During dinner when we 2 bottles of wine trying to order asked us the waiters, if we please italian or english may. We answered in the negative (although we both can) said the waiter c. To us' du show wine on board '. The gourmet dinner with culinary surprises was salad from the buffet, raclette and lammracks. As we to weight wanted, on the language of the staff (no german) said the chef de service, in this hotel it is not a default, to german can. He sent the receptionist past, this said to us, if you not fit here ..., you would for this salary, i earn did not like to wish to work. èbrigens the 2 owner weren't there, noisy staff those both always from 06:00 to 13:00. And this in the peak season?! read more

A dream of a hotel: from the outside it looks rather like a classic Zermatt chalet-style hotel. Not pompous and ornate, however rather modest and historically so inviting. Since we were there in the off season here, is the outside area difficult to assess, but you could see on the first glance, that this hotel maintained. read more

    We stayed in the junior suite direction south. The noble wooden ceilings and the heavy curtain on the bed, as well as the historic corner fireplace lent the area something majestic. The bathroom the marble style and stukaturen on the ceiling over the jetted tub were the icing on the i. very exclusive, very clean and very stylish and romantic, but absolutely not tacky. At the dearest one i would the touch 7.0 soutenant.

    Breakfast with half board: where do i begin? Only high quality, tastefully laid out breakfast buffet and a selection of best teas, for me as teeliebhaberin amazing. The dinner not to mention, a classical concert for the palate in top-level perfection. Not only the exquisitely prepared food, but as you on the plate arranged were, struck me with every course in awe and that in a 5-course menu. A tosender applause for the chef and for all his acolytes, because alone one could use such a work of art not at all whip up.

    Top-service and very friendly and helpful staff. Only the bartender has something dreamed, which we quite long for our aperitif had to wait. When tries with it but worked well. Although we only about 20 steps to the train station had to go, we were with the electric car to the train station brought.

    In spite of the immediate proximity to train station very quiet location. The Zermatt 'einkaufsmeile' in the small format is just a few strides away. Restaurants nearby? Please? This excellent hotel all other restaurants only a disappointment.

Beautiful, clean and good equipped hotel. The rooms are big and practically equipped. The food is excellent and diverse. The complete staff ( included owner and front desk) is very friendly, helpful and competent. read more

All in all, I was quite satisfied. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The decor of the lobby, as well as my room was 'a matter of taste ' (I was not), but I was still happy! read more

Nice Hotel, great location behind the train station, the bags were put in the room directly on the suitcase stand and back to the train station, even to the train carried! The decor is museum similarly, comfortable, specifically. read more

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the end of June. Our comfortable room on the first floor had a south facing balcony with a view of the Matterhorn. The bathroom was very clean & well equipped with a jacuzzi bath, shower, double washbasin, bidet & toilet. The towels were changed twice daily. The buffet breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food & drink. Dinner was an amazing gourmet experience every night. It was a set 4 course menu with a choice of main course. The presentation of the food was excellent, especially the sweets. ... Unfortunately, the drinks were very expensive. The hotel has an excellent indoor swimming pool & spa facilities. We really enjoyed our first visit to Zermatt and highly recommend the Hotel Alex. read more

Nicely situated friendly hotel. Slightly quirky bar area but good hospitality and friendly. Indoor tennis court and squash probably had their day but pool ok. Some renovation in progress. We had a nice room. read more
