The Knockranny pants hotel was the 2. 'castle' our DERTOUR-castle tour 'Majestic North'. Introdution: it is no castle, although it from the outside prettily is. As far as we first noticed, the prices, the earned it, very stressed, for our taste too much. Because they don't care what they promised.
Clear, because of the Roundtrips spent we only had one night here, but are we so worse guests? Here it came us like that before. The room was big, but only quickly made (no cushions, no foot cover -as would have been somebody in the bed slept. Bed sheets but ... fresh/ carpet poor vacuumed). Equipment of the room apart from that good ( the beds very comfortable, tv, hair dryer, tea coffee, Ironing board, safe), but carelessly and without flair. Bathroom was large, but somewhat impractical.
Breakfast in a refined, pretty room with great view. Breakfast: cold things of the buffet ( sausage/ cheese was missing-, although on the menu) and warm meals à-la-carte.
There is a pool and a spa. What nice appeared, but we couldn't use, since the zwembadgedeelte already around half seven closed. A shame.
Since we didn't want, the expensive hotel restaurant to use, we are to Westport for delicious on the pier in ' the Asgard tavern' eaten. There were some restaurants and pubs. read more

The hotel has several awards, the generous angepreist be. However is this just the' new' rooms rated, the most modern and well-equipped to be. We have in our 'old' room unfortunately not much received. Because the room was old, little lovingly arranged, holes in the floor, dirty window. The bathroom was little luxurious and while showering was the water again at any time suddenly hot and cold. The value for money is below average. This hotel was during our round trip by far the most expensive and at the same time worst hotel, some B&B asked a bigger and more ... luxurious standard. When we on the final day over the room complained, we were told, we have cheapest category (158 Euro per night!) booked, since one could not expect more. read more

We arrived as a family and the children (11,12,13) looked forward to going to the nice pool area. We shared with that kids under 18 (! ) Access to the swimming pool. Down in the village would be a hotel, in which the kids swim. We went so go, we learned that the children first bathing caps, which you only one side of the pools at your disposal beaches, because on the other seniors swam laps. Our boys simply declined. The rooms were ok, we particularly liked the real topped blankets. The evening meal was disappointing, they promised ... us much since the restaurant on the same year. The waiter was not much effort to help us with the opaque menu. Breakfast the following morning was except the grilled Kippers nothing to write home about. Conclusion: The hotel lacks it in my opinion atmosphere. Many seniors stayed here. The pool area looked very nice, unfortunately for children prohibited by law. The food does not what it says on the tin. read more
