Good to very good reviews for this hotel i can only confirm. The hotel is located on a crag, around 40 to 50 meters on the right contemplative place. One must a lift, in order to to the hotel to get. Once there, you will right welcomed friendly and fast 'checked in'. The rooms are big enough and are equipped with a balcony with a magnificent view of the sea (we inhabited 307) about the cleaning of the room there was nothing to complain about. The average age of the guests was during our stay so for 50 years. There ... were almost only couples, no children or young people, which definitely not be negative must. The vacationers mainly came from the german-speaking area,there were but also british and french there. Russian was not spoken, which we personally didn't miss. read more

    The room was completely big enough, the balcony big and beautiful. Tv was available, german channels : RTL and ZDF. No mini bar, no coffee machine only a kettle, the but enough for us.

    We only booked with breakfast, what i also again and again would do, otherwise one comes in the evening not any more out, from the hotel. On the day of arrival evening we ate there and were not impressed. The prices are in comparison the quality of the offered meals were also a bit too high. This was the only visit the hotel restaurant. As mentioned, downstairs in the place, we have better dining... And cheaper. The breakfast buffet was very good and varied.

    The distance to the airport is approximately 50 kilometer. a beach in vain, but you knew that before. The place Ponta do Sol at night somewhat 'dead'. We had the impression, the not more lots of people live. Of our balcony from we had only in the dark houses. A small supermarket can be found in 6 minutes on foot ( at the gas station). Here you can get almost everything, which one on vacation need... At fair prices. There's a restaurant ( mare alta) below at the sea, where you can really good eat. Otherwise there was, i believe, no other possibilities (except for hotel) in town. We had a rental car, can therefore the public transport comment.

A fancy design hotel high on the rocks with a beautiful view of the village and the sea. Attainable over 2 elevators. Nice, atmospheric, old main building. The rooms are in new buildings accommodated. We had 1 room without sea view, so we had the north, that means it was not sunny, but cold in february. The breakfast was very rich, varied and tasty. For dinner the small selection of the dishes a little disturbed us. The pool is with a grandiose views over the atlantic ocean and is heated. We could in february swim in it. read more

    Circa 35 kilometer from the airport and 25 kilometer from Funchal, hiking in the hotel or with the hotel bus be attained. In Ponta do Sol small shopping possibilities otherwise in Funchal. Rental car is recommendable.

A very wonderful located, not to big hotel with much charm and enough space to withdraw and to relax. Only small shortcoming is the parking, unfortunately not adequate but even here park the staff the car fahrzeuggerecht or around. We would definitely again for this hotel decide! And, make sure to book a room with a sea view... Wonderful! read more

After the transfer of lisboa at 22 o'clock local time-careful: rucksacks shall be construed as' oversized luggage ', thus best directly not at all to the normal carousel. Shuttle to the hotel there was, whether the lateness of the hour, none, the was also in advance was clear. So in the first taxi to Ponta do Sol - 75 Euro - from Funchal from it could have been but the same cost, the airport bus to Funchal so you can be saved.     Like a stone sleeping yes what- 'to' a stone to sleep less... The hard mattresses are on a massive wood slab (not on a slatted frame) and some feathers are also for lightweights under 50 kilogram noticeable. The rooms are equipped with a safety deposit box for the main valuables, a small refrigerator (no drinks from the hotel available) and a large tv. Some furnishings may exchanged or cleaned carpet and curtains are clearly visible stains on. The bathroom is with sink, bathtub, toilet and bidet, and very clean. For 2 people enough. The absolute highlight is however with distance the south-facing-facing balcony, respectively the actually given 'sea-view', phenomenal! (504)

    The breakfast buffet is scope - but not very varied, there was in 10 days always the einfachse all eggs-scrambled eggs. More variation you pastries/cakes and fruit/chocalate. Recommendation : freshly squeezed orange juice and bread! (the state-sponsored nutrition probably in the basement, but mostly oven and really delicious, so it should be) During dinner (in advance at the front desk to reserve) is the quality of ingredients and food mostly alright (a small exception to the white bread for salmon tartare, this was dried out 'hard', it was not trying, this condition by toast to compensate). Unfortunately tried something 'design' in the dishes or the nature of this ok to do. A steak can also times after salad dressing tasted, if the salad already marinated on the piece of meat served (...) Have the table size quite a 2. plates allowed, even in more expensive ingredients such as prawns, salmon and beef is saved, and so from ' prawns' then also times shrimps. And for 90 Euro should be in a 4 star hotel napkins not only after the 3. ask come ☺ Novices should be the choice of the wine rather on the own gut feeling, than on the recommendation of the staff be heard. Can really absolutely recommend after possibility to eat out food to go. In the house there are two bars, a right behind the front desk the old quinta, with a beautiful terrace-which especially in the evening fantastic atmosphere, good music, excellent cocktails and a or other cigarillo really exciting is. The altersheimfaktor (probably by eingestaubte older british couples such as in Funchal) and shouting german stammtischkultur is quite successfully countered, the management tried maintained 'young' accents especially in the cultural area to sit, about live music on the terrace. The spectrum of travellers is quite german, mainly german and austrian guests (about 85%), a few swiss, british and portuguese (!) - most of them couples between 20 and 60, but also the a or other family. Felicitas, your logo management trainee from Leipzig - always friendly with good & valuable tips ready, a simple pleasant exception, i hope, remain you the hotel still for a long time received! We have a try, the levada 25 fontes: Only with 'picnic' package for definitely payable 8 Euro per person (sandwich, mango yogurt, cakes, orange, apple, 0.2 liter wasserfläschchen ). But ok, but return to the central highlands free. After four, five hours you can meet at the agreed point. Beautiful nature, many hochgebirgstouris, partly adventurous paths & map ☺ but don't worry, you can't get lost. People, please strandpatscherl or alpinistengear is really nothing for moderately sophisticated area. Reasonably stable footwear, long trews and/or raincoat should in any case rich ☺ you should there not be underestimated: it is in the highlands also times rain, i personally believe that since the back geschnallte babies on slippery (!) Natursteinpfaden already for something serious. And with screens through the undergrowth to scurry i now definitely not great. Whether the partly considerable elevation changes we had something repekt ourselves bicycles to borrow-unfounded as shortly before our departure to transpire: similar to the levada trips bikers and bikes on a hill and later a few hundred meters below collected again. Unfortunately too late for us: the cannondale bikes have good looked! Atlantic trips are not only in Funchal offered, but also from the hotel gives you.     ... From the rising sunshine, we could our eyes not trust: atlantic, as far as the eye can see-fantastic. So this is' sea-view ', really impressive-no noise, only birds and surf. High on a cliff top, also a fantastic view of the town or the valley-actually all around. The vacation could begin. The beautiful place is very small, due to the elevation changes on foot quite spacious-the bare essentials were in the immediate area (small shopping mall and BP-supermarket)-even our habanitos we have without any problems received. The only fault from Ponta do Sol is the lack of gastronomic infrastructure apart from pizza and snack bar, traditional restaurants in the valley unfortunately in vain. Tip: if you didn't have a car available the 5 kilometer away sensational small fish restaurant 'a poita' (s. below) in the neighboring madalena do mar can be easily reached on the best the at the beach from Ponta do Sol nearby ' mare alta ' a visit to. From 18 to 22 o'clock has there the kitchen open, fish and beef perfect quality and above all top prepared at fair prices. With bread & wine classic top. The hotel is in a nice location. By the small number of rooms, very well arranged. The staff were always friendly. With English one comes through very well. Everywhere there was clean. The furnishing was clear and without frills, which we like. The guest nationality was German and English, which for us however no role. A rental car is advantageous, as the town itself did not offer much offers. Madeira is way too beautiful just in the hotel to stay. From the hotel are excursions offered, this we didn't use. The often described parking issue was not for us so ... auspepägt, but during full allocation safe problematic. There is pay parking spaces (8 until o'clock, per hour 0.80). The weather was warm, but very humid. I don't know, whether at the time of the year. We were satisfied all around and have were refreshed. There is free wi-fi also in the room works. We had slippers, bathrobe and pool towels. read more

    The room was big enough. The mattress was too hard. It was definitely because of, that in these countries probably usual, only a board including was. We had view of the sea, the was gigantic. Who however light sleepers has, must be based on sound control. Prior to we had mailkontakt, as we recommendation my sister, a bistimmtes room wanted. This has wonderful folded.

    The pool is beautiful, you would think in the sky to swim. Loungers there was at least until 11 hours, afterwards it was difficult. But we did not want pool have a vacation. Against evening there again loungers. In the room were pool towels with the whole couch again. There is a few sports equipment, the in good condition were. The massages have we enjoyed.

    The place is not much. There was a small shopping center with bank, pharmacy, café, pizzeria and a few small shops. At the beach gdibt it still a small bar. The guidebooks with views described restaurant is closed. In ribeira brava there are a few bars. Us it had the borda d'agua pleased. It lies directly at the beach and the staff was polite. From Ponta do Sol it was easy on the highway. We found it is a great starting point.

We have a wonderful week in Ponta do Sol spent. We had more excursions planned, but due to the great hotel two times all day there, to the beautiful hotel with the spectacular views. The staff were in any case helpful, especially with the tight parking. Key at the front desk and the car has expert at the steep rock slope turned off. The room was brilliant location (no 507), and we had the view almost the feeling on a ship to be. Cleanliness and size absolutely okay. The breakfast buffet was just great and diverse. The hotel is located regarding the location unbeatable cheap on a rock about 150 on of the city. In all direction there are views, the view from the window is spectacular. Also the pool is clean and very nice (infinity pool). The furnishing is hotel nice, but no more the newest. Scratches and then furniture and stains on the carpet, cracked tiles require the activity of the management. The restaurant is also very clean located, quality of the dishes. For those seeking tranquillity guests the estalagem ponto do Sol, which far from the hustle and bustle of Funchal lies very suitable. The pool is clean, well maintained and offers a fantastic view of the Atlantic ocean. Really great is the location the entire complex on the cliffs. There has been an architect/Bauplaner a great achievement! A rental car for the duration of stay is however highly recommendable and can easily at the front desk be booked. read more

Nice hotel with terrific location on a rock above the town Playa Bavaro on the south coast Madeira. Without rental car one is on the entire island lost, so he is definitely recommendable. The breakfast buffet ( included) was plentiful and good, the dinner ( À la carte) very good! Price according to the hotel category, rather cheap. The staff are extremely friendly, good informed and spoke excellent English. Right below the cliff is the pretty, a bit sleepy Ponta do Sol. The hotel offers a free shuttle busThe service in the capital Funchal absolutely recommendable( definitely Cable car and at least one of the botanical garden visit!), as well ... as to the original source of many levada/ hikes with different degrees of difficulty. Furthermore will (pay, but reasonably priced) trip packages across the whole island organized. Also in terms of price performance ratio a absolute recommendation - we are definitely coming again! read more
