My deepest impression of Savista during the time I stayed here is the idea of peace and relaxation. I have done some traveling and have stayed at different hotels, but Savista has given me a feeling that is unlike any others. It wasn't just a place to stay for the night, although it may be for some. It felt more like a vacation all in of itself. There are many ways to relax and simply enjoy the peace of the surrounding environment. Everyone is very nice and accommodating, ready to lend a hand, an advice, or even a smile. The ... place is gorgeous with simple white exteriors that allow natural light to breathe life into the place. The rooms are each unique and created with detail, as each room is done with a different theme of color from the local environment. In such a beautiful place, there are more than enough places to relax, whether it's on the rooftop with views of lush green tree tops and different melodies from birds, on the balcony overlooking the courtyard, on the side of the large freshwater pool, or even just inside of the many comfortable lounges.
Savista is truly a place for the soul to rest, refresh, and renew itself. read more

Imagine you had to rate and review your childhood home - a place of love and peace, where your every need was met and you learned so much about yourself and the world around you. That is the task I am faced with here, as I am writing about Savista Retreat where I stayed for 7 nights in February 2012. But I shall try to be objective.
As a part of my stay, I had booked a yoga-and-massage-detox package. I learned so much about healthy eating, yoga and the balance of mind and spirit. It was rewarding beyond expectations, but ... even if you are not up for the detox programme there are plenty of reasons to stay at Savista. The surroundings are beautiful as is the hotel itself. And the Jaipur region offers many sights to see and excellent Indian shopping, which my friend an I discovered on our outings with the personal driver, the hotel has provided for us. But the best experiences of my stay were "back home" at Savista. The sun there is as bright as the smiles on the faces of the local Indian women who work at Savista and who took my friend and I on a tour of the surroundings and bestowed upon us the honor of showing us their homes. I am so thankful for this memorable experience that I would never have gotten anywhere else. And the food!! I could go on and on about how excellent it is! If staying there, do eat at Savista. It's the best food I had on my entire trip and it is served poolside in the candlelight.
A final mention should be given to our hosts who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable at all times. When a sudden, unusual, and very unexpected cold front made it a little cold inside the palace, they made sure heaters were in place. When I was so unfortunate as to fall and hit my head, our hosts themselves drove me to their own doctor to make sure that I was okay! They are the nicest, warmest people you could imagine as hosts.
In short, I recommend Savista with all my heart. Stay there and get an experience that you will carry with you a lot longer than the beautiful tan you can also acquire. You might even be as lucky as l have been and find a place in a far away land that you can call home. read more

A few good friends of mine had stayed at Savista Retreat before and highly recommended it for it's simplicity and quiet-- and after staying there, I have to agree. It's a perfect way to get out of the hustle and bustle of urban India and enjoy some quiet time in the countryside. That said, expect to have to slow down and enjoy the little things, there are no big frills here- walks in the countryside, camel rides, afternoons on the roof with a book and pool time are the most eventful of available activities. The staff are wonderfully friendly and ... helpful, and will cook you delicious local meals! read more

Choosing Savista Retreat you should forget all about the concepts you know, when you think about a hotel. This is your 'home away'. Savista is a peaceful, charming, rural, spacious place runned by the most loving, knowledgeable and interesting hosts - sort of an extended family, I would say!!
We stayed for 7 nights in Februrary 2012 which included the 3 nights/4 days package 'Introduction to detox and yoga'. The contents of these days were planned in details together with the hostess in order to ensure that it was in line with our expectations and knowledge about the subjects. It ... was very rewarding for me, giving me easy, basics and even fun tools to take with me home and 'implement' in my busy everydaylife.
During our stay we unfortunately had to go to the doctor, but thanks to our hosts we felt very safe and very well taken care of.
Getting to know the hosts was as rewarding as getting new friends! So if you are looking for quiet, comfort and rural surrondings with extended personal service, Savista is the place to go. read more

Rural Peace of Mind

Savista Retreat was my home away from home for about two weeks this past January. I honestly can’t say enough about the place. The haveli is a beautifully kept piece of family history, and the rooms within are spacious, comfortable, clean, and meticulously decorated with impressive antique finds and locally fabricated furnishings. The whole place is gorgeous at night, and the common square or accessible upper terrace are great places to sit and observe the luminous night sky only rural Rajasthan can provide.
Staying at Savista is completely unlike staying in any other hotel. It’s more like a home-stay, as ... you quickly become aware of the feeling of family or community that permeates the place. The staff is approachable and considerate, and they are always willing to help, provide, or join in conversation. What makes Savista most comfortable is knowing that you have a welcoming and intellectually stimulating community to come back to after a day of exploring. It’s common for Savista’s staff and guests to gather for time together on a nightly basis, and I think that is a primary reason that guests often extend their stays.
Savista offers an impeccable amount of services and comforts to all guests as well. The minute luxuries of Western life are well accounted for, including safe tap water, reliable hot water and electricity, and clean (dry) bathrooms with all the Western amenities. Savista’s food is delicious, authentic, and usually made by employees from the surrounding villages. Savista can also provide massages, camel cart rides, organized expeditions to surrounding areas, or informal advice as to the best walks around the local farmland.
Although Savista is technically a 15 minute ride from Jaipur, the distance is welcomed. Reaching Jaipur for the day is easy and hassle free, and Savista is always happy to organize drivers for excursions. Guests have the freedom to enjoy the perks of Jaipur while having a safe, quiet, impeccably clean and utterly beautiful place to return to in the evening, which is impossible to find within the city. Savista’s surroundings are gorgeous and offer a great taste of village or farm life to compare with one’s experiences in Jaipur or other Indian cities. In my mind, waking up to roosters and goats will always be favorable over car horns and traffic.
I’d recommend staying at Savista to anyone. The Retreat and the landscape offer a peace of mind that is hard to find elsewhere in India. Having returned to the states, I often find myself missing the place and its people like I miss my home and my family. read more
