The hotel is situated in a very cute and well-kept town with easy access to Funchal. Santa Cruz has a nice promenade with well kept gardens and a playground. In the direct vicinity of the hotel are located in the town center various bars and restaurants, in which you can eat very well, if you from the unilateral dinner in the hotel enough has. The buffet in the evening at villa gale quite small, little varied and rather poor quality. The salad buffet is merely from field salad, gherkins, Carrots and tomatoes, as well as from changing Mischsalaten, in which ... you could get the rest of the food of the leftovers from RN. The warm buffet is standardsiert on fries, pasta and rice. In addition there was soup, lukewarm meat or fish with vegetables. Sauces to pasta or rice in vain. Merely the typical ibizan buffet on Wednesday evening to match a four-star hotel. We could the food to no more sometime see and preferred to eat at local restaurants eaten.
The location, size, cleanliness and pool area of the hotel were whereas completely fine. From the adjoining airport one also hardly noticed. Who spa area and above all the fitness center want to use, must be based on a daily fee of 11 Euro set. Einzeltarife for the fitness center there are unfortunately not. Spa treatments (we have manicure and pedicure made) are little professional. The hygiene leaves during the treatments as well as to be desired. read more

The hotel has a pleasant size and therefore seemed not at all crowded. The rooms have almost all partial or direct view of the ocean. Very pleasant are the small details in the rooms, as a decent federbettdecke, makeup mirror, and a very well-functioning hair dryer.

During our vacation on Madeira we had, as we had hoped, very hot and sunny summer weather. In the sea with about 24 °C temperature of the water and hardly any waves very well swim, after you via a ladder (the time should be renewed) on concreted diving platform in the neighboring bathing area has been reached.
We would not return half board book, because especially the dinner buffet as regards variety and taste in our opinion for a four-star hotel in this price range very much room for improvement is. So for us the value for money ( drinks ... included) not vote. You could restaurants outside of the hotel at half price ( respectively clearly less) better food. You should know, before you book.
We loved the offer of the hotel, with the free shuttle bus to Funchal and again back. read more

Very nice well-maintained hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food was good, should however somewhat abwechslungsreichr are. The approaching Airplanes did not bother us. The proximity to the airport and the resultant short transfer we highly appreciated that. Have always public bus to Funchal use; is an experience. Furthermore recommendable a rental car. In the hotel garage are enough PP available ( subject to a charge). We will be 2013 book again. read more

The variety of very good reviews in our experience prior to from the hotel convinced. In reality, but you have to say, that the reviews in terms of the food couldn't understand. The choices and also the quality of the dishes corresponded in our opinion not a four-star hotel. This has the altogether good impression of the hotel noticeably troubled. read more

It was a great vacation, the hotel I would recommend at any time. The vicinity of the airport we as found very pleasant. The short transfer was super. The departures and arrivals of planes to watch was always a successful variety. The kindness and cleanliness in the hotel is excellent. We had only booked accommodation and breakfast, this us unfortunately not 100% -iG promised. The selection of sweet Spreads was bad, the three types of sausage were the whole week the same. The warm dishes for breakfast were hardly seasoned. The is however already the only thing which when not ... so good to mention. read more

We were because of a round trip only one night in this hotel, however it is very clean and the room is big enough. The breakfast is very good, varied, with everything that you need, eggs (in all varieties ), yoghurt, sausage, cheese, jams, rolls, cakes, fruits and there are even sparkling wine.
Dinner we have unfortunately not on site restaurant, but were right in the village food, which was too small/ normal prices was very good.
At the front desk they were very accommodating. read more

On arrival we felt immediately in good hands. The employees were all very friendly, with
English one everywhere further.
The room was nicely equipped. The extra bed is however not suitable for large persons ( turned our daughter feast). Unfortunately were bad free (at all ) parking spaces to find. The shuttle bus to Funchal should be very promptly reserved, particularly the morning Times, taxi is however really cheap ( best fixed price negotiate, our driver got us to the agreed time again at the same place from).
Had this year only booked half board, was absolutely sufficient. In comparison ... to earlier hotels in this week no repeated meals. Only my strawberry jams I missed.
The bar we evenings hardly used, in the town you will find a walk always a comfortable spot at the end of the evening (and cheaper). Otherwise was us after 2 days this ' 24 -constant stream with wellness jazz, -soul, -blues and which also immer' on the cookie.
Apart from that we would like to have liked to have stayed longer. Oh, and since we in the morning at 7:00 o'clock already to the airport had, we could then already earlier in the breakfast room, since this only at 7:00 o'clock opens.
In short: vacation was, as always, too short. Would book this hotel again. read more

A wonderful hotel complex with a view of the start-and landing strip. We have the 'air show' not disturbing. The number of flights limits and at night is anyway peace. There are some good restaurants in town, the quality was very good and the at reasonable prices. The extra charge for the view of the sea is worthwhile. We had a hired car and were up to a exception ( Outward journey with the taxi after Ribeiro Frio ) with the public transport links on the way. There is also a free hotel shuttle to Funchal. The reservation one should ... already a couple of days before active. read more

We went on a last-minute trip for this hotel decide, because holiday-check a high proportion of the further recommendation had, and are not disappointed have been, so we the hotel best conscience further-recommend. Also close proximity to airport and the einschwebenden planes didn't bother us.
On the gastronomic offer we were in the first dinner a bit disappointed, because it is not the other four star hotels known variety of dishes available beach. However was the quality good and the dishes fresh and tasty. read more

Great hotel, very recommendable.
Huge minus: for the failure of flights on nearby airport many of the in this hotel accommodated. During our 9-day stay this is twice happened. This twice it was disastrous dinner, since this (on 200 persons!) concurrently with we to evening to eat. The actual hotel guests we sometimes hour long wait for a table. read more

In this complex it is a in the year 2005 built hotel. In general the hotel is recommendable, what me and my wife however not really revealed is the Philosophies of the hotel. But, the one on the 'encircling' vacation power, is on the complex songs nothing to say. In the lobby they are no flowers to expect. Everything seemed very clean but sterile as in a OP hall! As mentioned no atmosphere in the whole hotel. With the selection of the meals I expect however for a four star hotel a bit more. The all-evening show cooking there is ... instead of, however you have to be lucky just to be there, if he is present, otherwise disappears cook and ward for minutes not more to see. Then you have to get from 2-3 courts operate. Note: it is anytime again refilled. We would the hotel not book no more, as specified in the entry lane is, what not always disturbs but muted anytime again by starting and landing machines annoying, depending on what side of the wind. read more
