Very nice room (suite), excellent view to beach, large windows, large bathroom. Breakfast poor, incl. coffee. Need to pay every small service extra (fridge, internet, aircon). Poor service at reception and room cleaning. read more

Orca praia is one of the best located hotel which we have ever had. It is directly at the cliffs of funchal built and all rooms have a full view of the atlantic ocean. We stayed in a junior suite which was quite large, with a big balcony and bathroom. The rooms and the whole hotel are clean and tidy and the impression the you often be renovated. The majority of the guests is about 50 and above all from Germany. read more

    The rooms are the best at the hotel, bright, big and clean. They are however also as in a 3 star hotel equipped and orca praia is a 3 star hotel. No fridge, no kettle, no wi-fi, no a/c, there was a safe for a fee. The balcony is huge with chairs and table. The view of the see is fantastic. The bathroom is very big and there was shower gel, a hair-dryer and on request daily towel change. Everything is super clean and tidy.

    The hotel has a restaurant, a pool bar and a bar. In the restaurant we only ate for breakfast. This was for a 3 star hotel fully okay. Here were the waiters very friendly and the tables were quickly cleared away and the buffet again and again refilled. In the bar we went twice. The 2 time there was a local couple and the bar was well visited. The waiter had to the drinks and he was so lost. We waited for our first drink almost 20 minutes the ordered poncha was but then delicious. The prices were hotel typical.

    The only thing we at the hotel not so great found, was the reception. They spoke perfect german, our concerns were immediately taken care of, but all with a cool distance, so that one a small smile as effusive friendly found. Everyday the rooms were cleaned and everything was very clean. The four stars there is only because of the the front desk!

    From the airport to the hotel it is about 25 minutes (costs about 20-25€ with a taxi). The hotel is located right on the street to Funchal and a bus stop is in front of the hotel. By bus one is in 20 minutes walk to the av. Del mare (harbor, city center Funchal) on foot one is over the promenade quickly in camara de lobos (2 kilometer), there is a supermarket and some restaurants. The nearest restaurant from the hotel is only 200 meters away, it is the 'so espeto' and is can only be recommended. Further restaurants are to the left from the hotel at the waterfront.

We were for the 2. time in orca praia and it was once again great. Alone the location is worth 5 stars. The view of the atlantic ocean is fantastic. Also in the restaurant one has this panorama. The rooms are really big and well equipped; the bathroom is large and very nice modern renovated. You can at the pool bar sit with a view of the sea and the Cappuccino or you strolled on the waterfront until after camara de lobos and drink in one of numerous bars a poncha. The breakfast was great, however, we have to confirm ..., that the dinner clearly in taste and quality diminished-it must be a new chef soutenant?! You could indeed only overnight stay with breakfast book, if you a rental car has, can one everywhere great and affordable restaurants. read more

My partner and i had 2 great weeks in Madeira. The hotel orca praia is really recommendable and for me also more than just worth 3 stars. Big room, very decorated up to date (flat screen tv, walk in glaswanddusche ), very clean and tidy and the highlight: a huge terrace with a fantastic view of the sea, where one in the evening wonderful sunsets can. The average age in the hotel was at that point in time, when we were there, however very high. What i did not understand, because one already be good on foot must, in order ... to to the pool/ the beach promenade or the other direction the bus to come. These ways are also in the hotel description to find, so no point of criticism. As well as the complaints for breakfast: who informed, know, that on Madeira no value on breakfast is served. It is therefore almost always very simple and by history partially english. The hotel was fully booked and the breakfast room (with panoramic views on the sea) full, still were the staff very hard, to keep everything clean and the guests fast to serve. The location is not directly in Funchal, but there is a bus stop nearby. Because in Funchal currently a lot of construction going on, we were happy, away from the hustle and bustle and the direct 'hotel zone' to be. We always with a rental car drove (Forum Madeira circa 5-10 minutes away travel time). Restaurants nearby, the very recommendable are: 'so espeto' (for you carnivores) and at the sea along: ' docas do cavacas' (great seafood). read more

The hotel is due to its sea perfect location for people who a quiet hike to enjoy. The free bus transfer into town should more frequently drive, since it was often fully booked out! ( is however also no large problem, the public bus stops right in front of the hotel and istrecht cheap ( 1,6 Euro to the center from Funchal) read more

A great thing about the hotel is its location with the view of the atlantic ocean. The peace and quiet also the at night is excellent. The breakfast buffet should be improved. Here you have the opportunity, from the usual english to separate, the selection of cheese and sausage is monotonous. There are certainly also here the possibility, A little change to create. I was with my wife for the 3. time with half board in orca praira. After the renovation the hotel is nor beautiful became! The rooms are huge and with a 80 centimeter led tv equipped. Here every room lakeside with a big balcony. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is very good, with the restriction, the sausage in the morning to be desired left, only 2 sorts! But for a 3 star hotel just great! We'll be 2014 again! read more

The hotel is somewhat outdated, but overall very tidy. The cleanliness and the room service leaves nothing to be desired. The room is large and you have a fantastic view of the atlantic ocean. The beach promenade was very nice and it invites again and again to go on a stroll. The staff are rather reservedly however friendly and the foreign language skills are consistently good. For breakfast we would rather be in one of the numerous pastallarias gone, as in the dining room penetrateful tightness was. For a 3 star hotel the hotel is fine Pool and beach, as ... well as the garden are very beautifully designed. We can definitely recommend this hotel, but i would always a rental car rates read more

We ( 27 and 29 years old) were looking for a possibility, the winter to get away from it all & it is Madeira really ideal. The island itself, as well as the hotel have our expectations even exceeded. The surrounding restaurants, i would like to say the following: we knew, that this hotel a little 'off the beaten track' is, but to the advantage, that it very quiet is. You go from the hotel in the lowest floor, down to the pool and on the promenade way then to the left is situated about 5 minutes walk a very ... cozy restaurant with the possibility to sit outside and inside. The name is' praia formosa ' and there is a daily fresh fish offered, in the observation window select and be prepared. Also wifi is free listening. Price-performance ratio we thought was absolutely adequate. In the hotel we have never eaten, as low season and barely was going on. Otherwise, you can in the town from Funchal delicious food, but also there are exceptions. So a bit on the gut feeling hear. To the hotel there is nothing more to say, have no fault found. read more

The hotel was for our neuntÀgigen stay in size, since we don't like in big hotels are. At the cleanliness there is no reason to complain about. You saw every day the staff the complex clean held.     Very quiet, on the promenade. To camara de lobos siend it two kilometers of the beach promenade. Very nice road. Direction Funchal are lots of restaurants. Of five hundred meters to Funchal. As far as a stop the feet wear. Possibilities to book excursions at the strada monumental enough. Also you can rent cars, We would recommend, as you very much to do. The hotel lies directly at the bus stop. From here you can Funchal with a map for the bus the one in the hotel or in Funchal good everywhere.

    The sand-gravel beach one should definitely shoes with you. The water temperature was 18 °c and how some baden seen. At the beach promenade along nicely after camara de lobos hiking and stay there, or in the evening to eat a small walk â˜ș We were but mostly in the small yellow house on the left from the hotel only a few minutes away. Great kitchen and super of the terrace sit and food. Amm departure day we are again short the stairs up and at the levada along, the offers great views and we would have liked to have gone further, but the plane called. In the 10 days we had great weather, so 21 °c and no hint of rain, it could not be better!

The hotel is on the outskirts of the town from Funchal, about 2 kilometers away of camara de lobos. Funchal is good reachable by bus, the stop is before the hotel and the bus runs every half hour (on sunday every hour ) every room has a view of the ocean. The beach promenade goes exactly at the hotel over. The room size is sufficient. We were with schauinsland-travel and have a good experience. The tourist guide locally all of our questions Since we were there for 8 weeks stayed, we had concerns, whether it be the right choice. During ... the entire duration of our trip, we had no complaints. The rooms were always clean and neat. The average age was more older guests. It were but also young people and in the holidays children. The guests came from many countries. Who english speaks is at an advantage, it is but also german. At least in the hotel one can inform oneself. Exceptional questions helps the travel guide. We only booked with breakfast and were very satisfied. German tv channels could have been better, also the possibility the internet access wasn't optimal (too expensive). Water. At the start our stay was leaving and entering of the hotel a bit of a drag, because access to the street and to the pool or sea rather steep. Despite all we did felt good.     The size of the room was our expectations. We had some time before our arrival around a double bed requested, as the rooms only with single beds were offered. Our wish was fulfilled without any additional costs. Additional amenities such as a mini bar or kettle was possible, but we didn't need. The selection of german tv channels didn't meet our needs. We have little remote, but at night you could nevertheless times a werbefreien channels in addition desired. We only booked with breakfast here there were different bread, rolls, sausage, cheese and many more everything was always fresh!.     Our room was on the 10 floor directly under the dining room of this bothered us not but people the longer want to sleep should know it from 6:30 a. m. from above already times louder. The medium-sized balcony our room had a table and two chairs. From here we could daily the sunrise. - and decline including sound track.     The location is wonderful nice directly at the rushing atlantic And away from the road noise here you will find peace you on vacation looks for. You are in about 2 kilometer the beach promenade in the fishing village of camara de lobos there are shopping and restaurants. To Funchal you can depending on how far you want to walk also. The bus stop into the city drive is right at the hotel bus tickets you get in the hotel. Trips are everywhere in Funchal bookable.

We were there at the beginning of january 3-12 the orca praia, had booked a suite with a approximately 37 metersÂČ really very big and spacious was. The hotel is in a very good condition and with its 3 stars very well equipped. We had only booked breakfast and it was really good. Evenings you could eat in the small fishing village camara de lobos good about 2 kilometer on the promenade walk, there were some restaurants the very delicious food had for example villa do peixe or Coral directly at the small church (both recommendable), the way in the ... dark back was well manageable, as the promenade very good was lit. Towards the Funchal it was about 6 kilometer on the promenade: the food praia formosa approximately 500 meters from the hotel you can also recommend. We only fish on the island eatenvery recommendable degenfich with banana and maracujasoße, hmm delicious. The weather for beginning january was simply great about 20 degrees times sun times cloudy, not a hint of rain thin jacket us evenings enough. We can Island of Madeira and the Hotel Orca Praia absolutely recommend. We come back certainly sometime once again here. read more
