Holiday hotel in the town

A beautiful holiday hotel in the town with special location directly at the waterfront. A special lobby receives with riesenmosaik and much, lots of space. The hotel room with a sea view and the large not visible balcony gives you a special atmosphere. The terrace area with small garden directly on the promenade, the however - unfortunately - currently iumfassend renovated and for walkers is locked. Apart from that is the walk from the hotel on the promenade to the city center area very recommendable. To the white tower you hardly need more than 5 minutes. The hotel pool in ... the garden is in the summer certainly a highlight, in November he was as usual closed. The breakfast buffet is extensive and (very ) good quality. Altogether a wonderful hotel read more

There are some very good hotels in the city of Thessaloniki and thus the choice is very large. The Makedonia palace is one of them. The five-star hotel has us by its perfect service and excellent cuisine convinced! The hotel is one of the larger, but it was clean and friendly. It was a very tastefully decorated restaurant, a sushi restaurant (unfortunately only open in winter), and a large lobby with sitting areas and even a few small shops. The spa area we didn't use it. It looked very inviting. As the hot August not high season for hotels in ... the city of Thessaloniki means, we were able to have a junior suite at a very good price. Actually we did not eat in hotels very often, but this is the absolutely worth the money. In any case, the T-bone steak try calf. The awesome! The breakfast was excellent. For Greek standards very large selection of everything, that the heart desires. Even specialities from Crete, you could lap at the buffet. And in Northern Greece! Our compliments. Our Junior suite was very large and spacious, newly renovated and had probably the best view of the harbor. And my we not from the balcony, but from the bed! Because this was a large window with a great view of the ocean. This view was worth the price. The balcony had a partial view of the ocean, but was fine. But with the balconies and possibly also be renovated. The bathroom was a bit too small for a suite and when taking a closer look, you could find small flaws. The cleanliness was in order. When we got to the room, there was a fruit basket with a red wine to welcome on the coffee table. Even when we flipped the large LCD tv, we were welcomed with our surnames. Very nice! The drinks and food prices for room service were for five star hotel absolutely normal. And as already mentioned, for the quality of the food, we have spent a bit more. As on our last evening in the restaurant of the hotel and into the room, since our daughter was sick, we had a bottle of wine in our ordered and we asked if we could take them to our room. We have been told, that you personally would bring up. The amazed us at the beginning a bit. But after about ten minutes of our wine bottle and a large plate of various cheeses, which is likely to be worth more than US bottled water. And the free. Bravo! The Makedonia palace has its own, open and secured parking, as well as an underground car park. We thought, that we would have to pay 18 €per day. At the end we were however nothing. Thank you! The hotel is located right in front of the large seafront of Thessaloniki, where you can walk at night. The center of the city is about 15 to 20 minutes. The hotel is right in front of the pool area (open until October). We found the staff very attentive, the US free towels and free beach chairs organised for us. The great weakness of the hotel is in our opinion, the already obsolete pool area, you still had not been renovated. The fit is not in the picture. Big plus was a lifeguard, the daily water extracted. This gave us a secure feeling, especially, because our daughter spent hours in the pool. All in all you will find a couple of flaws in this hotel, but in the end it was for us the overall experience. And it was really excellent! The staff at the front desk to every waiter or cleaning lady were all very, very nice, helpful and very efficient. As you will find not all five star hotel in Greece. You can tell, that the Makedonia palace is a cornerstone in the Fünfsternehotels. We'll be visiting again soon. This is already certain!. A big thank you for this wonderful stay! read more
