During our round trip in Ireland we spend also a day in the hotel Maldron in Limerick. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel booked. The hotel Maldron is located on the outskirts of the town from Limerick. The Maldron hotel chain is in possession of 24 hotels in different counties the island Ireland. The city of Limerick has in Ireland a relatively bad reputation, what crime regards. Our tour operator in our experience therefore as a precaution recommended, only in the group in the evening into town to go. In the direct vicinity of the hotels we have ... no pubs or restaurants discovered. The room was big, clean and functional. In the room was a flatscreen tv. We could however no German channels. Also was a iron, Ironing board, coffee-/ tea maker and hair dryer available. The bathroom was with a bathtub shower combination equipped. The hotel-dining consisted of a restaurant and a bar on the ground floor. The dining room was in the 1st floor of the hotel. The breakfast was in buffet form offered and was very diverse. So there was next to the typical English dishes (sausages, tomatoes, bacon, eggs and so on) of course muesli, fruit, jams and juices. During dinner you could between two dishes to choose from, including a vegetarian dish. During dinner times were both coffee, as well as tea the serving staff was very friendly and very fast. The hotel offers also the following sporting activities at, fitness room, sauna, steam- and indoor pool. We used however none of these offers. The wellness-center is according to the information one of officials from 12:00 until 19:00 o'clock open. We had a pleasant short stay in the hotel Maldron in Limerick. read hotel review

Two nights we were in this hotel on a Ireland tour. The staff in the restaurant was uncozy, and appeared overworked, the Stiegenwagen with the dessert was just in the dining room and where the leftovers from the plates "swept" were turned off. On the second day with different crew on duty and as it was a bit better. There is always the friendliness of the Irish praised - not so here. If it's because we were part of a larger group? read hotel review

The hotel has a restaurant, bar and 3 or 4 floors. Each floor has a computer with Internet access (8 minutes for 1 Euro). On the ground floor or the Kellerräumlichkeiten is the gym and the pool and sauna/steam room. Both not really part of the hotel, but is a Fitnesskette. The hotel made it advertising and as a guest you can use this free. The hotel has two lifts and a parking garage. read hotel review

The rooms were nicely furnished and big. Cleanliness and functionality were good and we had a good night's sleep (if you don't mind delivery by the Aldi). The bed was big enough (estimated 1 , 80m), there was a big closet and a table. Unfortunately there was no safe in the room. It had an ironing board and iron, and a hair dryer.

The restaurant was a joke. We stayed here for two nights, several buses. The restaurant is like a cafeteria. It had good 100 people in the restaurant and fit all places were almost always fully occupied in the mornings and evenings. The level is to compare with a Großraumkantine and the region is so cramped that you sometimes buzzing with people not Forwards. You have to make reservations at night and in the morning you have to sit down to someone, because everything else is full. The staff sometimes so sloppy around (e.g. B. shirt depends on half way on the pants out), that you quite forgotten, in a 3 star hotel. We had booked 2 nights with a dinner, what a 3 course meal to a value of each 29 Euro meant. You could choose from 3-4 food and has been partially so quickly, that you suspect that it was ready in the kitchen. The quality of the food was mediocre. If I paid 29 euros, I would have been upset. The quality of the breakfast wasn't much better. The selection was relatively normal (toast, packaged jam, processed cheese, cereal, yogurt, Irish breakfast) but it really liked it.

The full gym is carpeted, what I personally all other than hygienic steep! The stains on the carpet and the mats were not very tasty. The gym has a relatively large Cardiobereich, but with no all to high-quality equipment. In addition, there is a Hantelecke and several items. The pool is about 20m long and there is Badekappenvorschrift - hygiene which was actually a joke when you are mildew on the ceiling in the locker room and viewing all the dirt everywhere. The tourist, which of course no cap for everyone, must buy one for 2 euros. There seems to be no Saunalandschaften in Ireland, steam room and sauna is right next to the pool and it's with bathing suits and without towel in. BE CAREFUL if you sit close together in about 6 people. The Damenumkleidekabinen were relatively new (if you don't mind from the mold on the ceiling), but the Männerumkleidekabine was in bad shape.

The hotel was located directly on a main street, right next to Aldi and Tesco. What caused you in the night based on the time of delivery would wake up, but still some time and not very quiet. about 5 minutes walk away you will find a bus stop where you in the city. Walking it takes approximately 25 minutes.
