The Mimosa lodge is a as a highlight our South Africa journey advertised and were high our expectations. We were then but badly disappointed. We were greeted by the senior chef greets, the us then proudly the awards who the hotel and the restaurant has received, presented. After check-in we had to leave our bags without help the steep stairs high schleppen. In the corridor i noticed immediately the dirty soil. Our room was actually really beautiful but was the toilet not really clean. Then we wanted to in the pool cool off. This was however much too warm, so ... that the refreshment lack. There were only very uncomfortable beach chairs available and when we after an umbrella asked, we were told that somewhere on the property a would be. We booked this ourselves and to. Pool screeching. The garden is nice but not very well maintained. The evening food was then ok but certainly not the haute cuisine the chef announced. We stayed on our trip many other accommodation and the Mimosa lodge was one of the worse. Especially the service was below average. read more

Nice hotel in a historic property. Very well-kept garden. The pool was OK, but a target couples. Excellent cuisine, an aperitif before the food,. Room large, bright in the African style furnished beautiful. Bathroom modern and very clean. The place worth seeing. For us a successful stay. read more

A nice little city hotel, if one can call Montagu as a city. We were on a night passing through and have stayed in a garden suite. On our request, a room close to the restaurant to get to reach awesome, was great. Food and service were wonderful. Also the breakfast was very good. The cleanliness of the room (number 2) was not so ideal, the overall decor was something 'worn'. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we have spent a wonderful evening with very nice other travellers.
Only the host, the hike only at breakfast the next ... morning was here, was very rude, in a bad mood, greeted us every day and not on, as we a roll of breakfast for the transfers to. read more

The best lodge on the whole south africa travels with an excellent kitchen. Quiet, cosy and typically African room, huge bathroom and nice, sweet-smelling soaps from our own factory. read more

The lodge is located in a very beautiful environment. The room are in a very good condition and are cleaned daily. The general condition of the hotel is really very good, the residences are distributed in a very nice enclosed. The food is plentiful and very tasty breakfast, with a four course menu dinner the lodge for a great diversity of food and beverage choices.

The front desk in the mimosa was rustic, warm and family.
After check-in we were shown to our rooms in the new building in the garden.
These were on the first floor and just great! Spacious room, new and beautiful decor.
Also the bathroom was big (plenty of space and large shower). Fresh fruit, wine and water were available.
The large terrace with wonderful view was another highlight.
The dress code for dinner (long pants for the), 35° daytime temperature in was not so great.
With the dinner-main course had we something pitch (long wait and not even), the other ... courses were good.
The mimosa-wine we found very good.
The breakfast buffet was very rich (again real bread and cheese in the right)! read more

We had booked a garden suite in the mimosa lodge, this is why our information on this. The suite was overlooking the back garden and therefore the room is absolutely in a quiet location. The room is very large and with a free safe, as well as radio and CD player. On arrival there were fresh fruit, and a small carafe wine on the table with. The bathroom is very spacious and with toilet, bath tub and a very large shower. Since we our accommodation on the ground floor, we heard the us unfortunately each step the residents waiter named ... (was but not extremely disturbing). The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired (cereal, sausage, cheese, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juices.) eigerichte, and Teeoder coffee are served. We have booked for dinner and wine the dine. This is a not very cheap (R. 330-per person) it is but worth it. The welcome is served in the bar an aperitif. Four major menu, which perfect was, you get to each course the matching wine with the 'declaration'. After the food is it at the bar or coffee. Montagu offers not very much for things to do. Only an attraction are the Avalon springs (hot springs). We were disappointed something to visit, however, as all days guest not be used. This is the guests reserved.
