The hotel itself is basic standard, breakfast moderate but ok. Inside it made a good impression but with some flaws. Minibar not filled and cool off. Was with a colleague, in his room there was a dead Kakerlak, leaving the whole bathroom floor gewassert but it is cleaned every day and beds made. Wireless worked until after 3 attempts the connection to the internet very poor and slow. read more

The hotel is suitable for a one-night stopover in Athens, in the framework of a bathing vacation etc. main drawback is the noise. We requested when booking requested a quiet room, we were allocated one facing the street. There was at least 24 o 'clock and from six o' clock by traffic noise (garbage trucks, mopeds, etc.) not really good night's sleep. The isolierfenster Windows as excluded from. Less noise sensitive people could well on the hotel Marina. The breakfast was modest, but adequate; overall irrelevant for us. The blankets, the fresh temperatures in addition at the sleep a ... bit used, a little musty and not freshly washed.
All in all, we have stayed in Athens or Piraeus clearly better, although the price was low (48.00 euro for the double room). In hindsight we would have rather paid ten NIS 15 euros more in another house. Dads hotel is however not a disaster and for a one-night stopover acceptable. You should ask specifically to a room at the check in, that is not facing the street. (We had neglected the.) read more

Ignoring the first impression from outside the hotel, because it is not the newest one, you will find an Aveyron to whom you all you need for a stay in the center of Athens. Good service, clean rooms with AC spacy, good breakfast and most importand-the central location. read more

The hotel is in very good condition. Staff works very hard to help you with anything you might need (only in English). The room is very clean careful with drinking water (very chlorinated), air conditioner didn't work as it was over 40 degrees. Breakfast was ok normal breakfast as we all daily to take us. read more

After the evaluation of Sven ( March 09) we could actually need to be warned, but as the other glowing reviews rather good and we don't sensitive, we for our stop-over from the Cyclades booked the hotel Marina in Athens. With a reservation HRS ( where the hotel was also very good review) we thought we couldn't go wrong. On our arrival then the shock: The hotel had said to be no reservation from hrs normally. The gentleman at the front desk - who had while entering this rather suspiciously extremely critical - that was very rude and us only ... after argy ( copy of the HRS confirm and our passports) the room available for us. For dinner we decided to walk the 20 minutes walk in the Plàka. Directly in front of the hotel were used on the sidewalk Fixbestecke around, and we had to our way through 20-30 -member Streetgangs trains. A feel like you in New York clueless in the Bronx side. First at the platia Iroon calm set a bit. Back then we went a detour through the Athinas - even better would probably be a taxi. Our room was street side and there in accordance with a lot of noise, had to keep the windows closed at night - although the street itself was almost free from traffic was The hotel itself might - except for the for Greeks totally not typical rude front desk staff - quite ok, but on a city break you just not there. I personally would never stay there again and would recommend it to anyone else! read more

I'm very sorry for the hotel but I have to write about the region where it's situated. I haven't had any problem with Marina Hotel, it's quite good, the staff is friendly and helpful, it's close to the main touristic points of interest. The breakfast is not a big thing but it's ok.
The very big problem is the zone where it is. It's a decadent part of Athens. To walk from the Omonia Square (metro station) to the hotel is a nightmare! There are drug dealers, prostitutes, people using drugs on the streets in the light of the day ..., etc etc. There are even cabs that won't bring you there. I was threw out of a taxi because the driver didn't want to enter the hotel street and I also had my wallet stolen on the metro station. read more

The hotel has a decent value. We 41.00 EUR per night for one double room incl. Breakfast for 2 for 1 night. The room was functional, not worn and clean. However, the front desk staff extremely rude to us. We were at any time one of ignored all the time. The breakfast is minimal did not very much. Extreme Caution is offered on leaving the hotel! It is located in a favorable location but in a drug and Dealerviertel. Definitely not the area around the street enter Sofokleus opposite the hotel! There is shady people around. read more

Hotel Marina ideal for city break archived

The 3 -star "Marina" hotel has a superb location for a trip in a vast array of location Athens to do. Because it is about 5 min walk from the metro station "Omonia" ( lines 1 and 2 ). You don't need to Piraeus longer than 20 minutes and to the Syntagma or to the Acropolis are also very near two or three Metro stops away. The biggest attraction Athens, the Acropolis, is just about 700 meters from the hotel and therefore also within easy walking distance. CONCLUSION: The "Marina" hotel is an ideal base for exploring the city without ... your feet to miss-mosh walk! Although the hotel is in a slightly more seedy side street. You should be unterred by that, however, because even nicer hotel entrance, with a view of the lobby make their first impression quickly disappeared. three star The hotel has been recently remodeled and is very friendly and comfortably furnished. The lobby has an Internet access (3€/h) as well as a drink and confectionary machines. There are also two elevators in the hotel. Concerning the room I can only give a review to our double room. This was very comfortably furnished, had a spacious closet, balcony, TV, mini bar, hair-dryer, shampoo, soap, shower gel. There were also fresh towels every day and the beds were always made. The bathroom was very clean upon check-in, but it was definitely not cleaned during our stay. CONCLUSION: The hotel and the rooms are really very comfortably furnished, both are located in a clean condition, no ick factor and the 3 -star is thoroughly deserved. three stars in the breakfast room has ample Essplätze and even a bookshelf with copies in various languages. A breakfast buffet is served from 7 or 10 o'clock (that would be in a relaxing holiday with a city break is until 10 hours just ok, a half-hour more but well). Offer is rather manageable, so there are white bread, 2 different jams, cream cheese, a cheese and cold sausage, orange juice and black tea. However, some commendably eggs, cornflakes and even a cakes. Bottom line: The breakfast is definitely full, as it is enough available and the, what was offered and also tasted. three star Conclusion Overall: I definitely recommend this hotel, d. H. I would be happy to stay "again". Value for money is absolutely, you really couldn't complain about them. read more

For a city trip the hotel is ok. Breakfast simple but edible. Central location on the Omonia Square ( metro). Excellent transport links. You should really appeared in the hotel. The area to the tummeligen Straßentreffpunkt wakes up the evening social minorities Athens ( Turks, Albanians and watch Nigerians) the evil and speak a. They do a but nothing. The hotel is centrally located, just a few minutes walk from the metro station at Omonia away, in the heart of Athens. Shopping opportunities right nearby. The rooms are functional (with air conditioning) equipped. Whoever wanted importance on luxury and more time in the city than spent at the hotel, this is very well cared for. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! read more
