Hotel Nord consists of 8 very clean and comfortable rooms. We stayed in a room with a terrace, 4-poster bed, TV/Internet/free Wifi and en-suite bathroom. The decor was warm and inviting. Breakfast was served downstairs, in the dining room over-looking the patio garden that had pretty shrubs and flowers plus comfortable seating although the weather was a little too chilly for sitting outside! Dinner can also be reserved the day before and is a fixed menu. On our second night, we ate at the hotel and it was delicious - the Mallorcan soup really hit the spot! The hotel guests ... were young and old perhaps ranging between 20-50 years old, mostly German. The main reception area included a living area with sofa and armchairs. However, next to the patio garden we disovered another living room with CD player, log burner, more armchairs - a relaxing place to sit and do quiet reading at the end of the day. read more

There is one main restaurant (Montimar) and 2 tapas bars, Vall Hermos and La Sanca (although we avoided the latter as it seemed pretty empty most of the time). Vall Hermos has a large terrace overlooking the valley and the sea and serves tapas between 10am and 8pm (open until 11pm on Saturday). It's always busy with locals and tourists alike. On the day of our arrival, because it was very late, we walked to Pitzzeria Giardini about 400m back along the main road and enjoyed a lovely meal.

The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and patient with our limited Spanish (anyway the owner speaks very good English)!

There is no pool but on a hot day, you can walk down to the shingle beach (about 20 minute walk) and have a dip in the crystal clear waters.

Estellencs is a beautiful village with picturesque views of the mediterranean and bus routes into nearby larger towns such as Banyalbafur and Andratz. There are many walks in the mountains, some gentle some harder. If you rent a car (we didn't) it is very easy to get around. It is not possible to hire bicycles in Estellencs but the bus service is reliable if you want to explore further afield. There is a shingle beach about 20 minute walk down the valley.
