Filitheyo is a quiet, palm-covered island, which has a fischreiches reef has, so that snorkelers and divers your pleasure. The paths and places in front of the bungalows are with fine sand and are kept very clean. The beach and many parts of the lagoon but with large quantities of hotel covered, so that bathing shoes are required.
The accommodation is quite different. The water villa were already a bit dated and you can just very stony water descend. Cheaper the bungalows at the southern beach, also the bungalows on the north-western beach are acceptable (here is the nearby riff ... particularly close), the bungalows on the eastern beach but bad (no direct access to the sea possible, because rocky shore).
The gastronomy on the island is excellent. There is always a very rich buffet with tasty food-both for breakfast, as well as for dinner. The drinks are quite expensive though. But altogether it is a very reasonable value for money.

In larger familienrunde we are this time arrived, some already the 3. time, some for the first time. Unfortunately we have to say, that disappointment was was available and the resort to their own requirements or the quite high expectations of all travel express taker has failed. The reason is the partly chaotic service and the disorganized management of the resorts. So we had long before the prior related bungalows requested, but we were first of all across the island distributed. At a generous invitation from the front office manager as compensation for the small trouble you could the next ... day 't remember. For repeater usual beach dinner invitation has been quite upset, could one nevertheless no longer apply, if the reuseteilnehmern previously there was and who does not. Accordingly had to 'negotiate' will, who claim beach dinner had. In short, the already to start a negative Touch on the vacation thrown. We were especially for diving in Filitheyo.
We stayed in a water bungalow and that was really a dream! Because of the constant, slight breeze we had almost no mosquitoes in the room and the direct access to the lagoon from the terrace from made a sandfreies bathing and living possible. And the space in the bungalow is really nothing to be desired.
The hotel staff was very friendly, however it was very clear, that friendliness and willingness to help first of all on a tip '. The not, left both fast and one was rather ignored. However, we were ... not disturbed, since we the staff was initially too pushy and we would have liked more peace had.
The buffet for breakfast, as well as for dinner was diverse, very good and very tasty. As a vegetarian i was not disappointed. Of course the selection was then somewhat limited, but it was always something delicious. And the dessert buffet is really legendary! We booked half board and drawback there is only, that the dinner only around 19:30 begins and 12 hours after the breakfast. As for diving always were early, we always just around 7:30 breakfast and then it was long until the evening. Sad also, that half board does not include drinks. At least bottled water could be expected. But Filitheyo there is a facility for processing for drinking water and thus were the prices still bearable (500 milliliter = 1.75 $, 1 liter = 3, $50 without vat. And service tax).
The diving basis is absolutely professional and was a lot of fun with the team to dive. We had 6 days non-limit diving (reef & boat) on orca travel booked. Unfortunately we were per bottle still 0.5 $per bootstauchgang still 12 $will be charged. Book in advance a package, it would be nice and secure, if really everything including would be. But that was probably rather with the tour operator as with the base on the ground to do. Our own diving equipment was in the base in very good hands and dried until the next day really wonderful. There were lists with the dives where you can record and all the dive sites were in folders in various languages described. The tauchdhonis are big and spacious and after the dive, there is on board towels, hot tea and fresh coconut.
Tips for all, the Filitheyo want to visit:
- the seaplane are only 20 kilogram normal-and 5 kilogram-hand baggage allowed, each kilogram more costs around 4 $for return, the worst is however, mostly the luggage separately meets, you first a day without a suitcase do must, therefore, so sunscreen and trunk/suit in the hand baggage
- cookies etc. Carry forward, to with the half-board the time between breakfast and dinner cheap to
- before the visit of the restaurant (no matter wether morning or evening), there was enough with insect repellent spray yourself thoroughly (is in the room available, but it is also detrimental not, private with you)

- internet costs 5 $per hour and is crazy slow, thus better prepared for, that without must

Only for people who tranquility!
We were 3/13 there, actually the best month every year around the mantas to see. No rain and only very few mosquitoes. The diving is 64 American Dollar per dive very expensive, but you can also which to see.

Contrary to the many received positive reviews we can only say, that the very old-fashioned hotel and the 4 stars are not more deserved. We lived, as preferred on the Maldives in a water bungalow. At the spaciousness the room and of the terrace one cannot criticize anything. However the bungalows are much needed renovation. The wooden beams were partly already very rotten, so that they are afraid, that one with the soil in the lagoon land. In one of the two bars the water not from the tap, but from the wall. Since a 2. sink was available and ... there is a not insignificant structural expenditure would have meant, beließen we only the information on the waiters. Most baffled us however the fact that this bungalow 1,5 hours after our departure already again occupied. So was not repaired. read more

The organization from check-in and check out was a perfect experience. Superior bungalows have already gotten a bit old and this see one unfortunately also often to the blue plan, the over the rooftops curious are still the complex their special charm! All seating/tables- at the beach and at the pool- are from hardwood and not cheap living plastic! Each bungalow has 2 wooden deck chairs with cushions, you to the gorgeous beach can.
The room boys cleaned unfortunately often only superficially, especially in the bathing area, i would have gladly cleaner had. The staff was always very friendly, was ... immediately the roomnumber noticed, with orders for beverages otherwise specify and on the habits (favourites ) of the guests set.
The island is quite large. Who alone travels, must, after the dinner the long way in the dark only. The can be quite creepy are!
But there are always german speaking (and nice!) Tourists, with which you get to talk to can, so that you don't alone must feel.
All-inclusive: unfortunately, no bottles with water inclusive! The island is too large, about evenly times for a glass of water at the bar / the restaurant to go, so buy forced water bottles and not. Otherwise is the selection of drinks, the inclusive, adequate. The additional costs are general quite high, Caipirinha over 13,- Dollar, a bottle of beer 6,- Dollar, the bottle of water costs almost 3,- Dollar, excursions, such as island hopping or night fishing ever 35,- Dollar, massages in the spa from 50,- Dollar (for example 105,- Dollar for a 90 minutes balinese massage)
Island hopping trip: it was only an island with the dhoni visited, the name 'island-hopping' is misleading! Swimming or snorkelling should we in the open sea, next to the boat. For swimmers was the current dangerous strong!
It was my first holiday on a Maldives-island and in spite of the evenly described small faults a wonderful vacation! read more

The hotel is located in the fafuu atoll about 30 minutes with water plane of malé away. The shuttle worked well. Connecting flight was around 30 minutes after arrival at the terminal. The island is rather large for the Maldives. The beach bungalows were on the west and north side the island distributed, the getting quite old are. Cleanliness the room is always okay. The guests %blank% especially from Germany, France, the Switzerland and England. At the beginning we had the bungalow number 121, on the north side the island is. Beautiful island, which was very neat.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The bungalows and the furniture therein are partially right ageing.
Beautiful reef, we have regularly schwarzspitz and weissspitzriffhaie and turtles, as well as numerous anämonenfische and moray eels. The outer reef is for beginners very suitable.
The island is very sturdy, that means of nature is also on the island enough space left and one sees many hermit crabs.
The food is very diverse and very tasty. We were for christmas/ new year and the buffet was the pure eyes-and a culinary highlight. Very lovingly decorated at christmas.
The ... staff is always very helpful, the room boy gave us a special anti-mosquitoes spraye vorbeigebracht since we didn't use.
The diligent gardeners are to mention, they have every day the paths and the beach section carefully swept and were very set up.
We would definitely recommend this island happy to recommend! read more

Filitheyo is still a typical Maldives-islands without too much frills. Ideal for divers, snorkelers and abschalter.
Everything seemed neat, but not as smooth as it ought to be, appropriate and adequate. Great is the diving station.
Unfortunately not all paths perfect with sand laid out, so beach shoes recommended. read more

The island is nature but very well maintained. It is daily cleaned. The paths were at the end of december again with sand. You can walk barefoot on the go. Very many palms.
The island is for snorkelling wonderful. We booked directly on the hotel reef sharks, turtles, moray eels, eagle rays, triggerfish, lionfish and many more seen.
The coral reefs are quite nice.
The snorkel excursions one sees however still much nicer corals and sometimes still more fish.
The center of the island is rather wild overgrown. A page the island is nothing special nice, because there is no ... sandy beach more is available (washed away). This hotel is located in the area of bungalows 126-144 which however from the staff inhabited.
The bungalows number 100-125 (circa) are recommended only with restrictions, because here the usable beach section not directly in front of d. villa is, but from bungalow 105 this is d. entrance into the water very rocky (see my photos with the comment).
The snorkeling is in this area forbidden-very windy and strong waves and current.
From 95 down are all villas great. The bungalows 39-125 are bungalows and according to the other tourists were rather noisy.
The deluxe villa (we also had a) have a great location with a great beach. One sees by palm trees etc. To the beach and from the beach you can see to the water villas.
The water villas we visited. They are almost the same as the deluxe bungalows, but on stilts and with direct access into the water - it is the terrace always in the sun. Whoever prefers it shady should be the deluxe (single) or superior (double) bungalows take.
Some bungalows have connecting doors-so for families optimally suitably.
Almost the entire island there is wlan reception. One hour cost 5 $. Noisy reception but the rate at once be consumed.
The food:
For breakfast there was always the same, was but okay.
During dinner we had relatively a lot of variation but many curryspeisen, which for Maldives typical are.
All-inclusive with 75 $surcharge could for us not paid.

Filitheyo is a relatively large island with comparatively little bungalows. Deluxe bungalows (single) 23 piece, superior bungalows (double) circa 85 piece and water bungalows 16 piece. On the west side are also bungalows, the but not to tourist forgive ( location is not so great, there because of the current swimming was not possible). For us it was a outstandingly beautiful, relaxing vacation. We really enjoyed the stay and felt good. The gegenmeinungen that the beach not completely to orbit or other comments we can unfortunately not understand, since the island simply natural is. If of course the whole palm trees on the immediate waterfront's and somehow the nature can convince no loose limbs to the beach washing, looks it like a sculptured photo from, but we did not. We thought it was rather nice, that you at the beach many shells and many cancers seen. Belonged nevertheless to it. On the subject of ... 'barefoot island' concerns, i can only say, that the whole 2 weeks never shoes at had, no matter wether with the food, at the bar, the divecenter or otherwise where. The toilets were always clean, the staff without exception very friendly. 'as one into the forest in-calls.' The dive station from Werner Lau is also very recommendable. In September 2012 we were in Filitheyo.
Filitheyo is a Maldives-Island (barefoot -luxury Resort) and offers complete Maledivenflair. The bungalows with the half open bathroom, which was almost as large as the bedroom are super nice furnished and very clean and tidy.
The island is on the whole very clean and tidy. She offers on the North -, as well as on the south side Maldives-dream beaches.
The food is very diverse and the cuisine is exquisite. Everyone could find something here for his taste. It couldn't be better! Also all of the staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating! ...
You could use the possibility, it is one of the picturesque beach a more-course -menu and in the romance of the Maldives enjoy!
The nearby riff with 8 Einstiegspunkten very nearby convenient and one it could be described as spectacular. It offers on the north side in the immediate area 2 wrecks, which dived
The diving school from Werner Liter is perfectly organized and the diving instructors are technically very competent. The base will be perfect and is therefore for us really recommendable! The training in the courses with the greatest care made. Here, the diving fun! We have rarely seen such a service found!
The dive sites include for every diver, wether beginner or professional, best conditions! Since Filitheyo at the canal is (in the east of the atolls) you have often on Großfisch! A further advantage is, that all dive sites exclusively by Filitheyo-divers be visited and that's why not 'submerged' are!
All together we can only say, we will Filitheyo next year visit again, because it around is true!
