Hotel Schloss Mönchstein^{(5.5 stars)}

Hotel Schloss monk is especially recommendable due to its nice quiet location on the mountain monk. The entrance is a bit complicated, therefor you can directly from the hotel beautiful walks in the mountain ridge undertake and not very far removed elevator down to the city. The hotel is an elegant building, stylish equipped. You can find more information on various terraces coffee drink or eat in the evening in the restaurant styleful, it will be very nice and alert served. In other respects (information about events, obtaining tickets and so on), the service was perfect. The only critical point ... was the size of our room (number 25)-the bed you could hardly walk around, bags and parking was difficult- therefor from the bath-in the small bathroom-a panoramic view of the Northern city! read more

My last visit with friends in Castle Rock was December 2007 monk. We stayed for our festival visit again the hotel Schloss mönchstein. The hotel is located on the monk in a beautiful well kept park Hill, extremely quiet as in a country hotel, you are right in the middle of the city and the festival Hall, getreidegasse, as well as with the free Mönchsberglift a ten minute walk. The hotel is not in a clean condition, there was a new Spa but lie more cosmetic, sauna and whirlpool. There is no pool and a workout for the equipment is ... very poor. We had booked in our group Deluxe double room. The rooms in the old building are still quite small, the bathroom well equipped. The new rooms in til the Vienna workshops are larger and have some access to the park. The prices fixed time indicating here should be able to expect that the guest everything worked, and that was not the case. Of course is to be expected in such an old castle certain drawbacks, but if on the first day of the year and to boot hottest in the room the air conditioning system precipitates is a huge big problem. Because the Hotel was fully booked were friends of mine in a seemingly not ready furnished rooms moved the No curtains. They tried to cover the space efficient but that spoiled our stay very much. In my beautiful marble shower curtain was above the tub and every morning was flooded total. Again and again was extremely design before function. The charming and always helpful staff naturally makes up for much again but in a hotel of this category must not happen. We still enjoyed the festival, as well as the culinary highlights at breakfast and dinner. read more
