We are again for 4 weeks on this island landed. Wonderful the circa 7 kilometer from the hotel away beaches Paraíso and sirenas. Inconvenient, with often long awaiting periods for the small train or with the bus for the transport to the beaches. Unless, you can take a taxi for 2 cuc per head and drive. The beach on Hotel Sol Cayo Largo was while we were there, on the year's end, by often strong surf only for courageous swimmer adequate. There were too few and partly ailing loungers at the beaches. The water sports was very modest. The only ... surfboard was, as already in the spring, still not repaired. (we are in Cuba) two catamaran, some canoe and pedal boats were available, if not just returned the red flag was to see. In short: quiet holidays, very nice beaches, türkisfarbiges sea. Lots of patience and plentiful tip (but also property) to bring their own. read more

We really wanted to from new year our mietwagenrundreise through Cuba start. Stood there however no vehicles more available, so we decided before the beginning a couple of days beach vacation sol cayo largo to. The complex is relatively run-down, room rather 2-three stars, the pool slide along several places torn (risk of injury), on the 1. day only one bath towel in the room, 2 days no Mojito due to the lack of mint, the rental car life-or-death scrap and the waiter is unequivocally to understand, the from morning on home leave is, so you the tips today still ... to him to give. At the end of a 10-day mietwagenrundreise through Cuba, we have a week's swimming vacation in the Hotel Sol Cayo Largo spent. The hotel is very well maintained and we have wonderful eaten. For cuban/caribbean standards the hotel is in top condition (we have many other hotels on the way saw). The rooms are in blocks a 8 units divided and spread out around the main building/front desk, the a closer to the beach, the other closer to pool or restaurant. We had a great and large room with a bath/shower, bidet, toilet and sink. In addition it has in ... the room a safe, an ironing board, plenty of space for the suitcase clear out, tv, ac and a nice balcony. We had our room direct to the beach now, in the lower floor you could the beach still scarcely see. The upper floors had sea view and additionally a hammock on the balcony. We ate exclusively in the buffet restaurant eaten. The breakfast is simply great! Also during dinner there was nothing to moan about. The employees were in general very attentive and friendly, particularly the at the buffet have great trouble. Even if you certainly has a tip pleased, we had not the impression, we only therefore served in a friendly manner were. In general the hotel is as well as the rooms very clean and well maintained. In this climate see not always everything brand new from! On complaints were promptly reacted to. The entertainment in the pool area was not disturbing if you (like us ) nothing special like. The beach in front of the hotel there is very nice, we had however many clouds, wind and therefore the high waves. The roadmap of the railways to the beaches paradiso and sirena we have at the end not understood \u263a but in Cuba needs everything a bit more time.
These two beaches are really exceptionally beautiful and at the time when we were there, was the weather there much better and above all it had less wind. If you arrived at noon arrives, you probably no loungers more, but it has enough sun screens and a beach bar. Only negative point is, on cayo largo nothing from the unique and wonderful country Cuba easier. It is everything on the tourism and it would be unfortunately, if you are not before or after a Havanna-stay or even a tour adequate. The outward and return journey with the airplane is quite adventurous and the timetable is also on the previous evening, change, so please allow plenty of time (such as everywhere on Cuba \u263a.

Relaxing go after a round trip. Staff are very friendly and nice. Not only dependent on tip, but also from the own friendliness. Eat rich. Not always everything as, but sufficient. No problem with capacity in the restaurant and no problem with chairs on the beach. We had booked the VIP package and were glad, therefore we could just early (10:00) the room. So we had also view of the sea and 2 appointments for food in the restaurant. Internet (10 Euro/ hour) costs only nerves and not worth it, because it was slow. Cell phone we didn't use ... it for writing text messages and have circa 6 Euro used for 8 SMS. Once by moped on the way, then one has a bit the island seen. With the small railroad it was the 'got' Sirena and Paradiso. The Sirena you can have a nice hiking to the sharpened. There is also the dolphinarium. In the small town is worthwhile the turtle farm. The turtles can be seen from the pool and feed. Unfortunately were at that point in time no exposed. But you could walk with the eggs outgrabe-just ask.
Snorkel stuff were included, but not the right place. Is worthwhile not. Only short times 3 dolphin( the Sirena) and otherwise nothing was going on.
Our air conditioning was not close (puddle on the floor). After 2 days the damage fixed. You have to mention a bit patience have, there is no shortage at will, but the accessories!
If the. Sea quiet has a beautiful broad beach. It is also possible the total was up to the last hotel emigrate.
3 days we had stormy sea, then is nearly barely beach since. Partially, the sea then up to the rocks ran. You should take it as it is and just enjoy. Who annoys missed the great vacation. read more

The hotel Sol Cayo Largo is really a bit outdated but by all means recommendable and the most beautiful hotel on the island! The food is good. The pizza at the pool bar, a small snack for in between, is sharpened ( as good as when the Stammitaliener at home). The staff in the area of the hotel ( including the room women) really makes an effort, nice and helpful. The women at reception could friendly his. The in short our short break sol Cayo Largo :' completely contented'. read more

Was a disappointing Kubaurlaub, without tip nearly nothing at all. The food was either cold or raw, seafood are only with caution. The tablecloths in the buffet restaurant only in absolute Emergency changed. Only the great beach has our vacation saved. read more

Diving and snorkeling in Cayo Largo?

The complex power a very well-kept impression. The numerous staff was in all areas friendly and accommodating, without being pushy. The rooms are really big, all with a balcony, tv, safe, climate and fan (this is unfortunately not adjustable ). There are 220 Volts in the room, an adapter is however necessary. Everything is very clean, Bugs we during our entire Cuba -stay not seen. Annoying were only evenings mosquitoes, insect repellant don't forget!
The beach is bright and fine as sugar, with quiet lake shimmers the sea turquoise. Snorkeling from the beach from worth however not, hardly and almost ... no fish or coral.
To the diving can you each morning 8:30 A. M. By bus free to Marina drive. A TG costs before place 40 CUC + 10 CUC for the equipment. They was in our day not possible. From Germany from advance can save a lot of money. The Atemregler are great, the rest were signs of use, but works well. There are only boat dives, with up to 10 divers. There were always 2 dive sites started, you need but also only 1 TG to join in and the second for example snorkeling or on the boat suns. (figures you need then only 1 TG). A settlement on land after a TG however not possible. Diving going in Karibik ( not only on Cuba) often after the American principle, that is to say tight Briefing, limited to deep, profile and duration; diving going in groups, after 50 minutes for all with the surface-fall off when a diver the Flaschendruck early on 50 at-then ends the TG for all earlier. The guides are always helpful, if you for support requests. The underwater world was rather scant, sparse with corals overgrown rock formations, interrupted by sand areas and moreover. Somehow everything was brown. There was at least barracudas, Ammenhaie, stech and eagle rays and even a turtle. The stock is however not with the hotspots under the diving spots this world to comparisons. The view is very weather permitting, about 10 to 20 meters, but we never ideal weather had. After the dives, sometimes a lonely Bay route. If the chemistry on board is true, will be dancing, drinking, laughed and celebrated-Karibik feeling PUR-as can the diving is almost irrelevant be!
In short: Whether divers or not, you should Cayo Largo as only one of several stops a Cubarundreise book. There are also definitely a recommendation. 12 days for us were despite diving too boring. read more

Who here something to moan about finds, should rather stay at home!
Each put in the effort, is friendly and helpful. Even without tip it runs, you want the better (no waiting times the Tischesuchen evenings, faster you, reserving at the beach even if it not of emergencies is and so on) then you can also with 1 CUC already very much.
You should always keep in mind that you're on an island and everything only over must be brought.

The sol cayo largo is a 4 star hotel in Germany in nothing! It has approximately 300 rooms (wheelchair accessible rooms are available), 4 restaurants, two pools, three bars, a wellness and exercise area, a doctor and a small pharmacy, as well as two small shops. Because of the giant garden area, which is affectionately maintained, you can tell not at all, that 75 bungalows.
We had a sea view room (# 3022) directly next to the jetty which over dunes to the sea led. The room was rcht large and very bright, with double bed, tv, desk, rocking chair ..., mini bar (which daily with water, Cola, juices and beer was filled ), safe, bathroom included bath tub and bd, as well as a balcony with a hammock and places to sit.
In the entire hotel there is only all inclusive, whereby one fortunately no tourist have to carry a volume! No matter what time of day it has somewhere always something to drink or eat.
As guests there were many canadians, argentiner and italians on. Travelers from Germany were rather rare. read more

A very beautiful and extensive plant, you will notice hardly the other people, absolute relaxation on the empty beach. Very nice snorkeling and swimming general.
unfortunately there are definitely no choice possibility somewhere by Wi-Fi to go on the Internet, although here in the description of the hotel Wi-Fi is specified as a feature. If You explicit in the selection of its hotels on it and it is afterwards as fake turned out, it is really disappointing. A ageing hotel with a large investitionsstau in! Lack of Interest of the staff very remarkable. When complaints/ complaints understood the guest on once more. The size the beach is through the last 4 hurricanes suffered, but also if the beach no longer completely so broad, after short way excellent places in this very nice coast. If you comparison to 1999 is disappointed, but for Karibik Newbies is nevertheless worth seeing. I was already 2004 in this complex and now the entire vacation there. The hotel is absolutely recommendable, if you absolute relaxation, since the island small and well arranged.
