Pleasant surroundings and convenient to areas which were important to us. Setting around pool very relaxing convenient to all guests who used the facilities.Can recommend for those who have children and pets. read more

The lodge is run by a Italian couple. Very friendly and also very helpful what the excursion and abendessenlokationen regards. The premises are very beautiful and comfortable designed. It is very clean. Small pool with chairs is in the garden and is almost the whole day in the sun The breakfast is very poor and the only thing which in my eyes needs improvement is. It is a great place to settle down coming from Cape Town and to dive into the wine area of Stellenbosch. We regret that we where not able to stay longer. The owner where very nice and the next morning breakfast a perfect start into the day. read more

Not in centre of the Stellenbosch , but cool place to stay. There is 50 km from Cape Town, and in the midst of Wineyards. Personnel is kind, there is hot water... there is a shop nearby is it enough ? read more

After having stayed a few days in The Stables Lodge at my own, two years ago, I now returned with my family (husband and two girls aged 8 and 10). We really enjoyed the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. The B&B is in a safe area, a 20 to 30 minutes (enjoyable) walk from the centre, but the location is also greath because of the mountain view. The children enjoyed the (small) garden with swimming pool. read more

Located in pleasant, quiet area of Stellenbosch, 30 min. walk from downtown. We had a spacious, clean room opening up to small garden and ditto pool (perfect for a quick refreshing dip). No TV in room and simple breakfast: both highly appreciated by us!! Very kind and helpful owners (Italian) and personnel. Quick-Spar supermarket around the corner. If you don't mind the distance to town: highly recommended! read more

We stayed here having just arrived in SA and about to embark on the Garden Route. Illaria provides a really warm genuine welcome to the Stable. The room we had (Little Italy) was perfect for our family of four, enough space and a good shower room. The pool was relaxing, sufficient loungers and towels provided, which we needed after a long flight from the UK. The breakfast made by the ladies was absolutely adequate. Plentiful selection of cereals, juice and bread / toast and coffee and something cooked if you wanted it. Delightful family to stay with. Would highly recommend. read more
