Good place to stay in downtown Banff

We stayed for one night in the middle of Banff, Banff National park, in front of the building. The price level is very high in Banff, but at this hotel, we were able to make a discount code thanks for a good price. The hotel from the outside makes a normal, quaint impression, the rooms were clean, if not a bit rustic style or outdated. 79er 80er style or not. We decided due to the good location for a room there, which we regret, however letztenlich have something, as you ten minutes East for half the car could stay overnight ... (which we also made the next day). Banff is already provincial, but it has a certain charm. Be that as it may, we would stay only in Canmore, since the hotel prices in ten minutes longer ride twice as low. read more

All in all, a nice, medium-sized hotel! We had a large room, with two king size beds and a balcony. Although the decor was not very up-to-date anymore, but everything was very neat, like the rest of the hotel. We had only booked with breakfast. What typical CANADIAN was: bagels, toast, cereal, fruit Loops etc. .. Relatively large selection and always available. There was even for the ski bus to-go-cups. read more

    Typically American: Lots of fast food and steakhouses. We were satisfied with tons of selection of reasonably priced dishes! Only on the slopes, we were a little shocked because it is "only" fast food is in the restaurants (burgers, hot dogs, pizza). But of course you may even what to bring and you get even water free everywhere.

    All in all is Canada to another world what service!!! The hotel staff is generally very friendly and helpful, but mostly only in English. Other highlights include the ski resorts! Forget Switzerland and Austria, that is Winter sports! You can sit in general in the ski bus, the boards and skiing are from the bus driver loaded. Having arrived in the ski area you will immediately greeted friendly, EVERYONE has a laid-back Liftmensch line to spare and loves apparently stayed his work ... From the snow I don't need much say: There is no salt nor ice cream! No matter at what temperature and snow it does say we often; )

    The hotel has a pool and 2 jacuzzi. However Both is chlorinated well ... But It seems to be the norm, since even the normal water coming from the tap chlorinated. Wireless internet is of course in Canada for free and not as advertised in Europe often and then it will ... We didn't use it often CT from the rest of the whole day anyway, as we were on the slopes. But they are very happy to help for example at Schlittenhundefahrten or every program.

    About a 5 min walk to the center of Banff and 5 minutes to the next supermarket. Shopping areas like Snowboardshops there were more than enough for German, with low prices. Own Quicksilver and billabong flagship store this small village! Ideal for friends this brands you here in comparison to Germany can save a lot ... The hotel has its own restaurant, but there are typical CANADIAN various boring sameness in the center or steakhouses, as well as bars where the action is weekend ...

Good hotel for skiing, no-frills. As we had booked only continental breakfast, and you will find the rating somewhat thin! Perfect location and very good rooms and furniture! Please do not book the suite, if not as a couple traveling! read more
