Nothing specifically to complain about, apart from dated design of rooms, but hotel is missing the point. Disappointing for InterContinental. Typical Crowne Plaza is way better (!). Location is central, rooms are clean but tired. read hotel review

The Intercontinental Sydney has very well organised staff and service as you might expect from a 5* hotel. The hotel is well positioned, some rooms have Harbour views and are well sound proofed from the traffic noise. read hotel review

The room was a very good size and well appointed with furniture and fittings. These included a couple of sofas; one near the window for views of the Harbour and bathroom facilities were also well provided and a good size. The building did not appear to be recent but the hotel furnishings were tasteful, fresh and in very good condition.

The location is in easy walking distance of Sydney Circular Quay with the frequent ferry services around Sydney Harbour and under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Sydney Intercontinental hotel is also close to Hyde Park and the Sydney Opera House for a night at the opera. The Handa Opera on the Harbour is a magnificent example of what Sydney can produce in the way of entertainment.

This is a very expensive hotel in a prime spot in Sydney. It is very good, but not excellent or amazing. The room was not ready at the stated check in time, but upon getting to the room there was an incredible view. The lobby bar is wildly overpriced, but I guess consistent with this type of hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good, not great. It took a long time to get staff attention to be served a coffee. Staff looked unenthused at those who arrived right at the end of the breakfast period. read hotel review

The hotel is a 5 star hotel, and in our opinion it does almost live up to that standard. The service and general feeling you get walking around in the hotel is more like a 4 star property but still high standard. The location is superb, when you're interested in the main attraction in Sydney like the harbor bridge and the opera house. read hotel review

The staff is very nice, but the hotel is very old, small rooms, old appliances, very noisy on the floors. Its actually not worth the money, 489 Dollars a night for a standard room ??? Unbelivable. And they even charge additional 3 pecent for paying with credti card. Room service is incredibly expensive and internet not working proper, slow running and stopping all the time. The telephone was not working at all. I will definitly not come back. To me this was no Intercontinental standard. read hotel review

The intercontinenral in sydney is at a great location, close to the harbour and opera house location. The downside is, that it was always busy roads with appropriate noise there. If you want quiet, it gets difficult. The hotel is a bit dated. The shows in the ringhörigen walls. Our bed was great, we slept very well. Nevertheless offer the employees a very good courteous service. The check-in and check-out was at efficiency and friendliness hard to beat. The concierge is very helpful and friendly. On the ground floor close to the lobby, there is a beautiful, mostly lively bar. ... If you have the time, should a cake not to be missed. read hotel review

Great service, very predictable. When you book rooms are clearly identified as to the view; city view, eastern harbour, opera house and harbour bridge with increasing prices as the view gets better. The rooms are similar in size with either 2 double beds or one king bed, also desk and chair and a small chaise lounge. Bathroom is small with shower over the bath. Turn down service in the evening brings bucket of ice. Various suites are available, even ones with grand piano! Club lounge has a spectacular view of Sydney Harbour and offers breakfast, snacks during the day and ... evening canapes and drinks from 5pm - 7pm. Service in the club is very efficient. Club access can be had with all room types for an additional charge. I have stayed here on a number of occasions in the last two years (paid stays, points stays and some discount program stays) and each time received exactly what I what I was entitled to without having to ask. read hotel review

The hotel as such is good enough, not the best InterContinental I've been to, as it's not too spectacular and starting to look a bit tired, but there's nothing wrong with it. Great were the service, swimming-pool overlooking the Opera House and Harbour bridge, Cortile Bar and especially the location, a few minutes away from all the above. Recommended, even if it's not cheap. read hotel review

Hotel is perfectly located in Circular quay, close to train, ferry and busses. Hotel is in good condition but is rather typical chain hotel. Nothing wrong with it but also nothing to wow you. With only exception - the top floor IC Club lounge (coming only with room package and can not be accesed separately). Views as well as set up was absolutely breathtaking. Breakfast and happy hour came in good quality. Great for watching the city below. It enriched so much our Sydney experience so we did not regret any extra money paid for it. In terms of room ... it was typical five star city hotel set up with comfortable bed and rather small and basic bathroom. read hotel review

The IC Sydney is located in the middle of town, just a stone's throw of darling harbor and the opera house. To the port are it maximally 5 minutes on foot. We had a superior room king -bed. The room was nice and big, had a very good, large bed and was tastefully decorated. The view was facing the city, better said to a high rise building opposite ( a room with view of the harbor was then too expensive). Unfortunately in the room rate no breakfast included in the price, although the for this price would have been appropriate. ... For that there was a daily newspaper every morning after choice on the room. The bathing area was I disappointed, since there for example no jacuzzi and the pool area ( indoor swimming pool) somewhat neglected worked, since towels herumlage and the couches cross and crosswise stood. Unfortunately we have us a cockroach from the pool field brought into the room. Well, at least the fantastic view from the pool over the complete port this area's highlights. Apart from that the hotel was but very clean and tidy. read hotel review

Very beautiful hotel in the best location downtown. A upgrage in the international club on the top floor is very recommendable. On the one hand you a superb views of the city, to the other you can not only ein'erstklassiges breakfast, but also during the day a drink and the view. The pool is not very big, but clean and also with city views. read hotel review

We were stunned, as we the room. Very nice room, large, welcoming with great views. It is very stylish equipped and very quiet. The bathroom was also very nice and contrary to some comments absolutely okay. The staff are very friendly. Only downsides are the prices for extras such as breakfast and cleaning. We thought it was overpriced. Location wise, the hotel is ideally located. read hotel review

The Intercontinental is great nearby the botanic gardens, the ferries, the opera House and harbor bridge. We recommend a room with a view of the bridge and the opera house. Within walking distance is 15 minutes in the city. All major transport Zentrum are only a couple of hundred meters away. For a city trip or a stopover in the best way suitably. read hotel review

The hotel is very centrally located, only a few steps away from the Circular QUI and opera house. From there you can travel by bus, ferry, and subway all of the attractions and beaches. I had a room on the 21st floor with a view of the city, very spacious, well furnished, and almost always perfectly clean. The hotel's facilities (sport, catering) I didn't use. There are countless restaurants and cafes in the immediate vicinity, but these are still very expensive (like most in Australia). The hotel is at walking distance from the center by foot. The staff was extremely ... friendly. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. read hotel review
