I have this hotel due to its proximity to Paddington Station dialed, from where with the subway into town and at the end of the trip with the express -train to Heathrow to come. The hotel is located two parallel streets of Paddington-station in a series of other hotels, not far, however also not so close to the train station, if you have luggage to carry The area works especially not so sure. The front door is however secured and the hotel looks decent. The owner was very friendly. The breakfast was not very special. The hotel itself was alright ..., the price was correct. In walking distance there were grocery stores and pubs. read more

With 40 rooms the hotel is not overly large, just the outcome of this probably the charm. The Darlington is not new anymore, but everything is in an acceptable condition. Access to the hotel and in the hallways and rooms is through the key card possible in his wallet simply put your keys, certainly an advantage. The breakfast is served in the basement area in a cozy breakfast room. In the whole hotel there were complimentary wireless Internet access. read more

We had a family room in the basement. The room has two separate rooms with a door and a bathroom with a tub. The size I would on circa 25 square meters. The condition is, as is the rest of the hotel, not new anymore, but they are well maintained. The room was at the back to a small courtyard. In a city like London was of course bonus, and therefore very quiet. I had a quieter room still in London. The room has a fridge and a safe. There is a kettle, tea with an instant coffee. Both rooms have booked one TV on the you 12 English stations. We only used for news, in London, you better things to do; )

  • Gastronomy
    5.0

In the restaurant you could order choose whether you the continental buffet, or whether you want to have a full English breakfast freshly prepared. Both there is actually nothing to criticize Unlike some but that the buffet could be a little more, but this is actually complain of a high standard. Even if already mentioned above, it has to be the friendly, obliging nature of the staff to mention again.

  • Service
    6.0

The staff was always very friendly and courteous. So much friendliness that I have rarely experienced at breakfast. The reception is always tried to do everything to our satisfaction. The rooms were cleaned every day. We have English spoken with the staff, if any other language skills available, I wouldn't judge.

The hotel is centrally located in London in the Paddington district. The Hyde Park is just a few hundred meters. The subway stations Paddington and Edgware Road are also only a few minutes away. Nearby are some small shops, but also supermarkets, for example. At a Marks & Spencer Edgware Road.

The hotel is very good with the subway to reach, great location for a Städttetrip. From Stansted airport by Stansted Express to Liverpoolstreet and then to Lancaster Gate and then about ten minutes to walk. The bathroom in the hotel is small but very clean and the breakfast in the hotel is basic, but ok. This hotel I can only recommend it. read more

We had a family room which was located in the basement. We had view of the smallest courtyard of the world.; ) At least he was plants and you're wide awake staring out anyway and not in front of the window. We were only there for a sleep. There were 2 flat screen tv and a DVD player in the room. Of course we didn't use it. The room was divided into two sections, the "parents" was a bit cramped, and the bed was not very large. So with a large man at my it would be very very tight, and there was only a large ceiling. But we were given a extra blankets. The bathroom was super-large with bath and decent shower head. There was no balcony or terrace.

  • Gastronomy

We had booked only breakfast and that was ok. You could order the typical English breakfast or just toast with jam food. Unfortunately, there was no sausage and cheese was always immediately empty and was not restocked. There was also always fruit.

  • Service
    5.0

Everything was great, only the receptionist could have been a little more friendly. You never looked bored and was a bit defensive. The general night manager was very helpful and we were given a ceiling at 1 extra. The cleaning lady comes every day.

The hotel was, as already described an older building, but the inside has been renovated. The cleanliness of the hotel is ok, they implement in the field of room service, but not too picky. Morning breakfast was included in the price. The guest structure was very mixed during our stay. Next to English were especially guests from France and Spain, German but except for us. Also the guests were relatively old on average about 40-60 years old. read more

The size of the room was fine for two people. There was no air conditioning, but a TV with a unfortunately only english TV had to offer, but what you for 3-4 days it could stand; ) safe and a fridge were also available, we were greeted with 2 small bottles of water which was very nice. Unfortunately, there wasn't a balcony. The condition of the room was with the exception of the PVC soil in the bathroom which I didn't pleasant found enough and the old working windows. The one negative was the shower head, the firm on the wall and a problem for tall people.

There is a breakfast restaurant in the basement area. The quality of the breakfast was British standards not bad. Please see the other posts.

The staff was always friendly and tried to fulfill the wishes or but also to objections to respond. Apart from English language skills were not available. The room service was okay, you can in a hotel of this calibern't expect too much, while it is true that there is no real reason to complain.

The hotel is located close to the Paddington station where you can catch a subway or different suburban trains relatively quickly reach the center. Walking is also the Hyde Park, approximately in about 10 minutes. Shopping and a few restaurants located in the hotel's surroundings as well, but here with a few exceptions were not all to be recommended. Recomendable to eat the center for example to Leicester Square or the inner city but also the Westend.

Room was on the 2nd floor. Floor. Slow elevator. Room about 20 square meters + bathroom about 5 square meters (538 square feet). Bathroom with a large window. Very good shower and tub, always hot water. Furnishing was in order. Kettle with coffee and tea. No mini-bar. TV English. Hair dryer. Beds narrow and a bit soft. Room was clean enough. Due to wooden floors you could hear the people in the above floor walk around, but never voices from the neighbors. Room was looking out to the street. Due to Einglas-windows very noisy in the morning. At night but ok. Absolutely sufficient and ideal for a city trip.
