The akumal beach resort is one of its approximately 250 rooms, to the rather small plant in the region. The rooms are located in 2-story buildings, the on different houses are divided into. They all have sea view. The complex made a gradual renovation-needy impression. In the lobby two computer's free available, e-mails. A access you can for rich 35 American Dollar per week orders. It is a rather small hotel. It was probably in former times larger, but parts of the hotel locked (although on the internet still advertised, like for instance restaurant with a pool in the middle or beach bar with swings). The hotel should be renovated at some spots. However everything is clean. In the reception area there are two computers for you can use for free, however are some sides locked. Otherwise, you can get for one day or a week a access' buy '. Each 10 or 30 US Dollar. There were mainly americans as guests represented. (these always ... and everywhere thermos cups with, which very annoying can be, as they always forever at the bar needed, around these parts bottling to leave).     The rooms are an absolute deficiency, although we a superior -rooms had, it was really in need of a renovation would be.     Distance to the beach is of course not to exceed, as the hotel by the beach and also the loungers are free. The transfer to the airport to Cancun goes about 1,5 hours. Nearby the hotel are only, by the beach to reach, 2 restaurants, 2 shops (souvenirs). To Playa del Carmen with the collectivo ( bus, very cheap) 30 minutes.     Spacious rooms, with a safe and tv (dw on channel 33). The rooms need to be renovated, but it should probably already partially be made. Air conditioning was very quiet and worked really good. We had the 3 weeks almost always strong wind, and the door to the balcony gave us a song whistled.

    At the front desk there is a holländerin (Marianna), who speaks very well german. Everything else runs on english. We are with our obsolete english very well managed. Rooms were daily to changing times cleaned. We had only good experiences with the front desk, complaints were dealt with quickly.

    We were always at the beach, directly in front of our block 6. it was wonderfully quiet. If you want a little more wants action, should the loungers with volleyball take. An old worn down shed, there is nothing more invested. The much gespriesene schnorchelresort was a flop. Every day dozens of people stomped on the remaining corals around. In a year there are nothing at all more to see. So unfortunately the few money. A little expensive but better read more

The hotel is located breathtakingly beautiful. View of the sea here is guaranteed. Everything wonderful clean, not too big, rather informal. Service excellent. Staff friendly but not pushy. I was satisfied on the whole. read more

We booked the so-called 'standard room' what didn't work at all! The walls were broken, tiles tiles. And so on besides was a relaxing sleep also not to think as a ' animal ' the whole night on the ceiling tiles back and forth run iss. Quiet, not too big hotel, right next to the sea located. We have this hotel after an individual round trip by car because of the beach area and the possibility to go snorkeling elective. The value for money is completely okay! The location our superior room was perfect, wonderful sea view just a few strides to the beach and quiet. (room the complex 6 and 7 are right next to the sea, the other have the pool before). The room was big, the furnishing was a bit spartan (gr. Bed, 2 chairs, gr file with mirror and closet). Bathroom /large ... shower ok. Everything very clean. About the food we were pleasantly surprised. No wide choice, but all of good quality and quite varied (we are also aware of 5 stars hotels. And we eat not every day several dishes). Cocktailqualität hung very from the barkeeper from. The sad was the snorkelling experience. We had strong wind and therefore could some days not into the sea. We have while snorkeling every time big turtles, rays and other fish, but the condition the coral was more than sad. Once we were the diving in a cenote' dos ojos ', was perfect, however also not cheap. The diving in the sea we because of the weather(wind) this time skipped. The hotel was to 95% of americans/canadians occupied. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere. A bit animation at the pool and evenings at the bar, but everything within the small framework. Ideal for rest, if you are in advance on sightseeing was. For our 12-year-old son it was a bit boring (quiet, no special activities and 'possibilities to follow ), but also the times really good his. After 2002. 2008 I was now for the 3 time in but. The direct location at the beach is obviously still available and perfect! What remodeled was, is the Anstzrich the exterior. The rooms are still as then, so no luxury but clean, with flatscreen tv. Which still somewhat disappointing is, is the food. For breakfast every day the same, evl times 1-2 dishes which were changed. Not the the food bad was, but eventually would m, to search for something variety guests. And the juices always remain. I was in the last year in the Catalunya Playa Maroma Also ... 4 stars, there was much more choice, as well as every day also freshly squeezed juices. For lunch and dinner everything was much too European/ American adjusted. Mexican rare find, if, then times one. Even on the Mexican evening there was not much Mexican. And who thinks in Mexican à la carte restaurant you had more selection: nil return! You could just between 2 menus. Everything was the same except for the main course. Only on so there was something' better' that was once a Turkey offered, which was great, you could choose between brighter and dunkllertem meat. Nice crispy! We have the vacation in every respect very enjoyed. The hotel is in a gorgeous area in a long Bay, so it is not crowded. We always got a beach chair in the shade under palm trees found, although we in the week before Easter there were and the hotel was booked. In the buildings 6 + 7 is the beach about 20 meters away = super sea view! In the area there were two restaurants (once buffet and once 'a la carte', a snack bar by the pool, as well as two bars. The sanitary facilities( shower ..., separately toilet and vestibule with sink) are old(40-50-year-old) and strong worn. One had the possibility, between activities music ( Northern from the main restaurant) and peace/ the sound of the sea (to the south of the main restaurant) to choose. The distance to the airport in Cancun is approximately 80 to 90 kilometer.     Animation is in not aufdringlicherweise available(gymnastics, aerobics and so on) sports volleyball, Football, table tennis, tennis (two old squares) diving in the pool and of course snorkel without end. The pool was clean but we have in these beautiful beach and sea not used. There is beach sections with rocks so, if you everywhere right to water should take beach shoes for the long walks on the beach recommendable. Beach chairs and shady places are sufficient available in spite of the Bad habbit of people who reserve sun loungers. Showers are also at the beach in 4 posts available. Internet 15 minutes free in the lobby. In the lobby there is also a closet with books and newspapers of the tourists. In the evening there were shows, which we didn't visited. Small, simple hotel on a dream beach from Mexico! Turtles are guaranteed. Choice of dishes wasn't't as large as in the luxury hotels, but adequate and very tasty. From the rooms you had a very nice view of the ocean and the beach. Simple but from the flat screen tv to save everything was available. Mattress a bit hard. Friendly and always keen Staff.
