The Belvedere is centrally located in Grindlewald, a very short walk to the station and shops. The hotel is on the main road theough grindelwald and is very easy to find by car. The First gondola is just about walkable, but the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to both gondolas and the station and local bus stop are very close.
The great thing about the belvedere is the service. The staff are all so friendly, at least tri-lingual(!) and nothing is too much trouble. Our bedroom was huge, extremely comfortable with a pillow menu, satellite TV and a great ... shower. The restaurant is simply phenomenal. Wonderful ambience with a live pianist, superb service and top quality food. The bar is comfortable and relaxing with a great choice of cocktails and the lounge is comfortable and sociable with stunning views of the north face of the eiger. The spa is lovely with indoor and outdoor hot-tubs and a lovely pool. British guests beware: the sauna and steam room are nude zones!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this extremely friendly and comfortable family owned hotel. It is a top-end place and the price reflects that, but if you are looking to treat yourself then look no further than the Belvedere. read more

Recently we were allowed a very nice and relaxing week in Belvedere spend. The hotel is centrally located and is nevertheless quiet. The staff are from the front desk, on the service in the restaurant to the service extremely friendly, attentive, willing to help and courteous! The cuisine is brilliant and leaves nothing to the imagination. Children are very welcome and will be extremely gracious included! Furthermore undertakes the building to environmental sustainability on waste and maintenance.
All together a first-class address, that we definitely recommendable could. read more

The food was excellent (we had the 6-course meal) and the breakfast buffet had a huge selection. The rooms are big and clean. The pool area is not realy big but clean and nice. The hotel is near to the train station so you have good connections. I would definitely go again. read more

Unfortunately just for one night but nevertheless we enjoyed a very nice stay in the Hotel Belvedere.
A highlight was our very nice and generous hotel room, with fantastic views.
Dinner (6-course menu) and breakfast buffet offer everything your heart desires.
The wellness area is rather small, but very lovingly and comfortably decorated, the inviting outside -salt water jacuzzi, with also great view, is a must.
If you're looking for friendly staff, cleanliness and good food sets, is in the right place here.
We are thankful for the lovely stay and will gladly come again! read more

Very pleasant short stay. Whether sledding, skiing, schneeschuhwander... Everything is nearby.
After a schlitteltag relaxing we at the wellness in the hotel and sterckten us with an excellent 6 we're beachgoers supper. Today machtrn a trip on the jongfrsu yoke. Very recommendable!

This is the perfect and friendly place to stay for 3 nights. Competent staff, helpful and introduce you all the possibilities of the Ski area(s) nearby. Pool and sauna is the perfect relaxing place after a sportive day. Hotel, rooms, wellness very clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast buffet very delicious, dinning hall with view to the Eiger - coooool. Special wish are not a problem for the waitress and the kitchen. We will come back! read more

A really great hotel with very friendly staff, also on special requests accommodating and easily response. The spa is very nice and clean and varied for offer. Especially to mention is the outside pool, as well as the massages, what top were.
The architectural style and the furnishing remember a at an era of bygone days, in other words very styleful furnished and nevertheless in the newest condition. Very nice.
We did felt very comfortable and us good recovered and to come surely once again in Belvedere read more

The Hotel Belvedere. From the street your first impression is ‘ this is not Swiss’, nor is the name but as soon as you enter this 107 year old, 4 star family run hotel you realise you made the right choice in accommodation. The staff immediately make you feel, not just welcome, but as if you are a returning family member. The rooms are spacious, very well appointed and the views are just spectacular. You are totally surrounded by snow topped mountains. If you don’t feel like dining in the understated but excellent hotel restaurant you are just a short ... walk from the village centre, where there are an abundance of culinary delights to tempt even the fussiest eater. The Belvedere is the perfect base to explore all this region has to offer and after a hard day sightseeing, hiking or mountain exploring you can ease away any tension with a massage or a soak in the outdoor heated spa. This hotel has been in the same family since it was built which is what I really liked about it, as the Hauser family touches show up in so many ways – including on my return home a traditional style newspaper format newsletter. read more

The swimming pool with its outdoor saltwater jacuzzi is a must try
and great delight after a exhausting mountain trip.

I arrived jet lagged, exhausted, and needing to restore before business meetings in Zurich. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had chosen well: reception was warm and welcoming, porter available, my room opened onto a glorious view of the Eiger and was spacious, spotless, gracious, generously appointed (plenty of storage, kettle and tea, robes, quick and accurate room service, large spotless indoor pool, an outdoor saltwater jacuzzi looking out to mountains was beyond a good dream. Even a bad fall I had did not spoil my delight; I received excellent attention in its aftermath with ice cheerfully ... delivered to m room and taxis called to take me twice to an Interlaken medical office; good town and country walking advice; half board was generous in food choice, superbly prepared to one's preferences--and the selection of cheeses from which to choose after dinner was not only wide but the finest Switzerland has. One had the dangerous freedom to choose as much as one wanted. The hotel is family run, which shows in the personal touches and continuity of staff all of whom take pride in being a larger family. This was an unusual trip traveling alone; at no point did I feel either isolated or intruded upon. Parking good; hotel is close to the train, a pretty walk to the gondola to Mannlichen, 30" from Interlaken, and 20" from the Lauterbrunnen Valley. My view from my table-and-chaired, flower-covered balcony of the changing moods of the Eiger would have been perfection enough but the people and the hotel facilities made it a perfect four-day hiatus in a busy life. My thanks to all who quietly, kindly, and expertly made this possible, all in English with a gentle sense of humor. read more

We have our stay in the Hotel Belvedere very enjoyed. After our several hour hikes it was a delight, the wellness area with swimming and hot tub to use. Also the dinner ( with a view of the north face of the Eiger) was excellent and very varied. The staff were / is furthermore very friendly and helpful, so that our few holidays way too quickly were. read more

Four of us (parents and 2 adolescent sons) used this hotel as a base for our 3 days hiking in the Grindelwald region. We had a family room with double bed, and 2 converted beds, and 2 bathrooms. Perhaps a bit on the small side but as most of our time was spent either out hiking or relaxing using the hotel's other facilities this didn't impact our stay at all. Staff extremely attentive, friendly and informative without being intrusive. Hotel very clean, well run with good facilities; indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, and outdoor salt bath in the ... small but well kept garden looking across to the mountains. Hotel is well positioned to reach all local sites of interest either by public transportation or by car. Comfortable lounge and terrace areas with superb views to the Eiger. Good restaurant with excellent food and wine. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again and thoroughly recommend it. read more

Our stays at the Belvedere are always enjoyable. The staff are friendly and welcoming and try to meet every need. Nothing is too much trouble.
The otel has its own charm. It is not a characterless big chain hotel.
