Hotel very clean and tidy. Staff all spoke good English and were very friendly and helpfull with a good local knowledge. Lots of places to see and do in the area with excellent transport links - frequent and timely train & cable car sevice. I would highly recommend the Bernese Oberland, Wengen, and the Hotel Belvedere. read more

We are returning guests and love this hotel. It was built 100 years ago has been maintained and updated but hasn't been needlessly refurbished so the original Art Nouveau furniture and fittings sit alongside soft furnishings from several eras and smart modern bathrooms. It's like visiting the comfortable home of a favourite grandmother. Everything is spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and efficient and never look harassed, and service is very personal. Internet access is available but expensive ... but who wants the internet when you're in Wengen? read more

    Nice big old-fashioned rooms with modern en-suite bathrooms with PROPER BATHS. Towels and linen changed on request. Hairdryer, writing paper, power points, plenty of storage space.

    Pleasant restaurant. The food at the Belvedere is ideal for those who, like us, prefer uncomplicated food cooked and presented well and need to eat a lot to fuel long days out hiking and biking. Breakfasts are buffet-style with cereals, Birchermuesli, lots of good bread, cheese and cold meats and jam, and some hot choices. Dinners are also buffet-style with a salad bar, soup, three different main courses and usually two puddings and a varied cheese platter. The vegetarian options did tend to be a little cheesy and greasy, whereas the meat and fish were cooked to perfection. It would be difficult to eat adequately as a vegan but relatively easy to maintain a gluten-free diet.

    If you need a gym and a swimming pool and someone to look after your children for you, choose another hotel. We were more than happy not to have those facilities on site, and we were delighted to be allowed to store our bikes in the ski-room.

    Quiet spot just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Wengen. Car-free village with everything a holidaymaker in the Alps needs. Huge potential for excursions by train, cable-car, or on foot. We were mountain-biking and accepted that we had to choose between ascending to Kleine Scheidegg or descending to Lauterbrunnen every day.

After our arrival at the train station we were immediately picked up and to the hotel brought. There we were met by a very friendly Receptionist. The room was brilliant with direct view of the Jungfrau. The food in buffet form food and beverage tasted very good. Very good we found, that one every day a lunch box to order. Summarized the hotel is definitely recommendable. Very beautiful room, good food, friendly staff and good location. We will come again. read more

I don't usually reveiw hotels but I though I would for this one. This hotel is situated on the side of a mountain in a small community called Wengen. The veiws are amazing. The staff that worked in this hotel we excellent and very polite. We were traveling with a young daughter and they made her feel right at home. The rooms were small but coozy. The only gripe that I had was there there were no extra pillows in the room which is very minor. The meals were very good and the staff was very professional. I would reccomend ... this hotel to anyone. read more

This was our first visit to switzerland and we chose wengen due to it's location. From the moment we were picked up by the hotel buggy to our departure, we found the staff at the hotel couldn't do enough for us. Everyone was polite and courteous and the hotel manager made a point of speaking personally to her guests every day to check everything was to their satisfaction. We would definitley come back to the belvedere! read more

Great hotel with friendly staff in a beautifull region. Public transport is great and after a days hiking Hotel Belvedere is a great place to get back to. Nice rooms and very nice food. Diner is buffet of high quality. It was my second visit to the Jungfrauregion and the next time I will choose Hotel Belvedere again! read more

We really enjoyed staying at the Belvedere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We greeted at our table by a waiter/waitress at every meal. Special needs were catered for ie soya milk. The food was good and varied with fish, meat, vegetarian dishes and salads. The bar and lounge were delightful rooms to take a drink/coffee after dinner. Our bedroom was spacious with an area for sitting whilst looking out to the mountains. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and adequate. We intend to stay at the Belvedere next year. read more

We were pleasantlt surprised with this 2 star rated hotel. All staff were very friendly & helpful. Although meals were buffet style the quality was good and food was not sitting around for a long time as the servery was topped up frquently and efficiently. Our room was well furnished, it could have been a little bigger, but was perfectly adequate. A great view from the terrace from which to enjoy the late afternoon sun and a beer! Overall very good value for money and a very enjoyable stay, we would go back. read more

    The south facing rooms (which have a balcony) are relatively small but the bathroom was a very good size (good sized bath with shower; 2 basins plus large surrounding area; toilet). Furniture in the bedroom was really nice (in character with the traditional style of the hotel). Room was kept very clean and the sheets and towels were changed whenever requested. We didn't hear a single sound from the hall or any other room.

    We stayed on half board basis and the breakfast and dinners served were excellent. The meals were taken from a buffet and a number of options were available. The restaurant is large and perhaps lacks character (compared to rest of hotel) but the quality of food and the service provided by the staff more than compensated for this. The bar and sitting area (with log fire) were both full of character.

As a couple who have at least 14 holiday stays at hotels in any one year we found that the Hotel Belvedere was the best overall hotel we have ever stayed in! The food was excellent, the staff friendly and efficient, the manager was the best hotel manager we have ever met and the whole hotel ran like a well oiled Swiss watch. Everywhere was clean, smart, warm and welcoming and our room was comfortable and felt just as if we were still home with the added bonus of not having to do any cleaning or work. In short we ... would go back to the Hotel Belvedere without a moments hesitation and would recomend it to all our friends. read more

This was a very good choice for us as a family of four (children 4 years old and 20 month old) for a weeks skiing. We were also with friends with young children. Made to feel very welcome. We were able to get a room with internal adjoining doors with friends to enable us to babysit. In addition a very good family room was made available to friends with bunk beds. We would probably opt for a family room without bunks however as they are not suitable for really young children. A separate room for the kids would be ideal ... as this time around we were all in the same room. We will be returning! The buffet food was ideal as it allowed us to pick and choose for our children. The only thing that we would prefer was a slightly earlier time to eat with our children. read more

It was wonderful. Wengen in winter dreamlike and the hotel Belvedere romantic. view wonderful. all the 3 stars are appropriate. with the children fun. Back soon! the room was great and spacious, we were with two small children in a double room and everything was fine. read more

We were delighted with this warm and friendly hotel with good food. The staff were all very pleasant, helpful and efficient. A good location in a quiet and attractive village with excellent rail and gondola lifts for accessing the mountain walks. read more

We really liked our stay at Hotel Belvedere. The Dutch-speaking host and her dog made us feel at home rightaway. Nice hotel with nice employees. When we return to Wengen, we will make sure we stay at the Belvedere again. read more
