We were on the 4. time in Kreta and the second time dreamlike South coast in Agia galini in the Hotel Astoria when Martin.
As already in 2008 is Martin always competent advice available. If the renting of vehicles, tips for walks or sönstge sights acts play no role. read more

You can a lot complain, for us was the Astoria absolutely the right choice.
The shower was very cramped, the rooms a bit noisy, if the neighbor showered, and he unfortunately in the morning at 7:00 o'clock, then roared the water so loud, that you woke up. Tv and fridge against extra charge, the sea view however available, however only meagerly on another hotel past.
In the small hotel, 25 rooms, are good reason many 'repeat offender. The Soul of the hotel ensures that variety and entertainment for breakfast and great tips for excursions and around the hour to ... Verrfügung. Agia galini is a wonderful resort, the not so crowded. The staff is very helpful and very competent contact for excursions and to rent a rental cars. The room was always super tidy and clean. Balcony was good, but with limited view. read more

The hotel is very clean and makes a friendly impression. Our room was big enough and fulfilled for two weeks wholeheartedly its purpose. It was very well-kept, a small fridge stood available, also the air conditioning. The breakfast was okay and enough for us. We had no large hunger, as it in the morning already very warm.
Half board we could unfortunately not recommend, is also not necessary, as it is very many other and really good taverns in the town. But as long as the tavern extremely impressive included is, you should not even bother, unless you want only ... from the card special for the hotel guests choose. Of other as the sunday-special, lamb, is absolutely not advised! The guests were different ages, of around 20 to 60. German, austrians and English.
Sometimes smelled of ammonia in the entrance area, we noticed the especially on the day of arrival immediately (also somewhat negatively, as disgusting odor) on. read more

The hotel is a good base for close to everything within easy reach. The beach is about ten minutes walk down the hill to reach. Shopping opportunities and taverns are nearby. We can recommend the taverns and bars on the beach. The room was cleaned daily and the towels/bed linen were changed very often. Martin, the soul of the hotel, was always a good partner and an excellent source of information. He gave us a lot of tips for excursions. If you're looking for peace and relaxation in a friendly atmosphere, is the right place here. We would love to ... stay here again. PS: Martin WINS happy to playing cards ☺ read more

Small, nice and very clean hotel with 25 rooms. The Managing Director Martin cared about each guest personally and is happy to give tips for the individual recreational activities. The breakfast is rich and the coffee was great. This was our second stay at the Astoria and it was again a very pleasant holiday, unfortunately too quickly passed. We will definitely be back! read more

Good hotel, the perfect starting point for day trips with a rental car can be used. As the "top" seaside resort I would the small town in which the hotel isn't describe it. There are certainly nicer and larger beaches in Crete. But if you're not 'the' hardcore bathing is, will appreciate the charm of this place certainly worth it. Many small taverns, nice people and small bars. read more

Can only recommend this hotel and resort, the hotel was clean and in good condition, it is not far from the beach, there are plenty of bars and taverns in the immediate vicinity, most of them were really good with a variety of dishes. Martin, the geschafftsführer is a very nice person and a very good advice on what to do the he speaks German is, of course, a great help. As I said hotel can be recommended but I was with the breakfast and the diversity not so pleased Otherwise I would for the whole holiday sammt hotel 5 ... of 6 suns territorial about them. read more

The hotel offers a good 3 star quality. No large luxury, but the rooms are a decent size with good storage space, on cleanliness in the whole hotel was important and breakfast is good and varied. All rooms are located at 1 Or two. Floor and are mostly with a small balcony. Some rooms have a large shared deck. The air conditioning works well. The hotel is located on the upper part of the small town, right on the road. That doesn't bother but not because hardly any and at night there is no traffic. The beach is in about ... seven and the center of town in about five minutes walking, displaying short but very steep pathways were coming back up to overcome. Martin, a German from Dortmund, runs the hotel. Always friendly to arrange any issues. At the village and the beach there are plenty of good tavernas, so I wouldn't book half-board. The hotel Astoria We will also book on our next stay in Galini. read more

This was our third times in Agia Ghalini. The place has been said, what we say enough good things here only would repeat. The same applies to the Astoria, for the second time. Also this time, we felt very comfortable, which ended the hotelier ( or the soul of the hotel) Martin because, as always caring with body and soul with help and advice care about the guests. The breakfast is really good for Greek standards. Even fresh fruits, tomatoes and cucumber is served, sometimes also Greek Süßspezialitäten. The hotels typical ready for southern-orange juice is bad as always. Overall ..., it was a very good value for money. We look forward to the next time. read more

Robert and Daniela We were in June for 2 time in Agia Galini and this time at the Astoria at Martin. A quiet and clean hotel. The deal on the breakfast buffet was not good. There wasnt much variety. Room service took place every day. The distance to the beach was about 300 meters. The port of Agia Galini is a variety of good eating places. I especially want to make the restaurant "ONAR" directly in front of the harbor with a very good choice of fish dishes and good prices. Also the "stuffed grape leaves" are highly recommended. read more

Also during our 4. Stay at the Astoria there was nothing to complain about! Martin, the German manager, is someone with kecker fed and their hearts in the right place. His suggestions for places to visit and drives always right. The rooms are very nicely designed, big enough and very well maintained and clean. The breakfast buffet includes not only the as described in the catalog "continental breakfast", I think only from nightcap, bread, butter and jam/honey and may be an egg. Also, there is also sausage, cheese, Nutella, cereal, yogurt, fruit ( not only canned ones, but often also ... fresh! ) and/or tomatoes. The bread fresh every day. Complaints that they always only the one type of sausage and cheese, are really inappropriate. Recommendation for a trip toward Rethimnon: in the village Axos ( circa 45 km east of Rethimnon) there is a "Museum of Wooden sculptures", the well worth a visit. The artist led us through his exhibition, the very impressive! Some of its figures are about three meters high (for example the presentation of its parents). read more

The hotel was in a very good condition and cleaned thoroughly every day cleaned in- and outdoors. The room and balcony was large enough, furnishing and storage possibilties highly. Breakfast very satisfying (continental) with daily soft egg… All the paths to shopping, restaurants and shopping can be reached in a matter of minutes. The manager comes from Germany and knowledge of the island better exactly as the travel agent. His advice and giving us directions for excursions with the car was superb. Unfortunately, the hotel is a little noisy but if you visit the local restaurants you get enough liquid ... Ambien users ( RAKI). Highly RECOMMENDED!!! A lot of it is actually in the other reviews say, what confirm. The place is great. With a rented car, one can go to beautiful remote beaches or explore the island. The hotelier is omnipresent on request and tips. In August with strong wind you have to be prepared. The hotel is an all-around but for simple requirements. Who likes to want to have your peace and quiet, should have a room not with terrace, but with a small private balcony hope. If we go back on Crete, we will certainly book this hotel again. read more
