A great family skiing holiday over Easter

Hotel Christiania provided an excellent 3 Star base for our skiing holiday in SAAS-FEE. Before setting off from the UK the hotel provided very helpful information on transport, and then picked us up exactly on time as the late-night bus came up from Visp. Throughout our whole holiday this family run hotel provided just what we wanted in this extremely pretty family orientated ski resort. The adjoining restaurant which I believe is run by the brother of the owner was extremely good with delicious steaks and varied menu, so we ended up eating there for 3 nights. The hotel is ... very conveniently located in the centre of the village with just a short walk to the nursery slopes and directly opposite the ski hire shop. Our family room had 2 large balconies and plenty of space, was very clean with comfortable beds. It was an unexpected bonus to have most of the UK TV channels available in good quality HD, and free Internet. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. read more

The hotel is centrally located, close to restaurants and bars and walking distance from the ski slopes. It is a nice hotel, run by a family. They offer a very good service. We did not try the restaurant, but breakfast was ok. If we go back to Saas Fee, we would book the same hotel again. read more

Great place to stay. Excellent friendly and personalised service - nothing too much for the lovely owners who go out of their way to provide you with a great experience. We really enjoyed the sauna/steam room/plunge pool facilities - they call them small on the advertising blurb and so we weren't expecting much - but they are plenty big enough for the number of people that were using them and a great plus at the end of a day's skiing. Cable TV in English meant that you could watch something in English if you felt like connecting with home. Most ... of the guests were Swiss which we liked as it felt like an authentic Swiss experience. We only ate in the hotel one evening but the food was very good and hotel were happy to give recommendations of good local places to eat. It's a 5-10 mins walk (when carrying skis) to the ski lifts and ski school meeting place - which makes it very convenient and much closer than a lot of the hotels. We enjoyed popping back to the hotel at lunchtime for a picnic on the sunny balcony and then back to the slopes in the afternoon. read more

The hotel is at great location, shops and ski lifts are easy to reach. Good designed room with comfy beds and a versatile breakfast buffet round good impression of the hotel from. Only the poor sound proof in the rooms not too considerate neighbors seemed disturbing. read more

Hotel Christiania made our trip to Saas Fee. The hotel was immaculately clean in terms of both our room and all communal areas. Service and helpfulness of the family was very impressive, especially given they had to speak to us in english as we dont speak swiss - german. We really dont think we could fault any part of our stay there and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! read more

My single room was very comfortable, it has a balcony to the sit outside and wonderful view up to the mountains: langfluh, plattjen cable cars,, felskinn. Also the restaurant is comfortable, the tables very nicely set up and getischt. The breakfast was varied provided and very good. Because advent and soon christmas is, mrs b. the restaurant, the hallways and stairs very nice with candles and other weihnachtssachen decorated. read more
