Brilliantly located hotel at the Playa Esmeralda. Our holiday happiness was however by the very cheap mattresses muffled, the a relaxing sleep nearly impossible make. In the buffet restaurant you should be on time, since the good places quickly tight. read more

Tired hotel, for the condition way too expensive! For a couple of years in neuzustand it was great, now it is just unacceptable! Were great disappointed. The staff were only accessible and friendly if tips flowed. read more

We were at the end of our big trip a week at Sol Rio de Luna. The first impression was beautiful, however, you think fast, that is really not more in Cuba. Not even the typical musicians in Varadero it was an evening meal at the restaurant. We found the too bad. Most visitors spend the most time with the canadian drink at the pool, what shall ensure, that the beach was a little busy. In spite of this the most were the few, but sufficiently available, umbrellas were already early in the morning with towels occupied the compulsory the ... guests. Simply godawful only. One of the staff, the responsible is the pool chairs to the desired capacity to transport told us, that most of the towels were there, before he starts to seven o'clock in the morning. So what was it also not in Varadero, although you would actually rather it there. Nor is the fact corrosive then, that some guests 'time ' need for it not to say thank you to, the staff their pool chairs after ten minutes up to the desired spot had taken. The location of the hotel is great, the beach is right outside the door. Transfer to the Airport takes about 45 minutes with also not extremely long.
The staff was always friendly and helpful. At check-in we were even served on Whit ch''. However, every Cubans, if you at least a few words in Spanish only speak with him.
In comparison to the tour was the diversity in the food just overwhelming. It was really everything what you can imagine. In addition noodles and all kinds of meat and fish freshly prepared. If you didn't find anything to have claimed here, told simply nonsense. Breakfast buffet as well as rich. It is for the sake of the à la carte restaurants. We were twice in the italian restaurant, the pool restaurant is the during the day. This is absolutely to be recommended. The service is perfect, the food was tasty. You feel like you are in a star restaurant for the time offset.
The room are big enough and also adequately equipped. Unfortunately we had to start, although we in the first floor, problems with cockroaches, the came either under the door or through the ventilation system. A spray on the room was available, which we then have sprayed this 'documentation '. Then nothing happened more. Not very pet friendly, but on the room you must the small guys are not necessarily have.
All in all a nice, but very, very large and spacious hotel, what but unfortunately a rather to a Western charm. It is a lot of value on the maintenance of the people, with the actual resort Cuba in our opinion comes to short. A rest after a trip is to recommend this hotel, if you can live, is not more to feel like in Cuba. We would next time a different hotel, or a different kind of port holiday. read more

The absolute highlight of this plant is the beach, you can really good snorkelling.
The scale is difficult in the years come and scrapped, a renovation would be urgently necessary.
The public was better than in Varadero, few Germans, english and Canadians more.
The atmosphere in the main restaurant had cafeteria character, noisy, hectic, cramped. The offer was varied, much was freshly grilled and tasted very good.
The italian restaurant was a nice change and was also OK
We were three days there, my annual holiday I would not spend there.
The adjacent area luxury Paradisiu 'allegedly' I was also ... not so great through.
If the far away worth it, if you are otherwise rather in the eastern part of the island on the way is, everyone must decide for themselves. read more
