This is a stunning resort ideal for a total unwind, it has a laid back serene atmosphere with staff who will go the distance to make the most of your stay. The rooms are magnificent with stunning views and beautifully appointed. The setting is idyllic and the facilities superb. The resort is 10 minutes away from the action areas but transport is provided for those who want to experience the craziness of Lamai or Chaweng. 3 to 4 days at this luxurious retreat will recharge the soul and spirit. read more

Had a wonderful time staying at The Kala. All staff are friendly, and as I was travelling alone, they made me feel very welcome and at home. The rooms are very spacious and have a miminalist feel, with stunning views of the gulf.
Breakfast could have more options, but the lunches and dinners were more adequate.
If you are looking to spoil yourself and have some peace and quiet in a very tranquil resort, then The Kala is for you! read more

This hotel has actually been built INTO the cliffs with trees and greenery all around giving the resort such a peaceful, earthy feel. The views of Chaweng and the ocean are so beautiful you can lose yourself for hours. There is a private deck that I absolutely loved where we sat sipping sipping the yummiest cocktails and making friends with other guests.
This resort definitely maintains all the standards you expect with regard to cleanliness, amenities and service, but I must say its the little extra touches that stood out for me. The attention to detail and the warmth of ... the staff made our time there just that bit more special and I can confidently say that because of that, this resort is one of the best places I have stayed. read more

We rate the hotel only partly recommendable. The appearance of the hotel is really beautiful (location, decor, etc.). The positive comments we agree for the most part, however they have the positive impression strong amounts:
The location (right on the main street) is annoying, both day as well as at night you can hear street noise, even though our pool villa even closer to the ocean than facing the street was (standard rooms are located in the direction of the road). We were in advance aware, that the hotel had no own beach in front of the hotel, but ... that the nearest Beach on the main street (noisy) is located, has so far been described here. This beach is open to the public and not 'clean' (very many cigarette butts, broken glass in part).
There is no supermarket in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
The restaurants, within walking distance from the hotel, are very limited. Furthermore, you must, in order to achieve this is, on the busy, dark entl eyes Main street, which is quite adventurous.
In the evenings of ability to pay 150-200 baht more hotel for two people with a public taxi. Hundred Baht only rarely have we paid (and that's just the tough, tiring day of negotiations.)
-the air conditioning in our pool villa was very good. Unfortunately the noise level of the home be optimized, so that we every night had to sleep with earplugs. The attempt, with only a fan (which, by the way, not to the standard of the pool villa is) to sleep, was unfortunately in vain, because the mobile fan was beautiful to look at, but unfortunately ancient and thus was blasting.
Conclusion: we were absolutely no activities moaner, were not for the first time in Thailand and we read prior to booking the reviews and indeed we are stay at this hotel be rather disappointed, since we had hoped for 'other'. read more

One of the most beautiful honey moon hotels that I have ever seen-fantastic view of the bungalows the only two benefits-in the basement in the Roman-style swimming pool and first floor bedroom with all comfort-bathtub sunk in the floor with a view of the sea and beautiful details with clams koko nut bowls, and hotel I can only recommend it-it is a inside tip for couples who have a different holiday want to do a little bit out of the hustle and bustle-super nice! The service and the staff was great-they anticipate your every wish from-I will definitely book this ... hotel again allows -a dream! read more

We have beautiful 13 days and nights in this hotel spent. Although there are only three à la carte breakfast choice, you could combine anywhere. The staff tried hard, to fulfill every wish of the guests. We had a very nice room (number 421) with a nice balcony and partial large picture windows. The room were cleaned every day and cleaned, just great! The hotel was only three days really good visited, because larger groups or even a wedding company the check-in process was easy. In these days there was a breakfast buffet in the morning, which we enjoyed a ... lot. Whom it in the bay coral cove was too quiet, can simply with a shared taxi to thong Thakian Bay or with the hotel shuttle to eleven o'clock for lamai beach. The sand is white and the water is warm and great for swimming. If you look for a nice dinner in a great atmosphere allows would, the best about ten minute walk uphill to the villa la moon. The food is great. We did not eat in the hotel, because it was too expensive us. The food we were in the evening either in lamai beach road or in Chaweng, but also the restaurant in the bay coral cove or in the thong Takian Bay were very good and cheap. We wish a beautiful holiday! read more

It is a great hotel, his five stars value. There is no reason to complain, except that there is no beach (but we knew) and the fact that the hotel was on the street and no opportunities for shopping or restaurants nearby are.
The noise the road from time to time with. It was kept in limits. Since the bungalows/villas at the bottom of the road, it is acceptable. Rooms, restaurant, food, etc. are immaculate. Only the breakfast is a bit sparse.
There is a shuttle to the beach nearby, but is not recommended, as this beach is not very ... well maintained. read more

The Slogen the Kala is: 'where the State quiet time'! This applies to one hundred %! If you want a hotel the absolute top notch higher, off the Chaweng tourism are looking for, this is the place to be! The location is on a hill, unique, already at the the entrance of the hotel (the outside nearly overlooked), energising the air! If you, like us, has a pool villa, there are few improvements! The villa is a single storey maisonette, in the lower area is the great pool (enough even to swim) and shower and massage table, above the great ... bedroom with half of the room Panoramaglas (the view of the bay you stagger), bathroom and shower and balcony (no beds, only chairs) was great, room decor (flatscreen, DVD, CD, coffee making facilities.) anyway! The pool is a little small, but who needs it with a pool villa! The standard room we could see also, but no comparison to the pool villa! We loved the breakfast also very good, not a buffet, but ordered a la carte (only three breakfast variants, since it is prepared in 1 week might be a bit boring), but top quality, and the view from the restaurant makes the rest great location (between lamai and Chaweng) on the island (with scooter: three minutes to Chaweng Noi beach, seven minutes to Chaweng beach, ten minutes to lamai beach). The hotel does not have its own beach (hillside, has nice deck chairs, no possibility without circumstance to get into the sea), it was clear in advance and therefore no problem, the masses of tourists, which lost, was worth it to us! In the hotel you feel like you're in an oasis of calm and serenity to float, everything is down to the smallest detail you want just top stylish and didn't want to leave. The restaurant (with cheap prices for this category = 260 baht for 1 main course) was simply superb delicious, as well, that we even three times verzichtetn, else to eat! We'll be back, promised! read more
