The center from york with its shops, pubs and sights is only a few minutes walk away. To the train station costs about 5 pound with the taxi. We were after manchester and took the train, journey time to york 2 hours. The airport leeds is closer, but less connections.
The hotel is ok, good standard for britain, for Hilton rather below average, rather small rooms, no lounge. read more

I recently with my girlfriend in Hilton York stayed overnight. As one of the Hilton hotels is used, was the value for money.
The room had the normal size of a city -hotels and was equipped with all the comforts. Iron, Ironing board etc. Included.
The breakfast the next morning was good, with several cold cuts Sorts a 'very good' from me. Apart from that the breakfast was but plentiful. Rolls, bread, Croissants, fruit, juices, yoghurt, Cornflakes etc. The staff were always friendly and accommodating.
The poorly-central Hilton at York you can wonderful this historical city and all its Sehenswürdigketen ... on foot explore. Lovely!
Solely the garage parking beats with 17 GBP/day book.
I can this hotel highly recommend and will be returning soon to arrive. read more

The friendliness the whole service team was again and again impressed.
Already in advance at a quiet room asked, which however was not possible. First a street under the window, to change of the room we had the whole night the noise of the ventilation.
The breakfast was bad, no fresh baked tomatoes, everything from cans.
The location of the hotel was for a city tour excellent. Directly from the breakfast room looked on the first sight, right around the corner was the next and just a few meters further one was already in a small shopping street. read more

The hotel is actually very appealing from the outside and the bar and restaurant area was absolutely all right. In the upper floors are however grauslig: the doors versch rammed, the hallways grimy, the rooms are so tight, that you can swing's hard. A sitting on the chair is next to the bed gezwängten practically. Also our room was clearly in need of renovation.
The breakfast was in order and the staff-with the exception of the overstrained effective reception-was very nice and helpful. Nevertheless, the price/performance ratio wasn't good at all. read more

The hotel made a very neat impression. Unfortunately, our room with a view of the unpleasant backyard of its neighbors and there could be increased by means of connecting to the next room. For the family is certainly a positive aspect, we liked it really made noise and commotion in the night, since the noises of the neighbor room were to be heard thus very clearly. The bathroom fan was very noisy and not manually adjustable, so this from about eight to ten in the morning o 'clock o' clock at night (with breaks per day) walking. Should not be ... ignored by the 15 pound per 24h, the seven days of stay well into the Forum. But the hotel underground garage with valet parking a cheap and safe alternative to public parking across the street.
So it is abundant with thoughtful neighbours, his sleeping hours of ventilation;-)and got a better window view, it is not in the room, the staff and the really varied breakfast (within 15 days of the best UK vacation in four unterschiedl. Hotels) something to complain about. read more
