Centrally located hotel with about 150 rooms, rooms are clean and came with a flat screen tv and fridge.
We had 7 nights with breakfast and 2 dinner for a total of 178 Euro per person booked, under this price is the evaluation to see. read more

The food was a disaster, we were there for 4 days there and were very happy when the time was. And the in a 4 star hotel. We travel only in this category, what we experienced was appalling. The hotel lobby makes with a dark, stained floor a rather dingy impression. The rooms were okay, however nothing special cleaned, the bathroom is way too small. In the hallways everything made a neat impression. The dinner with the half-board can one forget, mashed potatoes out of the bag, only 1 vegetables to choose from (rather unseasoned!) And 1 hour after the ... beginning of the dinner totally overcooked and sticky, the meat much too well done (choice: only 2 sorts), carelessly displayed the salad buffet, the dressing i get home better. The department cold plate looks like sausage Aldi, usual and also carelessly displayed. The desserts are also mostly out of the bag, tasted very after chemistry. The breakfast was somewhat in order, unfortunately Nutella through a bad sweet nut nougataufstrich replaced. Honey from plastikdöschen, 4 no name jam, well, and the Latte Macchiato comes from a powder automat. Well it is also a great, quick access no tears to dry. Dinner buffet was of the variety and quality rather bad, the breakfast was but good. And in the private restaurant à la carte was the dinner reasonable. The mattresses were unfortunately way too soft, otherwise the rooms but good. Ski and toboggan hire there is right at the hotel and to the elevator it was only 5 minutes on foot. read more

For a short break from 3a 4 days the hotel you can quite but recommend 9 days for breakfast and half board in the evening too few variety at the supply ( even if the menu very good read but here you have use of leftovers optimal learned.) Our complaint, the ancient syphon from sink in our bathroom leaked, was thankfully noted, but the trickle under the sink ran away. The hotel is worth every star. The rooms bright and friendly, great view on Oberwiesenthal and keilberg (4. floor panoramic book)! Wellness area has 4 saunas (very clean) and a sufficient massage. Top was booked half board, the food was in quality and quantity very good.
It was a pleasant and peaceful atomsphere ( before the winter holidays) for winter sports the location of the hotel is amazing. Directly at slopes and cross-country ski runs.
All of the staff, from the front desk on waiter to the cleaning lady, were very friendly and welcoming warm-here one feels honest welcome!
If ... you have moaned should times relaxation and stay there again and german output appreciate 4 stars you have to also pay. read more

We had the new years eve allowance booked. Not so great was the structure of the buffets in the foyer, since the cooking smells in all floors was. The silvestergalabüfett was great. For new year's we were with friends and children in the Hotel Birkenhof. The hotel is located just a stone's throw from the ski lifts. Breakfast and dinner buffet left nothing to be desired. Although the hotel was fully booked, we were always friendly and attentive in the restaurant served. Great panoramic views of the beautiful mountain landscape from the comfortable room. The hotel offers also daily activities as hikes, sport and leisure activities. From Berlin it is only a stone's throw away to Oberwiesenthal. We will be back. read more

We booked with a larger group (25 persons) the new year spent in the hotel. Despite full occupancy of the hotel the staff were always in the location our wishes to fulfill ( and there were not a few) and also always very accommodating.
The ski cellar we found a bit small, here you should with a magnification think.

On friday was the dinner the buffet was great. But on saturday would have the dinner the buffet could be better.

It was our 2. the Best Western. We have last year already times a short break there and were very enthused.
Optically in the year did nothing, also apart from that, the hotel is remained as it is.
The hotel is a grandma-paradise. Many older visitors, especially coach tours. But well, that's not bad. From the optics it was already older and accordingly not super modernly furnished. But we were looking for a hotel, that nearby the ski lifts, etc. Is, and since the hotel is certainly a the best alternatives.
Of the half board i would generally advise ... you not to go there. The food is edible, but not really brilliant. Noisy preisaushang it costs per day and person 18 Euro. Drinks must be bought extra. And for the money you could be better cook and also delicious eat out. Would stay here in cz go. Delicious and cheap.
Breakfast is simple and very simple kept. It was enough, but could be a bit more tasty.
Recommendable is the erzgebirgsstube in the hotel. The food there was delicious.
Parking i think still exaggerated and too expensive. 7,50 Euro per day are for the hotel guests much. May be, that outside it is more expensive, but of guests so much to require i find simply rude. Parking space is not guarded and also not cleared. Clear drawback!
Location is great for winter sports. Hill is 3-4 minutes away.
Staff were nice and helpful. No problems, on the contrary everything was great.
Conclusion a few small cons the hotel has certainly, overall but it is an excellent hotel for winter sports. Would no other hotel choose, because the location the difference makes in comparison for the price.
