Brilliantly located in a quiet side street. Approximately 32 rooms every Day cleaned, even on sunday. The guest structure was mixed, whereby I said the two-thirds from Germany came. There are so many Regular guests, which speaks for itself. The beach and that center Approximately 5 minutes away. Was the 2. time in Matala and if i am still time for this place decide only for this beautiful hotel. read more

    The rooms were big enough, had sufficient space to us. The bathroom Was a bit small but so is almost in all hotels in this category. We had A beautiful balcony with a view into nature and on the mountains just Lovely. So some evening with a small glass of wine on our Balcony bar.

    We had the half board. Breakfast was as almost always in a star hotel on Kreta Simply. The evening buffet was very tasty. There was no wide choice, But the dishes were very tasty. If that not enough is the must say Should north coast in a star hotel book. However for people who the Original Kreta want to explore the southern coast of the place. And here in the south there was only almost only 2 or three stars hotels. But Who spends his holiday in the hotel? A must is in any case a rental car. ,am the 17. time on Kreta and there is again and again new to discover.

    The staff's hospitality is simply great, we felt like on Home. It almost only spoke english, except for the bartender Tomas the Each evening to top form auflief. The cleaning of the rooms was spic as i have already mentioned. We had no complaints, therefore i can say about it nothing.

    Entertainment facilities, there was no luckily not. The pool was very nice and tidy. There was enough chairs and many shade trees. In addition in the area there are many beautiful beaches, as already mentioned. The water quality of the surrounding beaches is excellent.

    The location is unique, very quiet and not far from the shopping and unterhal - Tungsmöglichkeiten away. From the airport the transfer took a good Hour, had for the entire vacation a rental car %blank%. There is very Many sights of interest in the messara level. The palace of sturdy, gortis The old Römerstadt, agia triada to name just a few. The lots of small Beautiful villages around kamilari, pitsidia, sivas and so on there are beautiful Beaches in the area for example the red beach takes about 40 minutes please firm Footwear put on. And then one of the most beautiful beaches in Kreta the Komos beach about 3 kilometer outside of Matala.

So, the last days in our this year's 10. Year the Calypso - again and again great. Whether Gorigos and Maria than host, Thoma as barkeeper, EFI as Calypso kitchen Queen, Maria and loanna at the breakfast and room service, it fits. Friendly, professional and gracious. The share of the Benelux -guests is significantly larger, but a likeable mixture. Thanks for the hospitality! We see us again read more

Because of many positive reviews and of the very reasonable last minute -price we have for the hotel decided, unfortunately! At the hotel it is a small family-run hotel with 29 rooms. On arrival you told us, that the hotel overbooked and we for 2 nights into another hotel move need. In the other hotel it was a two star hotel in a bad location and with Spartan equipped room. This hotel was the brother of the hoteliers. As I turned out, we were not the only couple, which these torture go through had. On 3. Tag we moved back ... to, however not in the room, what we had booked with a TV, safe and balcony, but in a low-economy -room. On 4. Tag our vacation we got finally our room, which really very spacious and it was nice. The food was a catastrophe! The dinner was between 19:30 and 9:00 P. M. instead. Who however first at 20:30 to eat appeared, risked except for boiled noodles and beans nothing more to find. There was altogether 4, sometimes 5 hot dishes such as potatoes, Peas, fish, steamed Carrots. The next day then: potatoes, steamed Carrots, rice, Broccoli, Pork. The salad bar bechränkte on tomatoes, lettuce, gherkins and onions. There was unfortunately no fruit and no fruit. What we do a great shame found, was, that the prepared dishes spiced and unsalted were. I understand at the best will not, why the other reviews so good the gastronomy evaluated. Positive: Small beautiful garden. Negative: - FOOD! Change of towels only all 4 days. Absence the hoteliers in various questions/ problems. read more

For couples the peace and quiet search an excellent hotel. Only the breakfast which could be better. The hotel is really top. Especially Thomas the barkeeper. We had room 206 small but quiet. read more

You can't expect too much, however for a week ok. In the room one had lots of space, the bathroom was as well as plenty of (and a great shower). The selection of dishes was not exhilarating but tasted reasonable (1 main course - usually very heavy meat and little choice at salads, no dessert). To the beach it is a time, is not just around the corner. read more

Small, pleasant hotel. Clean rooms, Changing every 4 days. The breakfast could have been a bit rich be, the dinner is reasonable. To reach the beach you have to walk about 10 minutes, there, there are also a supermarket, restaurants and bars. Matala is a very small place, the bus connections aren't outstanding, so that the hire car' s, at least for a few days, recommends. The excursion 'samaria gorge': you should very good physical constitution and good shoes. I have many participants saw, the following 6 hours bergablaufen on gerölligen us rocky because clearly their limits came. The bus ... alone takes 3 hours, departure in matala around 5:10 and return at 22 o'clock! read more

We were 1 week hiking & bathing. The time in the Hotel Calypso we very enjoyed. It has a wonderful terrace and a friendly & helpful team. It lies somewhat outside, absolutely quiet at the entrance. Therefore we could every evening about 10 minutes comfortably in the walk. We would gladly come again. read more

A nice small quiet hotel (about .30 room) where we have three weeks recovering. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace, surrounded by 'green' the is surrounded. The breakfast buffet was Greek spartan but adequate and the evening buffet always delicious despite the wide selection so. The double room was nicely equipped and we enjoyed in the evening on the balcony 'rip-off' a in peace and quiet. The staff was very nice and friendly and very quiet, so that you could eat breakfast in peace and stress free. We would stay in this hotel again at any time vacation. read more

The hotel is located on the edge of the village of Matala away from the street on the hillside. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms with balcony. Air conditioning, fridge and safe. Most of the guests were couples in the age between 30 and 60 mostly. read more

A wonderful hotel, a bit away from the city, but in about five minutes on foot. There is a very nice terrace, where breakfast & dinner were served. The waiters were very funny and Thomas he is regularly one raki from. One of the quieter & better hotels in Matala-the Maria & georgos are very friendly. I enjoyed my stay and will be back. read more

A wonderful, family-run hotel for carefree, nice holiday. The owners Maria & George are very friendly and willing to help. In the evening the multilingual Thomas to its guests. We were very comfortable there. There are apparently lots of regular guests, also we will come again. read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Spoke German however only the waiter, the evenings at the bar works. The food is simple, but good and fresh. The selection limited mostly on three dishes and side dishes, as well as salad evenings ( buffet) and a small buffet in the morning. The selection of drinks at the bar was great and the waiter very friendly. The atmosphere is hard to beat-is eaten in the typical Greek Veranda. The rooms are clean and big enough, we had a small balcony, for our standards was completely enough. Only the bathroom was somewhat ... habituation-needily: the door wedges sometimes ( small children should not lock!) and the shower curtain prevented middle Flooding of the bathroom unfortunately not. Over the cleanliness in the bathroom you can however complain. All together it is a three star hotel, the expected standard in any case corresponds to. read more
