The hotel has 10 floors, is thus relatively small. One has a lounge with computers and internet. You have but apart from that free wi-fi internet access, so that one itself with cell phone/laptop/i-pad could go online. Sometimes a bit slow, but at least available. Cleanliness was definitely. The hotel could perhaps be updated. read more

Room size was for 5 days ok. Equipment, rather old, but ok. The bathroom was very good, since one also finally counter space for two bag and not take go had. Our rooms were facing the inner courtyard, thus rather quiet. View accordingly not really so good. But honestly: either i'm going to New York and just have to live with it, that i noisy and turbulent or i will not to New York. And the view from the room can one also sausage are, as i do not drive because of the hotelzimmeraussicht back, or? Tip: ear plugs carry forward or away remain!

The staff's hospitality is mixed. Of very friendly until rather reserved. A member of staff, i was always in my heart, as i on the way from jfk to the hotel my cell phone in the shuttle i leave. Had no flag, or receipt, still name (so everything is made wrong, what can be) and the nice young man has so long phone, until i my cell phone again had on the next day. Foreign languages i cannot judge, but why should they also speak german? I have english, if i as to go, not vice versa. Room cleaning was good, according to floor quite early. In the evenings the best the sign out 'do not disturb!' And if one goes in the morning, back flip, then the later again.

Great location, 2 blocks from the Empire State Building away. Direct over the street is the subway. For total 7,50 Dollar one comes into about an hour to the airport jfk (with the subway and then from Jamaica with the air train). Cheaper it is not. From jfk to the hotel we had super a shuttle, also worked well, but cost 37 Dollar plus tip. Taxi costs circa 45 Dollar plus tip. There are plenty of small shops (including seven eleven ) just round the corner, where you can get drinks, breakfast, sweets, etc. Buy can.

My girlfriend and i felt very comfortable! Great hotel for the small price in the middle in the heart of New York! All the staff were super nice and always very helpful! Our room was in the backyard and it was totally quiet on the 4. floor. The furniture is old, the light artificial, but despite all a great! The unique location was great, since one almost everything to reach on foot could. The siloh cafe was delicious and our first port of call in the morning! The breakfast there was very diverse and not too expensive. Our summary: if ... again New York City, then this hotel! read more

Clean city hotel with a very convenient location. Empire State Building is on foot about minutes away. Underground station 5 minutes. Department store macy 10 minutes. Rockefeller Center is also to reach on foot, about 30 minutes on foot. Breakfast possibilities next door and opposite. Verhungern one does not do. The hotel is for a short city break recommendable. Cheaper limousine service can in the house be ordered. Drive with stretschlimousine costs 55 Dollar plus brückentax and tip to the airport jfk. read more

The right not to expensive hotel for a shorter stay in Manhattan. Our room was rather small, but very dark, because the dark inner courtyard went. The hotel has only 10 floors, is in the 32 th. Road 34 east, right in the middle in Manhattan. In the entrance area couches prospecke for excursions of any type from, you can also excursions on the front desk book. There is a lounge with possibility for internet (costs 10 minutes = 2 €and is very slow). There is an elevator and a narrow flight of stairs. The rooms to the street are quite loud, others are quite dark backyard. Underground station and bus stop very close, is in a 'side street'. Our room(204) was quite small, 1 chair, no cabinet-only one clothes with hutablage and 3 drawers in the tv cabinet. The bed is felt 1.30 meters wide with a blanket (sheet with eingewickelter blanket), quite high, but comfortable. Rather soft, but still okay. There are no hot light a bulb, but only cold light from a type of fluorescent tube. The bathroom was clean, quite large and you had every time warm water! The large disadvantage was a functioning, but very loud (but abstellbare ) air conditioning. The windows are only simply vitreous, so that all the noises right were there. You had the feeling you lived directly on the street. If in the morning at 04:30 the trash collection came, is the night for the time being over. Perhaps it is the on the upper floors better?

  • Gastronomy
    2.0

Without catering. In the room was a well-functioning refrigerator. A snack bar was directly next to it with connecting door to the hotel. There you could for example mornings coffee and tea and if you wanted something warm food.

  • Service
    3.0

The staff speaks amongst others english, no german and helps for example with the call within New York. The cleaning of the rooms was done well, but with 08:30 hours early. The service was quite different, but definitely not unfriendly.

  • Sport & Entertainment

No direct leisure activities in the hotel. There were brochures for everything, what you in and around New York make can, from. There is a internet access at a charge( slow ) a guest lounge, the with air-conditioning equipped. Otherwise the town offers everything.

Only a couple of steps the 5 th avenue and about 20 minutes on foot the lower end of the centralpark. But good metro and bus connection. A larger supermarket (for the, the time a real cheap eat) is in the 85 th. Street. The shops surrounding are rather small and in the evening one must with cash are charged.

The hotel is located in the 32. street, so in the heart of manhattan. Also on foot is very good everything, but also the subway is right around the corner. A great city hotel, with a great location. Rooms are rather Spartan and quaintly furnished, but clean! The bathroom came and fairly new/renovated. Had a room to street. At night was very loud, we had however a little disturbed, have nevertheless sleep well. That was probably the jetlag :-) Free Wi-Fi in the lobby. The hotel's location is great (34 East 32. Street between Madison avenue and park avenue, 1 block away from the empire State building). The ESB is even from the room/ window to see - really beautiful lighting in the evening! Hotel cleanliness was completely fine. The lobby and the front desk very clean! The hotel room was practically furnished and big enough. The bathroom was for 2 people adequate cut ( bath tub with fault, toilet and large washbasin) - inclusive hair dryer ( Beware: here not too much Power expect). Right from the hotel were 2 subway stations (a ... uptown/downtown). The way up to the Broadway is however also on foot very well done ( about 10 minutes) to the Manhattan mall. Next to the hotel there is a small shop (here you can drinks and other details shopping), cheaper price ( mostly cheaper than in other shops). Also a delicious breakfast is right near the hotel there. Just this right out of the hotel until the corner, then turn right again and next traffic Lights on the other side of the street are already 2 delicious restaurants to see. Definitely here pancakes with syrups and grilled banana try! Tasty and price-performance superb. The hotel reception was very friendly and well understandable. A late flight and from the hotel desired early check out (11 hours) is locked luggage storage directly next to the reception available. This can only from the reception be opened-clear plus point! So even the day of departure in thoroughly without bothering luggage in NY enjoyed be. The room was cleaned daily. The bed linen even within the week changed, so as the towels changed daily! In the room is an airco, a small fridge and a tv included. Respect: air conditioning and fridge are quite noisy-better window open and for sleeping close! Fridge from the wall, so that the constant Hum the earned sleep disturbs. All together the hotel was a real gem! Great location, top cleanliness, top friendliness! You can with confidence recommend. Tip I: definitely a weeks-U -railway ticket for 29 Dollar buy. It is worthwhile really and protects the feet! Tip II: from the airport ( JFK) with the airtrain and the subway directly to the hotel drive. Airtrain costs 5 Dollar ( Combi-ticket with the metro for 1 day 7. 25 Dollar). Buses and taxis are mostly in the rush hour and are quite full. The airtrain and the subway were super quick and also sufficiently seats available. Note: in this review cannot statements to ' sport, entertainment',' dining '' family friendliness' be made. To 'was handicap friendly' can only be said, that a elevator is available. Complaints gave it from no! read more

Grand union hotel, in the middle of Manhattan, just one block from the empire State building, 10 minutes footpath from Grand Central Station away, between park and Madison avenue-is ideal for New York- tourist, the a clean guteszimmer for sleeping need and apart from that on the magnificent city focus. Rooms are without a balcony, pool, dining and safe, but very clean and so central in the town, as it hardly better, but absolutely affordable. Room to the inner courtyard even surprisingly quiet. For new York proportions are the rooms large. We had two rooms with this so well. In our room had however some problems, especially with the bathroom. The water in the shower amended without the degree of what to do comfortable warm tobloody cold'... The mounting the shower/bath by Anne I had on the first day in the hand and had to be fixed. Toilet was on the final day clogged, was no more water after, leverage of the toilet was loose and fell continuously from. Heating in the room ran almost not at all, in the winter really cold there. room are equipped with a small fridge, TV with only American programs, large double bed, small Clothes rack, hair dryer in the bathroom.

Opposite the hotel is the café silo, really nice for breakfast. The CAFE in the hotel (Captains cafe) didn't inviting and so we weren't visit from us. A block away you will find enough options for shopping and lots of restaurants. Subway line 6 is also around the corner.

Size of the room more than enough, Bathroom new and clean, Great tv, Heating/ air conditioning fully functional but not needed, In our room was even a iron with ironing board (from the wall folding) Hotel without Fruechstück, but not needed as a café is next door and a Starbucks 2 blocks away( very recommendable) read more

Size was more than enough, Interior was already somewhat older but clean, Double beds were 'only' 160 centimeters wide but very comfortable (plush mattresses) A small fridge was in the room and could be used free of charge. You could also food & various snacks order (menu in the room), but we did not try it out. Unfortunately, there was no safe in the room, would therefore recommend passport, credit & money with you. Very many sockets, hair dryer in the bathroom.

About 10 minutes on foot from Times Square as well as Herald square( great for shopping: Macy's, Victoria's Secret, cap, and many other more) away. Empire State building is just around the corner, Two hundred meters and one is at the fifth avenue! Countryside (4, 6) underground station '33rd street' right in front of the house! Transfer to/from to the airport (JFK) by taxi about 40 minutes and costs about 60 dollars (after flat rate questions! Inclusive toll& tip)

Stayed in October three nights at the grand Union hotel. The rooms are not too big, but functional equipped (egtl were there only to sleep in the room). The location of the hotel is simply great-right on the Empire State building and fifth avenue at the. Food-Starbucks we had no place to eat breakfast is only about three minutes walk away, other restaurants right next to the fifth avenue. Traffic connections was great, also sight seeing buses run directly from the Empire State building ☺ Times square also easy to reach on foot. All in all: price/performance ratio was absolutely! ... Would definitely recommend this hotel in any case again. read more

Good Decision!

The hotel is a good decision former. The location can't be beat. We explored most of new York on foot. But the metro is good. The room was clean and for the short amount of time, the one in the room has spent more than adequate. The tv and the bathroom were quite new. We had a room to the backyard. I think, that we were lucky, because the rooms facing the street are certainly somewhat louder than the courtyard (new York is loud). Otherwise, the doors and walls are rather thin. If you mind that-take ear plugs ☺ We ... ate out. The adjoining restaurant so we can say nothing. The staff is rather quiet (rarely got a 'Hello' from the front desk, if you don't first says). They are friendly and helpful but (we immediately got a room, although it is not ours was. They kindly changed just the rooms). The safe was free of charge and at the front desk. In the lobby there is Internet (6 $per half hour). New York is otherwise really worth seeing. It is noisy, fast and crowded. The new York are a very special person: you must always be stupid saying ☺ It was a beautiful vacation and the hotel has contributed in any case. read more

We had a wonderful week in new York. The hotel is an ideal starting point for shopping and sightseeing in the Big Apple. The metro is fantastic and the Empire State is right next to the house. Sadly the room was in the backyard a bit noisy, because of the constantly running air conditioners. Otherwise, we will be back! read more

This is the second time was there. Small, centrally located hotel. The room size was ok. The double bed a bit small. The room was cleaned every day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. read more

It's a typical NYC hotel. Very spartan. The hotel offers itself no breakfast, but right next door is a cafe (Pancaces, bagels, etc. ) Also is very centrally located and is set in the immediate vicinity also Früstücksmöglichkeiten. There is a wireless Internet access in the lobby or either on the PC's provided for Endgelt. It's a typical NYC hotel. Spartan. When we were there, there were a small table with a chair, a chair and a small chest of drawers in the room available. Next to the queen size bed (approx. 140 * 200) there were two bedside tables. was fine since there was a pole with "Hutablage" on the wall. The bathroom had a toilet, a sink and a bath with shower. Also was en hair dryer on the wall. A swing-TV was also available. But they could be repairs, it is rather everything old. The theme "heat" I have to disagree with my rater. But, it has to be added that we on the 10th floor (last floor) and "two" side had no neighbors. It was just a very small radiators in room available, which was more bad than good work (time for 10 minutes was warm, then the heating for 50 minutes cold). The bathroom had no heating available. I guess our Zimmertemp to max. 15-17 Degrees. After about 1 hour. In the room they are starting to freeze. On the bed were also only a sheet and a blanket (for 2 people). This didn't get to sleep at night without freeze. We have a second combination used (twice), and in "long" beds slept in. The bathroom was also one couldn't heat when you shower the water always hot and cold. (and I mean! ). If you are lucky you could 2 minutes with little is subject showers. Something that was really annoying after consultation with the hotel we had another room, but we didn't have time irgendiwe ... It was a daily maid service in the room and changed the towels and toilet paper etc. filled shower gel. Cleanliness was OK.

Na as you don't have to say much about it. E32nd Street / Maddison Ave. 50 meters to the subway. 2 blocks from Broadway (approx. 5 minutes. ) 10 blocks to the TimesSquare in 5 minutes walking distance so Macy's right in the middle of it all! Much could not have been better ...
