New was during my visit in september 2012, the kempinski hotel now (finally) at the metro-net is attached. The drive into town is now significantly easier and faster than ever. To the airport one comes with the public transport also. You can take the metro until the university (with one change), and the university drive the bus to the airport.
As a regular guest and gha black-level member i was greeted by the guest relations manager and they helped for concerns during my total stay to the side. I booked a standard -room, received a free upgrade to a freshly ... renovated junior suite. From the booking of the standard room i advise against, because their condition leaves much to be desired. Who however a renovated standard room bay doesn't go wrong.
The breakfast buffet i have extensive and tasted better. Pay i would not extra. The remaining restaurants convinced however perfectly in the way of selection and taste. They are but all at the top end. read more

Outdated luxury hotel. Double room as a single room for 58 Euro however a very good deal. Extensive breakfast buffet. For Bulgarian conditions quite tasty. The pool is only in the morning available.
The view from the hotel ( high floors prefer) is excellent.
Access to the public transport is sufficient - recommend taxi-preferred OK Supertrans -mostly correct.
In the area little restaurants and shops.
Peaceful location. Room really reasonable, if the radio a little nostalgic flair widespread.
To the price I would definitely book it again. read more

More than an ageing hotel whereby one feels that the staff forced to work there to! The breakfast is for a Kempinski a gräul! No sauna - but with 3 mm hair a bathing cap obligation-as the middle-aged... - I 4 inch chest hair-discussion unsuccessful-I had to the bathroom leave... But there were at the piano bar women for money - outside area totally neglected-land on the tennis court - Exterior molded... I was on foot on the way and in the Parkhotel and Hilton a small sightseeing... So much better than the Kempinski! No recommendation except perhaps for hitchhikers! read more

Kempinski, with this name combines actually hotels. But this should be the name. It has seen ist best years and has probably already better days experienced.
At least the standard room what we had, the furniture is very old and worn, very much in need of renovation, room and bathroom small. In any case the 5 stars are not earned at the most 3.
If you into the lobby is it but very classy, also the outside area, the japanese garden is acceptable.
Unfortunately are tennis courts seen years not been used and modern, equipped so before itself.
Breakfast was ... very good and plentiful.
We were only two nights as a part of a round trip.
It is but also already new enovierte room with new furniture read more

After some business stays in the Kempinski in Sofia I can give him the following recommendations: ask for a renovated hotel rooms, old rooms are in no way our expectations. The food in the hotel is very expensive but well, in the immediate vicinity (up to 20 minutes walk), there are excellent restaurants in which one can have excellent food significantly lower prices. Be careful with taxis, the rates may vary from one company to five times more, especially from Sofia airport in the city. Use okay. Taxis, and always ask for taximeter and price (usual price between ten and ... 20 leva). read more

If you for about 50 euros/night the standard of a German 5 star hotels expected might be disappointed. For Eastern European standards it really is a great hotel. Room on the 17th floor with a view over the city, huge garden with bars and restaurants, rates as to D-Mark, particularly outside the hotels - what more could you ask for? In addition attentive service and stylish atmosphere, we will definitely be going back again. read more

A 'average Hotel' in Sofia. To stay in order, the breakfast buffet is okay. Otherwise this building hardly the usual kempinksi-standard. Is a huge 'disk' from socialist times of Bulgaria. Rates but still not cheap. There are better, but for a night it is fine. read more

The hotel has a for Bulgaria extremely high prices, for example, cost converted a glass of beer 4,5 euro , 5 times as much as in restaurants in the downtown Sofia. Within walking distance of the city center within 30 minutes, but there was also a tram, but I did not use. read more

The room decor is not appropriate. It is 1960s look. Wallpaper was peeling off in one place. There is simply no Kempinski standard. The pool and gym at the time was renovated and soon. So was a use. The breakfast is extensive and good. read more
