We were in this hotel for 2 nights as a part of our round trip accommodated.
The entrance area is very nicely done and the hotel is in colonial style kept.
The rooms would have preferred an tacken clean can be (bathroom), but it was still as a part of.
Only negative was the almost unbearable nightly noise because the hotel among the best in the center is.
Directly opposite our room was a bus station where the buses honking their horns, then had
We have a nightly Workshop by midnight until four o'clock in the morning tables polished and ... welded and punctually around five hours started the prayers of the monk over loudspeakers. OK, it did not killed, and for 2 days it was manageable. But the tooth temple, but directly opposite and you should see.
Food, so breakfast was also okay. read more

We had during our round trip by Sri Lanka two days stay in the hotel.
The first impression of the hotel gave me a nostalgic.-) but mentioned our tour operator already prior to, that such a antique hotel is. But ANTIK is definitely not bad. The location of the hotel is located in Kandy, the main artery from the first entering the hotel room we thought, that the window was open. These were however 'closed'. Closed on Sri Lankisch just-) our room lay to main street and it is rush hour times extremely loud. Evenings take the traffic ... and the noise from and leaves a, insofoern the pizza Hat from opposite not back to his workshop opens, safely fall asleep. In the morning at 5 is then arouse announced. Not through the hotel, or, because the round trip going further, but, because the monk ( the tooth temple is on the other side of the street) to the prayer call, which not would be so bad, if the ceremony not over loudspeakers loudly on the hotel blaring would. I recommend Carry ear plugs forward.-) apart from that the hotel is for a round trip completely reasonable. read more

I have as a part of a round trip 3 nights spent in this hotel. My room a ballroom and had - in comparison to my Traveling companions-also plenty of lamps. I had 2 single beds, whereas in the mattress too thin for sleeping was. The other was however very comfortable.
The rooms were clean, and the beds on the next day with flowers. The walls to the neighbors were however like cardboard. I heard every word I neighbors, as the telephone there rang I thought it my!
Because the hotel also in the middle of the city is, it ... is at night also very loud.
In short: for a few nights recommendable nonetheless, it doesn't go more central. read more

The Queen's hotel in Kandy should not nostalgia addicts to be missed! We had the luck in the evening in the totally booked out hotel to come.
The extremely friendly staff took us with a calm in front desk as we really Noble passing through and told us the freshly renovated suite with a direct view of the tooth temple, where we really so felt.
Regardless of our special Luck with accommodation in a grandiose room, you should own because of the location, the friendliness of the staff and the history of the building a night in this hotel in ... any case feast in its Sri Lanka round trip plan. Not free dips in various guidebooks as a secret tip on. Blink you should however about partly suboptimal carried out renovation Work and the overall age of the building. read more
