The hotel was in a fantastic location directly above the beach, about 135 steps to reach. The staff was very friendly and could the most important words of german. Portugal is a very clean country - we were thrilled, it also in the hotel so tidy was. At the front desk they spoke perfect german. At our time of travel at the end of february/beginning march the hotel was about half booked. Due the buffet somewhat small, the food tasted delicious. The prices a drink with a star hotel in Germany compare. We had a room with a magnificent view ... of the sea and the sunrise. If you like on the balcony sits, should so a room not to be missed. Wireless internet in the room worked very well, but has its price 1 week 25,00 Euro/1 day 8,00 Euro. You can also on the 1. floor in the room-there are books to the internet. The costs and a half hour 2,00 Euro/ ¼ hour 1,50 Euro. An indoor pool with jacuzzi and saunas was open.
Mostly had the hotels and restaurants still closed-but understandable -15-16 degrees and cold wind you could only in a windless corner in the bikini bearable. Of our ten days there, we had three days cloudy with a few rain.
Tip: who Algarve time to see would like, should in any case rent a car and this period flies. The beaches were lonely, cities not overcrowded and you came for hiking in the mountains not sweat. Great vacation! read more

Centrally located between Albufeira and vilamoura, is the location of the hotel at the Algarve great, scenic red rocky coast is in inviting sandy beaches! The hotel breathes friendly, peaceful atmosphere, a place to relax but also with great infrastructure for (sports ) excursions in the area. I came as nosier guest and i am as convinced 'Porto Bay' botschaferin left. Shush read more

Great hotel with very naturally friendly and helpful staff, as we rarely experienced it. We were in the great hotel a week guest and felt from the first minute welcome and very well looked after.
Already in the morning could the extensive and diverse breakfast buffet extensive feasted are. The staff in the restaurant it was really easy to a good start in the day. Friendliness and courtesy are here not only cliches. It is lived.
The rooms were thoroughly cleaned. The towels in the bathroom were cleaned every day without asking. The design of the beds to the changing ... left and other times a smile in our faces drag. Thanks for a great stay in spite of the rainy weather.
We will definitely come back again. read more

Great hotel in amazing location. We have the holidays and the new year here. The weather was top, but for swimming too cold. By car there is much to explore and experience. Unfortunately because of the nebensaison little eating options, strolling and so on in the immediate vicinity. Since many things was closed.
The hotel itself can only be recommended. Room was great (sea view only, with very much surcharge), food was really tasty, all employees very friendly. Every evening a live band. Two restaurants and two bars. Otherwise there was also a lot to offer. Sauna, indoor pool, gym ... and so on only one negative: extra cost for everything. Sauna cost specially, rackets rental, specially and so on if you are not on the hottest time of the year there was, it is probably a wonderful swimming vacation. read more

The Porto Bay Falesia was already described in detail. We knew it from previous stays (as Riu-hotel) and wanted to this year christmas once there. We know lots of hotels at the Algarve, but this had the most beautiful location. The garden is beautiful and has a corner, from the you a great view on the entire beach has. But you should consider, that there are a lot of steps walk down must, the circa 6 kilometer long Falesia-beach with breathtaking cliffs to reach. Mitte december the hotel was as good as empty. The first surprise we have the peace ... and quiet - also in the food good. Only the christmas came more guests. read more

The hotel was fully booked in the first week of October, crowded the dining room was in the morning battle at the buffet: the has extremely annoyed, for such masses was the dining-hall simply not appropriate. Otherwise the hotel is a riesenmoloch, in the earlier certainly quite beautiful countryside, ( unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately, that Portugal here again and again its crown jewels scattered.).
Only the back the flatter hotel buildings to the pool is nice: has wonderful aussichtsterrassen on the bay, a nice pool bar and a beautiful exotic garden. It is directly down to the beach; but be ... careful: the way is not so and requires fitness (stair rise with heat not so pleasant.). The rooms in the back part of the hotel are much more expensive and were allegedly not more free, in readiness the extra charge to pay. The long beach is uniquely beautiful with the rock formations. The front part of the hotel with view of the town and the other hotels (2 not less ugly buildings of Riu hotels ruin the view amongst others) one could forget: balcony at balcony with guaranteed views of the neighborhood. Nice is something different! read more

For gehbeginderte is this hotel only limitedly recommendable, since rails in the direction rezeptioneingang, as well as to outside in the direction hotel completely missing, here would mindestensjweils to hotel entrance and a railing very the needs of the older generation be welcome.
If the prices for the mini bar around some be reduced may, then would hardly someone his drinks, water juices etc. From the supermarket and get the hotel would a bit more turnover transact. read more

Summer extension in October at the algarve cliffs

Over Lissabon and about 2 hours on the highway we traveled for 6 nights at the wonderful algarve cliffs. The Porto Bay Falesia is located in a town next to Albufeira, above the coast. In the city itself there are shops, restaurants, pubs and so on - in October is not any longer completely so much loose and open-for us it was however just perfect and quiet.
The hotel lies with the two Riu hotels and the Falesia mar in a small settlement. The check in is quick, we got our standard gartenblickzimmer booked number 566 which equipped with everything ... is, what a room in the 4 star area, should ( I would like to highlight the good toiletries from ritual in the bathroom). Whoever can afford it must, should a sea view room reserve, as the views over the coast grandios is unique and the rooms but some quiet are. The garden view rooms you can hear partly the bus and departing guests, trash collection at night etc. - if you with the window open sleep, this is a bit annoying.
Breakfast is in buffet form served in the restaurant and from the terrace you have a wonderful view over the pool, the lawn and the sea. The service is quick and very accommodating.
Chairs are by the pool and on the beautiful lawn sufficiently available. Everywhere there are comfortable spot under pine trees which relax can. We were mostly lunch by the pool and in the afternoon are we then to short hike to the beach broken into and then the 8 kilometer long sandy beach along hiking. Tip: in the morning, when the tide is, it can be great in the nebenbuchtenzu walk and for child and it is an experience the ausgespülten caves to discover. Water temperature: pool about 19 degrees, sea about 21 degrees.
Sport: tennis court -10,50 per hour in the hotel - that is somewhat a pity. Golf: countless places for all the pockets ( San Lorenzo 160 Euro for 18 hole). In the hotel are furthermore different activities as water aerobics etc. Offered.
Tips: restaurant tres marias, restaurant A ruina in Albufeira, beer garden villa vita in porches, beach at the hotel quinta do lago ( wonderful with beach pub Gigi' s).
We have the stay in the Porto Bay Falesia very much and thank again to the whole team. read more

The hotel is not too big so no classic barracks. The first impression internally and externally confirmed very fast; everything well maintained, no visible flaws. Cleanliness of all the facilities and of the pool exemplary.
Because there was no all inclusive offered, must also nobody for fourteen days with these ugly colourful bracelets around.
The average age of the guests is probably with 60 and best be described. read more

Porto Bay Falesia is well suited for a relaxing vacation with long walks on the beach. The view from the hotel is dreamlike. The beach kilometer and very clean. We had a superior -room on the 4th floor with a view of the sea and a massive roof terrace, the however somewhat carelessly equipped. The room was big enough, but the schrankanordnung and the other ablagflächen rather insjnl and well planned. Hangers for clothes are missing, although space enough available is. The beds are comfortable. The food is not always the 4 star rating, but the fish dishes all were ... very good, the meat was rather average. Breakfast leaves nothing to the imagination. There is every evening live music, in the 4th floor still to be heard, but no more mind. German tv with 5 channels! read more

The hotel is in a very good condition. The staff (whatever tasks they had ) were all very friendly. The food was magnificent. Our room was a bit small and the location directly through of the kitchen of the hotel was of course not pleasant. Some noise and smell disturbance, as unfortunately not from. We have complained and after another room asked. read more

A very pleasant hotel, the especially older guests because of its distinguierten peace destination. Needs improvement would be a free wi-fi-access in any area of the hotel. Also should have the sauna at certain times be free of charge.
The exposed location of the hotel on the edge of the cliff is hard to beat. read more

We were from 24-09-2012 until 03-10-2012 in this hotel and more than satisfied! The hotel made equal at the check-in a friendly, pleasant and clean impression, in the coming days has not changed.
The shopping opportunities in the area are okay, one had a small mini-market ( however with everything that you need) directly opposite of the hotel. Other shops you will find, if you a street walk down ( however also not far).
In the hotel there are tennis courts and every day different animation offers (yoga, water aerobics eTC., even Portugisich for beginner).
Because we unfortunately at two ... days bad weather had, we have the swimming pool and the jacuzzi try. The swimming pool is not huge, but OK. There, there are also a sauna and various spa treatments.
The distance to the beach I with rather poorly, but if you good on foot, the 134 steps at all not a problem! You happy even a little movement after the great food!-) for dinner was every evening another motto: Spanish, times Portuguese, once Brazilian and always really delicious! Also the breakfast: every day sparkling wine, from time to time freshly squeezed orange juice and milkshakes and always fresh fruits!
The beach is exceptionally beautiful (8 kilometer length!).
In conclusion can be said: great hotel, great food and a dreamlike beach! Can only be recommended! read more

The hotel is located beautiful by the steep coast. To the very nice beach one goes one the stairs (which is not hard) down.
The hotel has the pool- and gardens very nice laid out. Which we highly pleased, were the different possibilities at the edge of the cliffs with a glass of sparkling wine(or coffee) on sea hinauszusehen and relax. read more

We were nights with breakfast for 4 adults in this hotel.
It is a relatively large hotel.
We were lucky and got at check in a room-upgrade to a somewhat larger room. Very nice!
The room was very well maintained and had a large double bed with good mattresses.
The balcony was unfortunately somewhat small we found.
A safe was in the closet available, costs: 1,50 Euro per day.
Well stocked mini bar-pricey, of course.
TV with ARD, ZDF, RTL, satellite. 1 and ProSieben.
Coffee machine.
Bathroom with bathtub was clean and good.
Our room was on the 2nd ... floor facing the land side.
Unfortunately fraud the average age to 80% 55 to 70 years.
Since we had very young at heart 47-years-old are, we have it unfortunately evenings in the bar at the live music to feel.
And even by the pool and at the buffet.
Very many germans pensioners.
But nevertheless no 'reserved loungers'. There were also enough available.
Almost no children. read more
