Convenient place to stay for short break in Matala

The way to the dimitris villa was the first challenge: we arrived from the 'wrong' side and did not directly found-in Matala 'city' the hippy tree/vw bus spun, 2 minutes back and behold: it was even signposted! It lies somewhat off the main street, so that you peace, from our room we still had view of the caves at the beach. A window to the car park (free of charge) or courtyard, the balcony toward the beach (don't get me wrong! One is a few hundred meters away, but one sees the mountains/caves!), so you 'passages' -fresh air, if you ... don't on the free air conditioning system like to fall back. Windows with blinds or curtains to darken. Otherwise the room is very small, you can only on bed walked, for two is the space was not. There is a large fridge, safe and tv available-everything free of charge. The bathroom was small, you snuggles with the shower curtain, but that i was from Kreta become accustomed to. There are rooms on the ground floor (ground level), we were on the 1st floor and it is still higher, but either is a private sector or it is under construction, at least was the way blocked. Breakfast and pool were a few meters away from the main building. The breakfast is sparse decor, however, we full (fruit, packaged jam, bread, yogurt. Of drinks coffee and insanely great 'mountain tea'!). There were in both of the areas free wi-fi but with different codes. Mother (Elena?) And daughter both speak fluent english, the daughter is a nurse, what i personally with stomach problems was a big help. Check-in and check-out we had in each case in the pool area, on the counter in the entrance a sign with the note was, that the employees there. At the pool there were a few free beach chairs. From the hotel you can either on foot or by car to the city center, here gives it supermarkets, taverns, restaurants and a lot of ' knick-knacks' for shopping. If you're not long in Matala would like to stay for, is in good hands here, but for a longer trip the hotel i would for example, due to the size not recommendable, as one only heavily from the way. Except possibly in the lower area, where you instead a balcony almost the courtyard as terrace use: over here let yourself to enjoy the pleasant shaded and sunny seating. read hotel review

I don't understand how people can have complaints about this Hotel, regarding the price-category. It's clean, you have everyhing you need and the people are nice and friendly. If you need luxury, one should take a 5-star hotel. read hotel review

A reasonable hotel I expect, that promised features also be held. It should Wi-Fi in the entire hotel free of charge are available, the but only in the breakfast room and also only in the morning. The double rooms have about 12 square meters and as you will have to very like, so steep and narrow it. The bathroom was small, the shower so tiny, that you always with the horrible shower curtain in contact is. Warm water with solar heating, and therefore, there is only in the evening sunny days. The toilet also a little horrible. The window the ... most rooms go on a course out, so you always the curtain project must and it is then finst. We have stayed there 5 times. The hotel is from year to year worse. Meanwhile, but a condition the absolutely not acceptable. Totally moldy bathroom and legionella in the water. I am already during our vacation was ill and after the holiday 2 weeks sick ( legionella). read hotel review
