The hotel de France is designed for tourists, for a city break to Straßburg come. Maybe in the week also people on business trip, the is however not my issue.
The hotel lies brilliant in the city center of Straßburg. On foot about 5 minutes to Petite France and 15 minutes to the Münster. Rates are very comfortable and the offer matches. We traveled in a group and all had very different room. Ours was spacious, but the bathroom ( with bath tub) quite small. Cleanliness and furnishings were okay. The ladies at the reception were all friendly and helpful ..., unfortunately only a lady spoke poor German.
The breakfast buffet was moderate: little sausage- and cheese, packaged jam, altogether not very inviting, in a environment, like the 70. Jahre reminded ( Plastikeindruck ).
A hot box is the underground car park. Until you're in there sweated one blood and water, and during the car inside, it is hoped, that one of the neighbor not shabby. But at least: in the city centre a garage!
In short: nothing breathtaking, but fair price-performance ratio and great location, therefore recommendation! read more

For a city break after strasbourg ideally located, unfortunately only with breakfast service. Staff at front desk spoke hardly any German, English and naturally french ok. Parking garage about 400 meters away, day 20 €, is from the hotel on 16 €reduced. Breakfast was all right, ham, sausage, cheese, fruits and juices for offer. Not far from the Münster and petit France. read more

We were for 4 days in this hotel. The location is great, both Petite France, as well as to the Münsterplatz only few minutes on foot. Our standard room was functional with mini bar and tv, unfortunately however oh. German. Channels; we would have had the messages and the weather prognosis interested. As in a city hotel, we heard at night the noise from the street. Toilet is separate, but the distinction is both in the
Toilet, as well as in the shower very cramped, for a few days the. The staff at the reception was always very friendly. The ... two men, the breakfast -service ones had to rush hour a friendly smile and were always attentive. Fast was cleared and always refilled, before something was gone. read more

The room was very noisy - noise from the street and other guests. A window didn't close. The beds are uncomfortable. The choice of tv Transmitter ridiculous. No mini bar. The atmosphere for breakfast more uncomfortable. The breakfast itself is OK, both of offer, as well as quality. For one night the hotel is suitable. From longer stays was rather not advised. The location is however optimal. read more

Hotel was all right and very centrally located.
Room was clean and quite newly renovated.
Hotel parking garage close, but recommendable nonetheless.
Breakfast buffet was high reasonable, but very carelessly. A waiter with the size of the area overstrained. He came with clearing and buffet improve not to. A shame.
Atmosphere at the breakfast buffet unfortunately impaired, by loud, small room.
Coffee was good coffee. read more

Freshly renovated rooms, also the hotel was at the front desk still undergoing renovation.
One is fast at the sights from Straßburg.
The staff were very friendly and one could on German or English well inform oneself.

The ladies at the reception could be described as everything else than friendly.I had them explain the way to the hotel's parking garage and they told me I should drive around the block once. Since we searched for the hotel 45 (!) minutes I said "Drive once around the block again" and their snappy reply: Now calm down!So we parked our car and got our room card. We were not informed of breakfast times, city map, etc. only after request. The view into the room was anything but pleasant, small, narrow, dirty, burned carpet, hair in the bed, on ... the bathroom tileseverywhere ! No minibar available, there was a vending machine in the lobby where all the little liquor bottles, cost € 2.The "main lamp" was broken, no "fresh" bed sheets were given. All the more they thought if we do not like it, we could leave! The coffee machine (automatic) did not work! Apart from that the breakfast room was not recommendable, we just let it beInternet access, there was 1 (!) PC luckily we had our laptop with us, and it worked well.A very badly soundproofed hotel with shabby rooms that were not even worth € 20!!Sorry I could only advise against it! read more

The hotel was centrally located in Strasbourg and had its own pay parking garage (16 € per day). The staff was very friendly and spoke German well. The room (superior) was completely renovated, quiet and of average size. The breakfast was okay.Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the hotel after the great promotional photos on the internet. But the 3 * standard was reached. read more
