The 'boomerang village' is a small, quiet bungalow complex and is situated on half height of the hill, the Kata/towers karon area.
The complex is under European de facto Italian line and various Thai employees busy as cooks, gardener, waiters, cleaning staff. All the staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming, and the typical 'Thai hospitality' and lovingly pampered from the moment we arrived.
The slightly remote Hill-location of the 'boomerang village' guests, your holidays completely on the beach and take in the evening due to the large number of loud bars and pubs of Kata, not ideal-therefor the paths ... are just a little too far.
Who however peace, the personal service and friendly atmosphere of this small hotel facility to relax and enjoy, by the pool or in the WHO beautiful tropical gardens, you will find here the perfect relaxation oasis. Here, over the roofs of Kata, surrounded by nature, you can make yourself a lovely-to relax, feel at home, relax and: good food!
The 'boomerang village' has an on-site restaurant, the 'cafe del Sol'. It is served daily from 8 to 13 o'clock (a bit monotonous) an acceptable breakfast buffet (at least with Italian coffee specialties such as cappuccino and latte macchiato!).
But only in the evening is the 'cafe del Sol' really big form-up by candlelight to sit with a glass of wine, a romantic atmosphere and enjoy the views, the! Opened by the architecture of the restaurants, the silent jazz or chill-out music and the decoration creates a pleasant lounge atmosphere. Here you can spend nice evenings, Italian wine or drink a cocktail and, of course, also very good food. Next to Thai food and fresh seafood in a good quality (chicken Cashewnut, pad Thai prawns, spaghetti with Crabs) offered also classic Italian cuisine, in his deepest-Italian! -Heart of the hotel manager Paolo convinced, that it is a balanced diet without pizza, pasta, mozzarella and Bruschetta actually cannot exist. And so applies the 'cafe del Sol' as a highly recommended Italian-American restaurant in Kata and is visited every evening. Hotel guests receive a discount of ten percent on food and drinks.
Conclusion: jazz and soul food-highly recommendable!
Despite the quiet, somewhat Secluded location at the top of the hill, you feel like you are in the '' not 'cast boomerang village-' -trips to Kata beach is a hotel's own free shuttle service, there are also plenty of taxis in Kata and Tuk tuks available, the flap with their small Nähmaschinenmotörchen up the mountain, if you like to walk around and want to avoid the climb. Basically, the way could also walk, but the heat and humidity the extreme slope on the last meters the climb to the hotel up to the challenge. After we went to the räudigen, dirty, smelly touristic fairground Kata had, we were more than satisfied with the relative seclusion of our little oasis on top of the hill.
We used the 'boomerang' for all of our needs: we ate every lunch and every evening at the hotel's own restaurant, the mini-bar emptied, the massage and used the laundry service, as well as the pick-up from the airport and the movement to the next vacation-location. (You can see: there isn't much reason, this place you can definitely go to leaving.) for all the we paid at the end of our stay about 7 thousand Baht. Very reasonably priced! You can also rent mopeds and as well as all the usual trips available to book in the hotel (KOH Phi Phi, similan Islands, etc.), but unfortunately the rocky and changeable weather was beginning November for any kind of trips to. By the pool you can enjoy a massage (Thai massage, oil massage and neck massage shoulder)-1 hour for about 400 Baht. Especially good we liked, but also that this massage in the privacy of the individual bungalows use could be taken.
The 'boomerang village' consists of a dozen or so bungalows in three different categories (superior, deluxe and suites). We inhabited for an initial period of three days the superior bungalow number 113. Here, we felt really very comfortable-large enough for two people and very comfortable equipped with state-of-the-art air conditioning and additional fan, tv and safe, moreover, well-stocked mini-bar and coffee/tea making facilities. Large, comfortable four-poster beds, very modern bathroom with rain shower. The front desk we found the whole bungalow with fragrant blooms decorated before-What a sight! From the outside our bungalow was nice ingrowing in the tropical vegetation, shaded by huge palm trees and hibiscus trees-almost hidden from view: quite a lot of peace and quiet and privacy. Brilliant! Short distances: three steps to front desk, five steps to the pool, ten steps to the restaurant. In the evenings, the area of the 'boomerang village' with torches and oil lamps lit-that ensures a nice, romantic flair! At the complex offers something for the eye: in the garden by the pool small and Buddha-statues and other sculptures, partly so hidden behind lush, tropical plants splendor, that you at the second look-everywhere scented with it after hibiscus and other tropical plants, you are surrounded by colorful birds and butterflies. We also liked the everywhere to listening chillout and beach lounge music: silent always, very discreet, unobtrusive and absolutely not annoying-on the contrary, it added a lot to our relaxation in this beautiful atmosphere. Also a big compliment therefor!
So far so good-but after three days we were then (as planned) 'upgraded' for those last day in one of the deluxe bungalows-thirty steps away at the top of the hill. Well, it was rather a 'downgrade', since this Deluxe bungalow (section 109) was only insignificantly larger, but clearly older therefor, shabby and smelled despite plentiful fragrance oil used always easy musty. The bathroom was also far less comfortable and in worse condition than at the superior bungalow. Only the large, unobstructed view from the terrace was able to cheer her up a bit. And so we did-go back-the experience, that the lower room category is often better served.
A big plus was the free Wi-Fi in the entire hotel area, so every evening we send us an e-mail or Skype for free home. Furthermore, the 'boomerang' a small Internet corner with free PCs and printer.
Due to the small number of bungalows is the number of guests well arranged and there's no 'typical anonymous Hotel atmosphere'. It is always the same people, the majority of Europeans (many German and Dutch).
Conclusion: The 'boomerang village' scores due to its comfortable atmosphere, great service, good restaurant with Italo-twist, free Wi-Fi in the entire hotel area. Last but not least: a really good price/performance ratio!
Top recommended for guests, the tourist hustle and no can feel comfortable in a small, simple bungalow area, without wishing to comfort.
Tip: when booking ask for the bungalow 113!
