Westcord Hotel Delft^{(3 stars)}

Our room (531) was very large and well decorated (Ikea style) and had the best working airconditioner I ever had with hardly any noise, even on level 3. The temperature in the room in rather high so airconditioning is a very welcoming service and undoubltedly a must on really hot days. The room has a large double bed with two rather soft mattresses, but we slept very well on them. The room is absolutely soundproofed with a view on other rooms and fire-escape. There is a fridge, a working table, a LCD TV, and a large cupboard with tea/coffee facilities and a save in it. The bathroom is large too, with a wash stand, toilet and a good wolring shower. A minor negative point is the open side of the shower cabin with no treshold so the floor will be partly wet after showering (mind your towels not becoming wet). The bathroom has four towels and only liguid soap. Room and bathroom are impeccable clean.

Hot/cold breakfast is very good and abundant. Several kinds of really fresh bread even on Sunday, different kind of curds, jam, meat and cheese products and drinks. We once had dinner which was good/very good. If breakfast is not included in the price you have to pay 13, 00 euro p. p. which is rather much. We had an ‘all in’ offer by weekendcompany. nl at a very competitive price. Moreover the hotel has its offers too.

Entering the hotel you are kindly welcomed and check in/check out went very smoothly. All staff is very kind and helpful.

There is a fitness room, but no pool.

It has a large lounge/entrance hall with reception and bar and running out into the large breakfast room/restaurant with a rather cosy atmopshere. The heated terrace also provides a lovely spot where you can have your breakfast outside. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the property. There is a fitness centre too which we did not use.

The Westcord hotel is a huge business hotel with over 140 rooms near the E13/A19 motorway (between The Hague and Rotterdam). It is about 8 min. by bus to the city centre and about 10 min. to the central train station. Bus 80 and 82 go into the direction of the city centre/railway station which means 4 times per hour through the day but less in the evening and in the weekend (timetable is to have at the reception). The hotel borders on a large park, and has its free parking.

The rooms are decorated in an IKEA style. The hotel is new, so not old and very clean. In the bathroom there is a great big bathroom. The shower is very convenient. In the bathroom there was a clothes line, which can be curious upon request. The bathroom also has many hooks to hang up your towels, etc. All in all very convenient and hospitable. The air conditioner is a little weak and the room was quite warm.

On the weekends, the hotel very reasonable and good packages (right above the own hotel homepage bookable). We booked through Whitsun a package with 2 nights in a double room incl. Breakfast, dinner and 2 coupon for coffee and cake in Delft coffee house. All of this for a price of 200 euro. For dinner we had a 3 -course meal. US two dishes to choose from. These were expensive meals in the map. We decided for steak and Lachfilet. The chef works open, so we had to watch. Food was exquisite and the portion adequate. All the ingredients were fresh and it was served with great attention to detail. Creme brulee was especially good. On the last day we accidentally took too late for breakfast. However, the service was still very nice, and informed us a one hour (! ) To late and just nice asked us what we like to want to eat breakfast. She let us in the kitchen and we were served. All this at no extra charge. The rooms are nicely equipped, not old and very functional planned. In the bathroom there is a for hotel unusual big shelf space.

All the staff speak good English. All the staff were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful.

City tour Delft/recommended visit of Amsterdam with a Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and a better bet is a memorable experience. Parking at the P+R parking in Sloterdijk. It cost 24h guarded parking incl. train ticket cost for a round trip to Amsterdam central station only 6 Euro! The trains run every 5 minutes and the journey time is also about 5 minutes.

The hotel is a bit out of Delft, right next to Ikea. The house is decorated with Ikea furniture. The lobby was bright, friendly, colorful and pleasant. The only thing that optically mind are four terminals for express check-in, which are available from the front desk.

It is a new business hotel, which due to its convenient location is very convenient. The distance to the Hague is only 12 km and to Amsterdam it was about 60 km away.
