Grand Hotel very central, weaknesses in the service

The intercontinental Warschau is a high rise with 43. floors. For me design a Grandhotel (because of the marble and the many noble woods). The condition the 2003 opened hotels is ok. Here and there a few usage like for instance stains on the carpets in hallway and rooms. The lobby was in spite of the season (snow and ice) clean, warm and has for christmas after cinnamon smell (have sprayed deodorizer spray like). What unfortunately not ok is, that for wi pay must. This is not up-to-date anymore and bordered on rip-off. A shame! The guest structure continued mostly ... by geschäftsfleute and couples in advanced age together. read more
  • Room
    5.0

The room is simple to elegant. It is through the dark and attractive walnut. But also the bathroom is through the marble and the size definitely 5 star value. The bed was pleasantly soft and generous soft. With the led-flat screen tv, it also some german channels.

  • Gastronomy
    5.0

We used as already described and one bar for a 'drink' in the late evening. The bar was about 11:30 p. m. very well visited. The beer was from the price on 5 star level. The breakfast is in the restaurant 'downtown ' in buffet form arranged. There were enough seats and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. There was even a musician the cosy and classic music on a harp playing. The buffet was huge and of a very good quality. There was everything that you could wish for. Fresh eggs, different sorts of fish, fruit, yogurt, sweet desserts, polish specialities. Only the bread selection was a bit thin. There was but also the possibility espresso and different coffee varieties (Latte Macciato and so on) free of charge to order.

  • Service
    2.0

The service was in my opinion unfortunately one star hotel or Grandhotel not worthy. Why?: - the check in ran sluggishly and took about 20 minutes. For a hotel with 404 rooms was to rush-hour of the eincheckens only 2 receptionists available. - the staff the bar (+ one bar) were badly organized. So it happened, that about 60 used glasses on the counter storage were, before this then not at all until much later washed up. - on demand the roomservice why the wifi on the 33. floor not working, told me, that this only in the lobby respectively on the 1. floor (bar and restaurant) free of charge is. Unfortunately it was a wrong information there is subject to a charge.

  • Sport & Entertainment
    6.0

The spa area on the 43. floor is surely the heart of the hotel. Nice lobby, changing rooms were available. The main pool is beautifully large and about up to 1,40 meters deep. The temperature was pleasant. The jacuzzi is well heated around 36 to 38 c °. However, on, that there was a lot of chlorine in it. Partially schaumüberflutung. The steam bath and the sauna are through a corridor separately and also big enough. There are two showers available. There is also a very well equipped fitness center. 8 treadmills of the highest standard. Many muskelgeräte. Overall, there was at all levels free water (also with taste) and the view, if no fog, is unique. By the way : the pool is the highest pool in europe)!

  • Location

The location of the hotel is certainly the non-plus-ultra. It is very centrally situated right next to the main train station (warszawa centralna ; 5 minutes on foot). Until in the historic part (old town) one drives with the taxi about 5 minutes. Directly next to the hotel and the train station is a huge and state-of-the-art shopping mall (designer ; H&M, foodcourt etc.). From the major airport Chopin one drives directly to centralna about 20 minutes. From modlin one drives about 40 minutes (careful: train and bus transfer necessary). Otherwise taxi from modlin for 99 zloty.

Inter continental warsaw is due to its size and architecture widely known. The guest rooms are on floors 20 to 42 an great view is guaranteed. As are comfortable beds, a lot of space, flat screen tv, free wi-fi, kettle, mini bar and elegant atmosphere absolute guarantees in every room type. The only part of the building not spacious is, is of the lobby. Check many a-or it is very tight in the small front desk. The staff tried but hard, everything is so fast and accurate as possible. On floors 43 and 44 there is a wellness area with ... indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and fitness room - everything with a unique view over the city. In direct near the hotel there is hardly any food or shops. The main station there are approximately 600 meters from the hotel. From here drive penalty and direct trains to the airports warszawa international, as well as warszawa modlin. There is also a huge shopping center with restaurants, shopping and a grocery store. The historic part from Warschau is good 20-30 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by taxi reachable. I the hotel can well recommended! read more

This hotel i have after some time once again visited. It was excellent again. The intercontinental in Warschau is a typical 5 stars hotel, it is located directly opposite from the palace of culture. There is apartments in the lower floors, in the hallways until 38 are the normal rooms, from 39-43 the club lounge room and 44-45 floor spa, pool and fitness center. Service brilliant! Is the pool on the 43 floor with view over the town. On the 44 floor is the big, very good equipped fitness center with all devices. Sauna, solarioum, steam bath, jacuzzi, nice service. ... I booked standard and a deluxe room received. Flat tv, telephone, high speed internet, bathroom with bathtub and shower, espresso machine, kettle, safe, mini bar. read more

We had a double room booked, which as large room with kitchenette included dishwasher and microwave, as well as bathroom with very large shower and bath tub turned out. Great! And the for that price! Really recommendable. The bed consisted of a mattress and boxspring. For two large enough, only boxspring is not my thing. But it was not worn. read more

We were on the 38. floor and had a great view over Warschau. The fitness facilities we have enthusiastically use. In the evening the pool with candles lit and received a cosy ambience. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, the staff polite and very attentive, the beds super comfortable. Due to the central location we could many attractions to reach on foot. 4 nights at the 5 star hotel Intercontinental. There is nothing to fault - everything okay. Great swimming pool in the 42nd floor with a view of Warschau. Centrally located at the main station located. We are Berlin with the Warschau express arrived. Great breakfast buffet. Big room with a nice view over Warschau. In August we have a night only 78 Euro for the double room with breakfast paid. The hotel we could really warmly recommend! Warschau is worth a trip - great CITY! read more

The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Both french, as well as american, as well as asian meals were for breakfast offered. Also good the offer for fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc. Newspaper cuttings in several languages for breakfast available. The breakfast may expensively sound, is its price but worth it. Other restaurants were not used. In the shopping center nearby are in the basement numerous different restaurants available, which can be used (in the summer outside)

Super five star hotel, 5 minutes to the main station, shopping mall and center. We booked only night, thus the gastronomy not rated. The room was very well equipped, very modern, with oldschool elements like for instance a Secretary and a tea bar. Unfortunately the hotel has no rooms with a balcony, nevertheless large window for a perfect views over Warschau. Relax we could hrs free of charge in the sauna, by the pool or jacuzzi at the last two floors of the hotel. Here definitely once the camera along, since the view when day and night is fantastic. The ... review in all cases we have with a clear conscience and would therefore go back. Who however no Polish or English speaks, it has at the front desk a bit hard. At least spoke with trip there and back two front desk employees no or if only broken German. Nevertheless we have the foreign languages skills with good. read more

Intercontinental-Hotel Class

The Intercontinental is located close to the main station and has a very good connection. The Intercontinental is one of the best intercontinental hotels, I've stayed in. The breakfast was a dream, there was really everything. My room (a junior suite number 3618) was very clean and spacious. Only, that the door was not completely closed, it didn't bother me. The check-in and check-out was quick and easy. To be recommended in any case a room with lounge access. The lounge offers everything what is needed. Furthermore, there is a delicious, small buffet. The Warsaw Intconti I would recommend it ... without doubt. read more

The most convincing argument for the Warsaw intercontinental are nice, large rooms. However is the staff not special warm, but... Oh well... Rather Polish cool. read more

the rooms are delightfully large and comfortable furnished. Modern facilities. In the bathroom there was a walk-in shower and a bathtub. From the upper floors great view of the city.

The breakfast is difficult reasonable. Nice atmosphere with harp player. Large, versatile offer. Also much fruit and vegetarian things.

The service is okay. The staff seemed a bit grumpy. After several stays it worked with my newspaper not yet.

The swimming pool and the fitness center are on the top floors and are stunning. Great view, rodent leue devices, pleasant atmosphere.

The Intercontinental is located almost directly in Warsaw center, next to main station and culture. A massive shopping center is only a few steps away. Comfortable Pubs and bars you however in vain.

Excellent hotel in a central location with all the amenities. Great spa and sports area with extensive views over the city and of the palace of culture. My opinion is the breakfast overpriced, but it was not used. read more

Top hotel with excellent facilities archived

A great hotel with the best facilities in a central location. The opportunity for "normal" time at a reasonable cost of staying in a 5 star hotel, if you are going to the internet for cheap nights. However beat all further costs enormous to book: LAN should be 20 euro per day, breakfast and the minibar was also beyond good and evil, but the hotel bar ("+ one bar") on the first floor is quite nice and for a hotel bar normal prices. But the use of swimming pool and fitness center included, would definately recommend for the view from ... the 43 and 44 Floor. It is very impressive, laps of hours from the palace of culture to move read more

Very large rooms (also in the standard-area) with all imaginable each room, working desk, seating area. Bathroom with shower and bath amenities in down comforters. Special Gimmick: the so-called "pillow menu with various types of pillows to choose from - funny idea! Everything new and very clean.

  • Gastronomy
    6.0

We only visited the "+ one bar" with piano music, very nice and comfortably furnished, all other gastronomic facilities but did a good impression - but we didn't use it.

  • Service
    6.0

Staff very friendly and helpful, the room cleaning excellent, all possible services available, but partly very expensive (e.g. B. Laundry - you could almost new things in Poland buy for the prices).

  • Sport & Entertainment

Gym and pool was great, superbly equipped (and included in the price!). It was huge, from the swimming pool or teaching bay from 30-40 km far to look out of the city and country! Only exception: the "sauna" is only a steam room.

Very central location: just a few meters to the train station (they are also bus to the airport, line 175 ), to the ZłoteTarasy (one of the biggest shopping malls in Europe), to the Palace of Culture, but it is also in 20 min walk to the university and 30 minute walk to the old town. In the area there were enough good opportunities to breakfast.

The old town is far to walk. But that is about the only downer about this high end hotel. The location of the fitness area, including swimming pool, on the top floor was terrific. The largest mall in Europe is right next door. read more

We were in the Intercontinental felt very comfortable. The location was ideal, the connection very good. We are from the airport, take the bus 175 until Dworzec centralny (about 30 Minutes) and paid approx 200 meters to the hotel. Ticket costs for easy drive for about 0.70 €. All in all a great hotel, everyone was very friendly and courteous. I can only recommend! The prices were also ok. If you want to go shopping, just right from the hotel ca. 100 meters in the shopping center "zloty terrace" There are about 200 shops, lots of nice cafes and ... restaurants and everything covered. read more
