We stayed in this hotel over new year's, which was now the jw Marriott part of a chain and not the jumeira.
The location directly on the Central Park is wonderful. In a couple of minutes one is on the 5. avenue-and if one well and gladly on foot on the way is, one can also without further to the Times Square walking.
About 3 minutes to the nearest u-bahn.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are for new york standards very good size, clean and modern.
Gladly again! read more

The hotel lies absolutely super right on the central park. Times Square and other sights are either on foot or with the subway( just round the corner) easy to reach.
The hotel was very clean and great furnished( everything new or newly renovated).
Staff was perfect friendly and we were well-advised and always directly helped us.
The only downside the breakfast was. We had not booked and then on the first day ate there. Continental were with 25 $ veranschalgt and it includes only bread/ rolls with jams and cereal variations (inclusive coffee and tea). That was definitely no good ... value for money! For 37 $we had the complete breakfast offer could make use of, which but also definitely not much rich appeared!
But there is beautiful cafes nearby, where you great breakfast receives. Perhaps also not straight cheap however therefor with more selection!
Apart from that us that very good hotel much and we would this would always book again. read more

Great location at the narrow side of the Central Park.
In the center - Fifth Avenue is within walking distance. Underground station 150 meters.
The building atmosphere. The rooms, also the standard rooms ('essex-queen ') are spacious. Cleanliness is the 5 star level.
The breakfast buffet offers a great variety, but unfortunately relatively expensive, but this is in ny. So! The south gate restaurant is very recommendable! read more

Also during our 2. visit we were not disappointed.
The staff is again good, especially at check in one was very much endeavored! We got an upgrade for a room type to get! (room was a little larger).
The breakfast was excellent again, you should the buffet take, as individual orders a nice sum together comes.
As has already been noted : the location is perfect - on central park, to Broadway it is 10 minutes on foot, u-bahn-station nearby, so, it was ideal.
Next time New York surely again jumeira essex house. read more

Beautiful large and elegant hotel, perfect service and lots of extras. Great bar, nice spa, perfect concierge, the informative and extremely helpful. Hotel taxi take us free in the MET. Breakfast is fine, but was not included in the price. Quite expensive, but it was well worth the money. Always and always come back to this hotel. read more

The hotel welcomes you with a beautiful exclusive lobby welcome. The staff, from the doormen, reception Liftboay to the maid service is very friendly and eager to please. Very large hotel; if you on the Central Park side a room bay I recommend a from the 13th floor. Manhattan-site is already from the 6. Floor with a great view! Breakfast is an extra you could rent, we didn't use. Very exclusive classy hotel, very many business traveler, rather less tourists from Europe; "Pretty Woman" in New York again ... read more

We had a junior suite for a week for 1700 euros, with views of Central Park. We got a suite with a view of the to brick courtyard where only the air conditioning units. To the complaint from us no response. The room was not really clean the bedsheets were hairs, the bathroom was not not in a very good condition. The tiles were dirty, garnish many Aud hanging off. The Stepsel from the sink was broken. We had our room on, "do not disturb 'provided, however the cleaning ladies came every while knock and each time and even a ... note pushed through we should open. I recommended to go out to eat once this hotel. Just bad read more

Jumeirah Essex House has 44 floors and all in all 509 rooms, is for New York standards well not so large. The entire house is well maintained, so much of it was newly renovated. The guest structure was very mixed, many Europeans and business services. When we checked in was a wedding party from Middle East to Fototermin in the lobby. read more

The location right on the Central Park South is great, the view of the park and the opportunities. But be careful with the majority of the recommendations of the hotels to restaurants, etc. Miserable. The really good locations we found either itself or on a recommendation by employees of the Ritz Carlton, as the desk where we sent them an email from Essex house, it was only bad. read more

Since we have years in Dubai Jumeirah are repeat customers, we decided to stay at this hotel. The location of the hotel directly at the southern end of Central Park is top. Also in the surrounding area numerous subway and Metrobuslinien, so that you can explore the whole city. The decor and cleanliness were perfect. The hotel has few years ago (after takeover by Jumeirah) new decor, but not renovated (see room). We had painful experience here the significant difference. read more

Definitely not a room with city view. Definitely overlooking Central Park (important - upper floor, otherwise you couldn't see anything from the park). Service staff at the breakfast were totally overworked. The bar is very stylish and always ready for a drink. read more

Although 3 months before we were a rather modest room in the 7th floor. This was above the extractor fan above the kitchen and a abbruchbaustelle. This room had refused after we took a 1.5 hours verhandlungsmaratons to us the management adequate room. The next day we shut but a (surcharge), and a very good towersuite apgrade accepted changed. read more

Well located hotel right on the Central Park, ideal as a base for the day in the city. But: more expensive give (breakfast and room service). For a real 5 star hotel but a few requests stay open: working light fixtures in room; clean bathrooms and a bearable night's sleep, the hotel's air conditioning only very limited. read more
