Generally speaking, Sofitel on the Collins is pretty good for its location. It locates on so-called Paris end, which is in the city center.
The service is good, especially the concierge is very available for any help. Rooms are very spacious and bathroom is great.
In this hotel, they do not offer SAUNA service, which made us disappointed.
In general, this hotel is well recommended. read more

In the lower floors of the hotel there are various shops. In front of the door many trams, tickets can be purchased at the hotel. The city center is within walking distance. The breakfast room has a wonderful view. It wasn't missing anything. In the same area one can eat dinner be, which was very tasty but incredibly expensive is. read more

Mid-february stayed three nights we for the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.
The hotel is very centrally located and all the sights are easily to reach. The historical tram (free of charge) for sightseeing in the immediate vicinity from.
The reception of the hotel is in the first floor a shopping mall, what but not disturbing. The lady at the front desk was not very friendly, however.
Our room was in the 47. Floor and had a good view. The room size was good, the facilities not brand new but some signs still acceptable. The same goes for the bathroom without ... shower only with tub.
Bad is the technical service of the room, for example TV and light. The whole is controlled via a touch screen. Without the guidance is but nothing to do. And the TV is very uncomfortable control.
The breakfast is very good, although also nothing special. The first morning we had to wait 15 minutes, however, until a place was free. The re-filling the buffet also not always succeed.
All in all, we would choose another stay in a another hotel in Melbourne, although the Sofitel is not really bad. read more
