if you look down between dessert and bed. Bathroom wasn't clean, in the corner an old eingestaubte soap, spots on the walls and spots in the light of the Spielschranks, first in the shower was has as soon as you the hot water employs a mildew smell perceived and so on. We did not try breakfast, I can't say. At the hotel was quite mixed guests. read more

Good middle class hotel in Manhattan, which is an ideal starting point for crash the city. Up to the nearest metro stations are about 8 minutes but buses stop just around the corner. walk will get you into about 10 -12 minutes for example. The Rockefeller Center. We had a room for 3 people, which from a good sized living room with daybed, desk, dining table with 4 chairs and a sideboard, a closet and a TV cabinet stock and a small kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, coffee maker (with, the was re-filled every day), microwave and crockery. The bedroom ... was a little small, with a double bed (about 40 meters wide), armoire and a console. From the bedroom went into the bathroom that added a closet with the safe as well as a bathtub with integrated shower, toilet and sink. The rooms were always clean, towels were regularly replenished. The furnishings are upscale, although sometimes seem a bit older (upholstery daybed just looked a little tired). Service of the staff are very good. A hotel porter can even spoke some German, so that it always in German greeted us when we left the hotel or back returned. apart from that we had in English. We ourselves prepared meals taken or traveling. On the top floor there is a restaurant with a nice view. The one night there when we drove up to a cocktail, but there was no space, so we had to leave, so I can't say about the quality there. First-time visitors New York is so we were), I could the New York pass (for 3 or 7 days available) recommend. This gives you access to most of the attractions in New York City, some on the "fast track" even faster get into and you must not so much cash with "rumtragen". If you want to discover much worth the New York pass definitely! read more

The hotel and the decor is certainly already a bit older, but for New York standards are good value very good in my opinion. The spacious apartment had a large kitchenette with stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and dishes, so suitable for self-catering. read more

To stay for a trip in fine, German Embassy directly opposite the hotel. However is the nearest metro station but good 10 minute's walk away. You want to explore New York is then it very heavy. Unfortunately our sheets were not changed once during your stay, you could handled most of it though. Tip: Look at Lincoln Center is in the basement a bio supermarket. For little money great food. Furthermore, Grimaldis pizza in Brooklyn highly recommended. Small but fine read more
