We had a junior suite (3rd floor) and that was the oldest room type in the resort. The furniture might have been modern 10 years ago, but now it only looked old-fashioned. The rooms were large, there was a large terrace which wasn't watertight at rain unfortunately. Large bathroom, but it will stay a mystery for me why the closet was in the bathroom. The smell of urine in the bathroom followed us the whole time and that's not necessary I think. Unfortunately, the rooms were very badly-soundproofed and the doors could mostly only be closed with a loud bang. You couldn't see much of the ocean due to the dense vegetation, a beach front would be recommended there probably. We could also have a look at the other room categories and the next time, I would book a normal deluxe room, these were newly renovated and I preferred them, even if they were smaller. The executive suites looked cool.

There were several restaurants and when the renovation at the Dinarobin would be finished, you could also use the restaurants of that hotel. We ate in the buffet restaurant. The food was good and the choice was appropriate in my opinion. There was much fish and there was always pasta and pizza for the little guests.

They wanted to do it perfectly, but somehow, it didn't work. The employees were very friendly, but only this doesn't make the a good service in my opinion. For example, I prefer it when the empty plate is gone when I come with a new plate from the buffet than when someone takes the new plate to my table for me. If you ordered two baguettes and two drinks at the beach, it could happen that you only got one bread and two lukewarm drinks after 40 minutes. You had to wait another 10 minutes for the second bread. I thought, the small snacks which were served in the bar as aperitif before dinner were pleasant. The room was cleaned twice a day and the bathing towels were changed, but they sometimes forgot to change the bathing towels. They couldn't take away the smell of urine in the bathroom.

There was a big sports offer: golf, water ski, volleyball, sailing, snorkeling excursions, glass-bottom boat, diving etc. Apart from golf, diving, deep-sea fishing, bike renting and spa, everything was for free. You could only borrow flippers and diving goggles during the snorkeling excursions, but not to go snorkeling yourself at the beach. There was a mini club for kids which was used a lot, unfortunately, they only offered it in French and English. In the evening, there was always live music at the bar. I asked for WLAN, they offered it for 500 Mauritian rupee a day, unfortunately I had no reception in the room, only within a radius of about 20 meters around the lobby. Unfortunately, we also visited the spa, it was a total catastrophy. The massage room was dark and the air-conditioning was louder than the music. We booked a partner massage and were probably the last customers of the massage in the evening. We felt as if the two masseurs once had cleaned fishes on the fish market, they just did something to let the time go by. After the massage, we felt like two tunas potted in oil. The massage oil dripped from our body and I'm not sure if the product was really from Clarins, the scent reminded me more of cooking fat from the discounter. Well, I hope that was just a mistake and other guests could and can enjoy more pleasant massages.

First, I traveled to Mauritius with very high expectations which, unfortunately, didn't become true in the Paradis. The hotel area was beautiful even if it was already more than 30 years old. They renovated things again and again to keep it in a good state. The guests mainly came from Europe, many French and British guests were there, a few German, Austrian, Swiss and Russian guests also. The hotel area was long, therefore you were sometimes glad that you could use a golf cart once in a while. I think, half board was standard in the hotel and you should definitely book that since there were no restaurants near the hotel.

The beach was said to be one of the most beautiful ones on Mauritius, well, it was beautiful, it wasn't too wide and but often covered with parts of corals, therefore bathing shoes were recommended. But in comparison to the beach at Dinarobin, it was a paradise. There was nothing near besides the Dinarobin and a golf course. Except for the small shopping center directly outside the resort, but we only once got money from the dispenser there, the stores were already closed then. Those who didn't want to lie at the beach all day long, could visit the sights from the south-west (Colored Earth, lots of waterfalls, Grand Bassin or the tea factory of Bois Chéri). The excursion to the dolphins at the Rivière Noir (about 15 minutes away by taxi) was nearly a must, you could swim with dolphins in the great outdoors there.

As mentioned at the beginning, the rooms were furnished spaciously. They had a large terrace. The room had its own safe, a telephone and a minibar. Unfortunately, there weren't many international TV channels. The bathroom had a bathtub as well as a shower.

There were 4 restaurants and a large bar. We actually always ate in the buffet restaurant "Le Brabant". The evening buffet had a daily changing theme. The dishes were prepared freshly usually in the form of "live cooking". It was varied and good. The breakfast buttet was a sensation. They really offered everything you could wish for there. Crepes, waffles, omelettes and fried eggs were prepared freshly. Lots of different fruits were available in the morning as well as in the evening. The restaurant was very clean just like the whole hotel.

The staff was super friendly and extremely attentive. The guests should speak one of the national languages English and French. If you wanted, you didn't have to move at all on your holiday, you could let them drive you everywhere with golf carts. You could order food and drinks at the beach just like in the rest of the hotel. The hotel had a hair-dresser, a doctor, a laundry as well as a mini club.

The hotel was too good for a pure beach holiday. They really offered numerous sports on land and in the water. The golf course was directly at the hotel and really had a fantastic location. (It wasn't easy to play there due to the strong wind). There were 6 tennis courts (in a very good state), 2 pools and 2 table tennis tables. The fitness room was also furnished in a very modern way. You could do water sports anyway (water ski, diving, go snorkeling, wakeboard...). The pool was situated directly at the ocean (very large and clean, 1,20 meters deep) and it was a real alternative if you didn't want to swallow seawater. The beach and the pool chairs were the same ones (wooden loungers with cushions made of foam - great) and there were enough of them.

The hotel had 5,5 stars and deserved them! The lobby and reception were furnished very stylishly. The rooms (upgrade to junior suite) were furnished very spaciously. The rooms were cleaned every day, the towels and beach towels were changed again in the evening if requested, the bedsheets were also turned back again. We had booked half board, but we got an upgrade to full board as honeymooners. I would say, 60% of the guests came from France, 25% from Great Britain, 10% from Germany. Of course, the hotel had a certain class due to the hotel category and that was good. Unfortunately, we couldn't find many newspapers and magazines from our country on Mauritius. But the hotel found a remedy and offered news of the day in different languages every day.

The hotel was situated on a peninsula. You entered it through the security area. Le Paradis was situated directly at a fantastic sandy beach. The water shimmered turquoise and was crystal-clear. It took a bit more than an hour by car from the airport to the hotel. A quite modern shopping center was about 15 minutes by bus away. (The hotel drove there with a bus twice a week for free).
